This is like a FTP deck with how cheap it is to make and most cards should already be in any Mage players collection! Thanks for the vid on this deck and thanks to whoever made this deck!

If you save up your gold you can buy each wing of the adventures for 700 gold. I know people that have done it, so technically, it is FTP even with adventure cards.

There's only one problem, aggro decks will always be the strongest deck. It doesn't matter what kind of deck you play if youre opponent kills you turn 6....
Mass health gain decks or control warriors can't win against minion based aggro decks because if the opponent has a board you have to deal with it, by doing that you lose tempo. If your opponent still has cards in hand after you dealt with the board you still lose...
If aggro decks where like burn decks in magic (you don't play minions, you just fire spells into the opponents face) it might be more balanced, because then you'd still be able to heal yourself without having to deal with a board.

You also have to undersrtand aggro decks are the cheapest decks around, while most contorl decks have a few legendaries.

I tried playing this deck, I met 6 control warriors in a row. FML.
This deck is really ingenious. I like how Frost Nova, Doomsayer and Ice Block fit in an aggro deck and how Medivh's Velet and Ice Block work in conjunction with each other and the entire deck philosophy. Additionally, Codlight Oracle's presence gives this deck its core character.
Turns out, 4 mana deal 11 damage and freeze is preeetty good

I think this is it's best incarnation but it isn't a completely new concept.

A deck I've been having success with is a secret hunter. The idea is to render the opponent's early game useless with a combination of freezing, explosive and snipe traps, combined with eaglehorn bow to allow you to swing your weapon every turn, then using avian watcher, highmane and CotW as powerhouse cards. Too fast for control decks and cripples aggro turns 1-4. Similar to the hunter Trump faced but has only a few early game minions Barnes and the late-game cards I mentioned. Also the deck doesn't need card draw, as the secrets help stall until you get your power cards.
I actually saw this deck on icy veins and played it a while ago, before the whole standard thing. It was actually pretty fun. It brought me to my highest rank (Although, I don't play much and don't have the greatest access to cards). It was a lot more aggro with Leper Gnomes, Knife Jugglers, Mad Scientists, and Bomb Lobbers, but most of those were nerfed or removed from standard. I still run Bomb Lobber in my current deck, since dropping it on turn 2 wouldn't hurt. You don't really care about your life total that much, but you really care about theirs.

That shaman hexing the loothoarder actually gave him a 17.7% chance of winning. Pretty crazy how plays like that can decide games.

this is actuallu not far from the truth. there are different server clusters you get out into based on various factors like what's in your hand, rank, etc. There is no doubt in my mind popular streamers are in a special cluster designed around making the game look better. Which of course will include great mana curve draws with a higher probability.
I also maybe 1 out of 5 games will get that dream startup hand compared to getting thrown my only 2 flamestrikes and Yogg opening hand or some such trash
You will also notice the opponents almost always have that dream starting hand. 1/3 3/4 3/2 random totem / plus 2 totem, thing, control spells, etc. always draw what is necessary
You're on crack. But it sounds like it's not very good crack, because players on good crack would probably be able to climb easily.
It's pretty surprising Trump was able to win that control warrior game according to Tom...

seemed to work okay against OTK warrior which is just perfect so would recommend further looking into this deck, its great fun anyway.
This deck beats almost every deck that doesnt HEAL or GAIN ARMOR. Otherwise it runs out of stream very quickly.
It's not so much that it runs out of steam, rather, it runs out of deck very quickly.
It has a finite amount of burn. Control warrior beats it because justicar can put you out of it's reach.
your sentence is not entirely correct. control warrior CAN beat it. its not going to get out of reach every single time, plus this deck also has board damage with mana wyrm
Druppel sure, any match up has variance. I do suspect Trump had success vs Control Warrior partly due to the novelty of this deck. Opponents weren't aware of how they should be playing it. When/if this deck is pervasive, as soon as you see coldlight oracle, you'll play it very defensively.
The T in "Valet" isn't silent. Valet - pronounced like Mallet - refers to a male servant or housekeeper, like a maid. What everyone keeps saying - Valet, pronounced like Ballet - refers to the guy who will park your car for you at a casino. I don't think Medivh has a parking garage. Could be wrong though, I never did the Karazhan raid

played his deck for acouple of hours this afternoon, does great against midrange shams and hunter, which is satisfying, good against stuff with no heals, but loses to druid alot and anything control with a decent amount of heals, if your facing just shamans and hunters this decks great but know when its a good time to stop if your pushing down the ladder

Watching cancer shaman lose is...just...oh it's so good.
Man I played against this deck today and I lost despite my 2 Forbidden Healing, Ragnaros Lightlord, 2 Ivory Knights and 1 discovered Lay on Hands. My health went from 21 to 0 just when I finally had lethal, very frustrating.
this 1st shaman is drawing insanely. both rocks, 1/3 3/4 combo, both totem buffers, etc.
then 2nd shaman despite drawing 4 control spells still had complete board control and lethal by what was it, turn 6?
That hunter in 2nd match was like, yes!! I got highmane, now I sure just set up and tuck frump on 6 onwards but little did he know that he will never reach that turn. :(

Sindre Herstad If you can get something like an Everyfin Is Awesome deck or something wackier like Murloc Warlock (Murlock, if you will) to work against Midrange Shaman, then more power to you because that sounds like a fun ass deck.
Not really, as murlocks have poor stats/effect for their mana cost, only chance you could have against a shaman would be with warleader, but shaman should have the board control by then. Murlocks are also just a worse zoo, and zoo is also weak to midrange shaman because of maelstorm portal.

