  • REVIEW VIDEO, it's just my opinion! these aren't mine, they are loaned to me for written articles and I'm totally independent to say what I like. My primary role and full-time job is to produce written reviews but UA-cam and social media is growing quickly so please follow me on Facebook, “Chris Parkin’s Shooting Sports”. Or Instagram “chrisparkin431” for regular updates on what I am using and what’s in for review? I do not organise special setups for smooth video; you get real world footage of my experiences with the products in question. This is MY OPINION, yours may differ. Mine is based on twelve years of published reviews for magazines in England, U.S. Europe and Scandinavia. I have no reason to say nice things about what I have invested or wasted my own income in, I just say it how I think it when I encounter it. If you like this channel and would like to help support the reviews via PayPal, please use... www.paypal.com/paypalme/chris... ...and contribute to a growing video channel with regular updates.

    I also typically shoot steel's with my AT-X, and admittedly I shoot handloads, however with those it prints consistently under 0.25 moa. Love that thing.

    Yep... fair play Chris... that was a good review. Lot's of relevant detail and good clear explanation. Nothing wrong with expressing personal likes/dislikes, but facts and detail are what count and you got the balance spot on here.👍

    I like the adjustable competition trigger which has been set to 2.5lb press weight (can be as low as 12oz with the light spring).
    I can only find fault with the adjustable cheek piece which, in my opinion, would be better served with a tool-less thumbscrew design (like on the KRG Whiskey-3 for example) rather than the 4mm Hex key (the USA issued user manual shows instructions for a cheekpiece height thumb screw which doesn't appear to be available in the UK). The length of pull adjustment is by the 4mm Hex key but the USA user manual also shows a LOP thumbscrew.
    My second gripe with the cheekpiece was the lowest setting is not low enough so I spent an inordinate amount of time evaluating different BH (build height) values for mounts (eventually settling on a 14mm BH value).
    The barrel does clean easily although it did take me most of an afternoon to follow the breaking-in procedure as detailed in the user manual. It was during our summer 'heat wave' so I wasn't exactly in a rush. Once 'broken-in' it didn't take long to get an acceptable 100m zero which printed a group less than 1cm (Lapua GB458 139gr OTM bullet, 41.5gr Vihtavuori N160, Lapua 6.5CM case (COL 2,800").

    How come AI do not list the AT-X on their website or am I being blind?

      Yeah I noticed this too. Kind of makes you wonder about the longevity and factory support for the design when they haven't even bothered to show it on the AINA website.

    Key-Mod or M-lok?

    • @ianshaw7533
      @ianshaw7533 Рік тому +1

      Key-slot, it is AI proprietary. Essentially, it is key-mod with a chamfer for the hardware to create a mechanical lock, rather than just a friction lock as key-mod does.

      Can you make key mod stuff fit somehow?
