Yep, that quad 6 Pro is quite a DX 10 meter radio. Opens up all sorts of possibilities. 10, 11, 12 & 15 meters. Not bad for under 300 u$. Have not performed the firmware update yet. Thanks for the video. 73’ Amen!
The new President Washington does one extra feature that that one does not have. It have a built in feature that turns it into a full FM repeature with the added optional duel fan kit.
Recently retired and returning to the hobby. I ran across a deal on the Pro version and it seems like pretty good bang for the buck. I haven't had a chance to run it through the paces yet but I'm looking forward to it.
What you really need is a new President Washington. it is a little pricey but, it has a special feature in it. If you add the optional duel fan kit it has a built in repeater function. Which would be good for FM. Other than that the anytone is a good one too.
hey bud i got that radio buy it 3 yrs ago i hook it up in my semi truck and i love it,i used 10 k penetrator antenna with a automatic antenna tuner and is had good punch in am 85 to 90 watts, ssb go to over 100 w and fm 55,love that radio so much,i can talk to anybody i want in any channel or frequency
These are much too cumbersome to navigate. Manual knobs and switches are much quicker and easier to find when they're on the face instead of in the menu. Digging thru a menu every time you want to change noise blanker, or squelch or mic gain is just a pain in the ass. The Stryker 955 is by far the superior radio. And now, the 955 SPC+ is even 100 W radio.
Cool radio, but to start out, a legal radio would probably be more appropriate. Someone unfamiliar with radio is probably going to do more harm than good to the airwaves pumping out illegal power, possibly causing interference wiith neighbors and such if the antenna isn't tuned properly and all that jazz.
You can turn the power down to power that is appropriate for the FCC Rules. I don’t know if 50 watts would cause interference conditioning the stations that regularly run thousands of watts.
@@easyamateurradio4121 I was meaning towards someone starting out, but interference can be surprising. If I key my 5 watt GMRS on Channel 16 in the vicinity of my computer it starts opening file folders. Or if I key my CB at 4 watts it disrupts my entire sound system if I have it turned on.
There's some noise making you at best hard to listen to, and at worst massively annoying. Try redoing it with your shack quiet? It almost sounds like a poorly tuned piano. I hope you haven't intentionally tried to add 'music' to this. That's a good radio, and you sound like an intelligent guy. I'd be a little sad to learn you joined those fools that think adding random noises pretending to be music makes them sound smart.
Let's see here... "There appears to be some background noise that detracts from the clarity of your presentation, making it difficult to follow and, at times, a bit distracting. Would it be possible to re-record this in a quieter environment, perhaps with your shack silent? The noise almost resembles the dissonance of an out-of-tune piano. If this was an intentional attempt to incorporate music or ambient sound, I would encourage reconsidering that approach, as it detracts from the quality of your otherwise excellent content. You have a great radio setup and clearly know your subject well, so it would be a shame for these distractions to overshadow your expertise." That's better
@edcronin5409 The global CB (Citizens Band) radio market has experienced modest growth in recent years. In 2023, the market was valued at approximately USD 226.3 million and is projected to reach around USD 272.9 million by 2030, indicating a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.7% during the forecast period. After all these many years they are still making them with 4 watts power (12 SSB) and people are still buying them. Anything transmitting more power than that requires a license and for good reason, so that you aren't unintentionally blowing up the local community airwaves and bleeding all over the other channels. And also to prevent people, like one whose name I won't mention, from monopolizing channels nationwide for hours on end.

I agree! For the price, you can’t beat it!

Anytone is killing it these days... 👍
Yessir they are! About to be a house hold name
The new Stryker 955 version 3 is just hitting the shelves. It has 40 watts more power than the version 2, weather bands, and a smaller chassis.
Nice!

It’s my favorite 10m radio on the market right now

Hey! Thanks for the input. That’s why this is titled “my opinion”. I’m just saying for the size and the money, this is my pick for my radio. Thanks!
I also have a cumbersome radio, a quad five, but I just sat down with the manual for a little bit,
@@75ohmHAM this is why you’re a real ham
@75ohmHAM : It's a mobile radio. Not a good idea to be fumbling thru a menu while driving. Plus, flipping a switch takes much, MUCH less time.
Anything's a mobile if you're brave enough :)
Unless it doesn't have a split frequency don't buy it. SSB is a must.
It will run a split operation in repeater mode and has SSB.
Not born a cb radio but a inexp amateur 10 12 meter with software modding available!!! 10 11 12 meteRs then available
11meters available at the push of a button

Take out that music. Too loud.
CB is completely useless 4 watts on a hf band lots of noise
I would say that it’s relative to when you’re doing. I use a CB every day at my job, not for fun, but for work. I’m not even a truck driver!