The problem with the Murlocs is that all of them have weak stats for their cost, with the intent being that other Murlocs buff them. Shaman meanwhile plays super strong cards with good stats (like Thing from Below) that also synergize with their totems. Murlock is basically a worse version of Zoolock, and Zoo gets destroyed against Midrange Shaman. So no, I don't think it'll work.
Well just tried it and it's awesome, specially being such a cheap deck! You just need to focus going face all the time, most of the games i got my Ice Block popped but still managed to win.

I didn't have that yet either, so I used the disciple of c'thun to replace. It is more expensive and doesn't hit as hard, but it makes up for it by not needing a secret in play to activate, so it's never a dead card.

Any deck can have 75% wins if you know how to play it (which is much easier when it's your own deck, you know where you're going). In the long run though (30+ matches, as opposed to the average of 10 matches people usually play to test a deck), the win rate falls drastically... You will very likely have to face various aggro strategies and no deck can be good against all of them, at some point you will enter a loss streak. It would be fun to try this deck in ranks below 15 though, because I'm pretty sure it's only strong against the typical top-tier decks from the current meta, decks you will only see in high levels because they require specific cards that most people don't have. Play that deck at the beginning of a new season, I'm ready to bet it will perform way worse than in this video...
The sample size for the win rate for the deck according to the guide was 71 games. Still definitely could have involved a lucky streak, but it's not the low amount of games you are suggesting. You're right about the deck being very meta-dependent, because the match-ups are so polarizing. Whether you use the deck to climb or not will entirely depend on how many Mid Range Shamans there are (and lack of Control Warriors) when you decide to queue up.

Played this deck multiple times... Sucks ass against control/weapon warriors due to the easy armour gains and minion removal. Pretty hard against druids that base their decks on mana gains and big drops. It's all based on how lucky you get with draws.
I'm curious on Trumps take of why coldlight isn't run in any other aggro deck, but is run here.
it depends on the class, face hunter didn't run it because it had the hero power, aggro paladin has divine favour, aggro shaman is in such a spot that people can run tuskarr and magically get mana tide totem to draw them cards. overall aggro mage would have more trouble managing resources than other classes since it relies heavily on burn instead of charge or a good hero power
really fast burn deck, doesn't matter about how many cards the opponent has as there isn't any really answers to burn spells.
This isn't an aggro deck in the traditional sense. More like a combo/burn deck.

are you just really desparate for another arcane intellect? The only case where this differs from tempo mage is where ice block will be popped next turn regardless, but then an extra 2/2 isn't much really.
StandardTrickyness Aggro decks don't rely on stalling. This deck does, and that's where Coldlight Oracle comes in.
At 26: 11 if the mage used frostbolt against the doomsayer, Trump would have maybe lost the game. 4 damage from bolt, 1 from thalnos, 2 from wyrm.
He was just lucky she didn't have it.

This deck looks incredibly frustrating to play against. Building up minions, getting nova'd twice in a row, finally pushing through damage, trigger ice block, trigger another ice block and after that there's a got chance you're done for.

That's an 8 card combo. You will rarely ever get it off.

Why doesn't Midrange shaman just now play 1 copy of Healing wave? none of those minions are above 3 mana so 14 heal is easy for the shaman, and it also remedies play against other decks that happen to draw better.

83% chance? I'm pretty sure its a 75% chance since you have 2 draws and 4 possible draws: Fireball+Fireball, Fireball+Whatever, Whatever+Fireball and Whatever+Whatever out of which 3/4 are lethal
2/4*1/3*100 = 16.66% to not draw lethal which means 83.33% to draw lethal

Today I just got match with this deck 2 times and I lost both, I was like "what is this deck, aggro freeze mage?"
Getting burst down from 20 hp at 10 mana, it's the classic fireball > frost bolt x2 > frost lance x2
How does the math work ? 50% and 66% into 83% ?
In 50% of cases, he gets it the first draw. The other half of the time, he has a 66.66666% chance of getting it on the second draw. 50%*66.666666% = 33.3333%.
So, the chance of draw 1 is 50% and the chance of not draw 1 but yes on draw 2 is 33.3333%. Add those, and you get 83.3333%
The first draw is always 50%, but the second draw is only 66% half of the time (i.e. if you didn't draw the torch on the first go. If you drew the torch first there'd only be one left, therefore 33% to draw it again). So the odds of drawing is 50% + 66%/2 = 83%.
If you write out all the possibilities, 10 of the 12 possible outcomes will contain at least one roaring torch = 83% chance.

Eevee theres alrdy 2 loot hoarder in this deck and cult socerer is a good choice because its a 2 3/2 spell dmg card which is impt for win condition lethal

Either all have to be golden or none at all. He has disenchanted Golden Malygos for regular Malygos due to this.

The deck can technically still work but Valet is definitely a strong card.
Valet is pretty replacable. It's a strong card and it's really good in this deck, but it's far from a key card. Try finding something that helps you keep up with the board turns 2-4 as a replacement
I run Mad Bombers*, good for trying to get some extra damage in and it's a 3/2. If it hits your face, doesn't matter that much, but if it hits the enemy face, it matters a lot.

Maybe put in cult sorcerers? Work pretty well in tempo mage, and the extra spell power might matter if top decked late game.
