Forgive me for being sheltered and late to the party, but I watched the simulcast of these guys opening for The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks and I was completely blown away. Grace Potter is amazingly talented and I'm surprised they are not already bigger stars than they are. They put on an unbelievable show. Just wow.
Kenny Chesney deserves some kudos for bringing Grace and her band to the notice to alot of people that may not have ever found her......the whole band is fantastic.....to my ears easily one of the best out there...any genre
In 1975 then rolling stone critic Jon Landau, and current manager, after seeing a Bruce Springsteen concert in Boston, proclaimed"I seen the future of rock n roll and his name is BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. Grace Potter and The Nocturnals has given me that same feeling with her live performances..She is the real rock n roll deal..I have spread the word on a Springsteen fanzine website..Excited as hell for the new album, and catching her shows!!!
Beautiful voice, plays a B3.if only I were 20 years younger. I love the bands sound, and you Grace for keeping the purity of a Hammond (and Rhodes) relevant to another generation! Bless you.
I had the good fortune to recently discover her music by stumbling into a live show and I was completely blown away. She is one badass woman and a seriously intense performer- as awesome as this video is, what she's like live doesn't really translate. Catch a show, you won't be sorry!
Grace.... Enjoy your ride! You are truly gifted and amazingly talented. Some people were born to perform and entertain.... It doesn't mean that you don't get to have your own real life... But sing to us all.... Until you are ready to sing to your own family that you make someday. I hope I never hear about you in the papers and news following in the footsteps of the classic rock stars... with overdose and addiction. I hope you stay who YOU are and show us how to rock the right way!!
I can't remember if it was 07 or 08, but I had just got a DVR, and I would record this channel before I left for work every day. when I got home one night I hit play and was tokin up and this came on. I was blown away and fell in love with that voice immediately. My gf got home about 30 mins later and tried to delete it because I kept playing over and over lol. Good times! The fascination wore off after the tequila song with Chesney.
i totally agree everytime i hear a song i love from OTH i have to immedetally get it an put it on my ipod i just love all the music they put on the show :D
I'm in the obsession phase... I have all 4 albums in my car and just cycle through them. Unless I'm watching or a duet on youtube I'm pretty much not hearing anything but GPN these days. :)
I've been desperate trying to find out about a new band lately. This is a bit different than the classic rock I listen to, but still... I like the sound of the band.
@debodeyo Amos Lee was fantastic tonight on Jimmy Fallon with the Roots as his backup band. The man has one of the finest voices in music today. Imagine seeing Amos and his band + Grace and the Nocturnals on the same bill at some 1500 seat music hall. Two of the best voices in modern music. I just put that show on my Bucket List!
You should've been at Belle Chere 2010 in Asheville and see her upclose. It was HOT as F**K but she did the most amazing show on that tiny stage with all her band. Some in the crowd of "whatevers" found out what a REAL concert/rock jam was all about. None of this pop shit culture. Us old dudes, man, this chick embodies everything that was great about late-60's/thru the 70's REAL rock divas like Stevis, and Grace (Slick), and even Janis (Joplin not Ian)..I left totally satisfied.
i absolutly love this song! some who plays piano should transcribe this song on piano for me please!!! i really wanna play this song on the piano and i cant find it anywhere... so please, anyone!
@Coojo78 Insightful comment and yes, she does have a Amos Lee vibe. Imagine if they ever did a duet. Put me down for a copy! (PS - Amos' new CD is amazing and well worth the money.)
As a musician who's the son of a hunt club manager, I'd like to think music and private fire arm possession can live in harmony... no pun intended:P (Oh, but handguns should probably be a little harder to get than a gallon of milk, eh.?. :S I appeal to the line of reasoning that says cars can be lethal and we test people for driver's licenses, so same for concealed carry, I think~shrug~) Anyway, kudos to Grace Potter and the other neo-soul/folk/whatever people out there! :D
@PappyCaligula You know it. Not only was I there, too, but i FILMED it. Search under Grace Potter Bele Chere (only one 'l', not two) to check out my clips. First 4 songs up as of today, more coming, check back! Grace rocks!!
the band is touring like crazy right now. make sure to check their website to see them live near you!! gracepotter. com You will not be sorry. This band KICKS @SS LIVE!!!!
@jonny17121 I have been thinking the exact same thing! How is it possible that Lady Gaga is mega famous and when I mention Grace Potter, nobody knows who I am talking about!
@raysalsa1 well... your statement implies that comparing gp&n to a 60's 70's band is logical. gp&n are the product of many influences, the 60s-70s included, were the 'best' from the past starting out today or at a similar stage in their careers they would not sound the same as they once ddi because they would have difgferent influences. The fact that GP&N sound like this TODAY is what makes them stand apart. put them back in time and they would not sound the same, i'd suspect a bluesier sound.
@jonny17121 If you were a MTV executive you would do the same, simply cause its what its selling in this business its not about what you think its talent its about selling it.
i've had the pleasure of seeing her twice and she's way better live than on the albums. her voice makes me melt...
Just wow.
she has the most beautiful voice i have ever heard if anyone deserves stardom its her.!!!!!!
They played our Blues Fest this weekend and I got to meet them....really nice people, love their music!
Kenny Chesney deserves some kudos for bringing Grace and her band to the notice to alot of people that may not have ever found her......the whole band is fantastic.....to my ears easily one of the best out there...any genre
i first hear this song on all my children and i hunted it down till i found it. i love it, it touches something inside me. beautiful song.....

She is so f'ng fantastic, she should be so famous, I don't understand why not...She really is an outstanding, amazing talent. Beautiful song, too!
an angle came down from heaven and sang me this song, blown away
I just discovered this band today!! They are amazing and so talented. The lyrics hit close to home in this song.
I liked a comment on a video you liked 11 hearts years ago. I didn't realize until I liked it. ♥️🙏
I always say that 'God's grace' has gotten me through so much ... people just don't seem to realize that I'm talking about HER music in most cases!
Beautiful voice, plays a B3.if only I were 20 years younger. I love the bands sound, and you Grace for keeping the purity of a Hammond (and Rhodes) relevant to another generation! Bless you.

I love this song. Something about it, is very peaceful.
Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this woman will save rock 'n roll.
😂 10 years later

It's amazing to see me reading through this scene of love & fear .... Grace writes lyrics older than her years!

Dope ass song. On this particular song her style kind of reminds me of a female Amos Lee. Check him out for those of you who haven't.
I very much do like Graces music when she stays the white side of blues
AND…that seems to be an up and down proposition…?
Good song
@jonny17121 Amen
Amazing talent! But can I keep my 2nd ammendment rights?
@scheidenberger Best new music since I discovered Eva Cassidy.
@jonny17121 right on
@2712blue i like your comment nice and original.
ONE TREEEE HILLLLLL

too late for a soliloquy, way too late for dignity; it's time for apologies...
Speed,alarm,bark what is the meaning?
today's Stevie Nix
