    I'm a caretaker, and I'm starting my client on water aerobics tomorrow. Really glad I found this. He's about two months out from being wheel chair bound for almost seven years. This is perfect. Thank you!

      Andrew Gerard. I too have just started home care for a client that has low mobility and am hoping to improve her balance and strength. But do I need any special training to help her?

      @@lostgirl6522 all that really matters is that your client is healthy enough to exercise, and you have the strength to help her in and out of the pool or maneuver her if need be. I actually was a personal trainer about a thousand years ago, so I can tell you from experience, form and fundamentals are nowhere near as important in water workouts bc the risk of injury is cut by about 90%. Plus, as long as she's moving she's working, and as long as she's submerged her joints are getting a break from gravity, so it's tough to go wrong. Of course, you and I aren't likely to get the same level of results as a professional, but it will still do a lot of good. Just be sure to take it slow and you'll be fine. 🙂

    I’m a new Water Aerobics Instructor. My Seniors don’t always “get it”. Some of them never cross front when I tell them to.

    How many religions do you do for the specific exercises?

      Jane, results are a mix of movement variability and intensity. Consider thinking in time (rather than reps). and mix up your routine for best results. 1-minute is about 30 reps in the pool if you're doing a full range of motion exercise. Try one exercise 20-seconds slow; 20-second medium; 20-seconds-fast. Helps prevent boredom and also trains for mobiity-cardio-strength so you target multiple components of fitness. You can follow this format and rotate though different exercises as a simple way to do interval training.

    I want to do this routine in my back yard pool but I can’t remember all the steps once I’m in the pool. My phone is not waterproof. Does anybody have a hack for watching or remembering in the pool?

      I have written them on a card and laminated it

      I'd suggest to add one or two new moves to your regular routine. Add one new move when you're ready. A mix of repetition and variation with is important for results.

    How deep is your pool?

    • @WaterExerciseCoach
      @WaterExerciseCoach  6 років тому

      You can do water exercise at any depth. For shallow water workouts it is ideal to be chest deep.
