Just let Nissan fail. Nissan will just drag Honda down with it. Nissan did it to itself and it was 20 years in the making. I used to have 3 nissans in my garage circa 2010s. Now in 2024, I have 3 toyotas and 2 hondas, and will never again buy a Nissan.
Here in Philippines Toyota is a leading car brand because they make Cheap MPV, Crossover and Sedan by acquiring Daihatsu and branded here as Toyota while nissan offer only SUV and Pickup not all can afford that two categories.
strength in numbers. honda and nissan NEED each other and japan gov will push the deal. china market BIG, and foxconn wants nissan to bury toyota and honda. DO THE MERGER HONDA!
It’s a pitty almost all companies stoped their product evolution at all to favor profit… Nissan and Honda had being selling the exact same projects for so long…
The volume curves for Nissan and Honda mirrors that for total global auto sales, meaning that their global market share may not have changed as much as looking at their volumes charts in isolation may suggest. Toyota likely had their highest global market share percentage ever last year. The lower yen has negatives as well, like using those yen to pay for raw materials and devaluation of their reserves/retained earnings (in $).
honda engineering legendary good. they BOTH need the merger to compete AND stop foxconn from getting nissan. china WILL dominate without the merger. who wants that?
I use to love nissan in the 90s, their cars are still beautiful in 2024 but the cvt issue needed to be fixed 15yrs ago but they refused. By pleasing share holders they went and cut cost over and over with cheaper quality parts, the engines are decent but the cvt had to go. Hopefully if honda acquires nissan they will keep the nissan badge but use Honda transmission and engines but i know Nissan engineers are very stubborn
Nissan not only didn't develop EV nor hybrid series of any significance... Even their 3 cyl some kind of variable crank is complicating alerady too many parts in ice and had failed... Neither did Honda seriously did much accept lately selling Chinese model face lifted to look like Honda... Yet it's not an international model. Mistibushi is also in the dole drum... Better they all join together including Toyota....
I hope Honda acquires Nissan and not the other way around. I don't think Nissan has much to provide other than maybe electric vehicle knowledge.... That's out of date. I think very little of Nissan
Speaking on electric I've rented an Aryia, very nice car fun to drive but charging was terrible.... And the price isn't competitive. I would consider getting one when they count for the used EV tax credit
Honda and Nissan do make high efficient car any more. Toyota Prime example could get 41 miles along with high efficient hybrid. Other are trailing behind. Why would some one by trailing technology.
Japan was the economic miracle 35 years ago in 1989. Now China is producing most of the cars that are purchased by Chinese citizens. Japan is going down. The quality is going down. They're following the trend that was set in the USA
This is like yhe stelantis story. All big dying company joins together and dies together. Mitsubishi nissan and honda, once top brands, loved by people, has their own fan boys as we grew up, are all getting together to die together.
Nissan talked to Honda due to Foxconn's intent to buy Renault's some 23% share in Nissan. Foxconn is Apple's main iPhone assembler and having a dream of making EVs. Foxconn also plans to join Japan's SoftBank boss Mr. Song to apply Song's AI platform with his EV. It was the real intention behind the merger plan of Nissan and Honda to resist Foxconn's acquisition. There is no synergy or complementary benefit between Nissan and Honda cars. Their merging will just delay slightly towards bankruptcy.
Who cares about EV's? Hybrids are so much better. They should just focus on perfecting the hybrids and forget about the EV's. Let Tesla struggle with that one and see how far they get. Better work on finding the next generation fuel instead. Electricity has never made sense as an optimal fuel replacement for vehicles.
Not all country controls oil supply chain and petrodollars. Those countries' government would love to transition to EV because it cuts down their oil import. Which in most cases burden their public spendings and trade deficits.
EV adoption will take longer than you think. The Battery alone weighs 1000 pounds. You are basically driving a truck that maneuvers like a sports car which is deadly as this will result in many more deaths due to reckless driving. every year 40000+ die in car accidents in the US and another 2.6 million ER visits, this number will go up significantly since you have a truck disguised as an EV hit other cars. US infrastructure is not ready for mass EV adoption. Highway guard rails(run through like spaghetti), bridges, and car parks need to be updated for the increased load required. Japanese automakers are not in a rush to commercialize EVs. They are however investing heavily in R&D as the future is in EVs.
Lol western brands that are already outdated. The Chinese own this segment and will make all other brands small regiinal players or go bankrupt. Western and japanese batteries are rubbish compared to chinese
EV automobiles that rely on plugged in lithium ion batteries are not reliable in cold or/& salted water which can lead to run away thermal events & shouldn't be parked to close to a structure
Technically it's the inverter or motor that does the charging of the battery in a hybrid, but normal people don't care about. They just want reassurance they don't have to do any plugging in, and this is exactly why the term "self-charging" is so triggering for the EV weirdos. They identify so much with the cause that a rejection of EVs feels like a rejection of them. Toyota is in much better shape to help Nissan but they choose Honda to counterbalance Toyota which has become very dominant in the Japanese market.
Nissan will weaken Honda. Honda itself has stopped growing owing to Chinese brands, too much competition in Japan and a resurgent GM. Nissan should be given to Renault in a stock, no cash, merger. Renault and Nissan complement one another and could offer a global like up if Nissan quit Europe. For political reasons these companies never shared enough technology but this would lead to lay offs. Hyandai, Kia, Subaru and Mazda combined have killed Nissan and salled Honda growth. This gov pressure explained why Honda cut its GM partnership.
This is a temporary storm. By that I mean the forced EV movement, the Chinese car manufacturing invasion waging a price war is new and will settle. The truths with the EV mandates and Chinese cars (quality, support and life cycle) will soon be known and settle the market. As with many Chinese low cost war strategy, people get surprised and allure initially bringing high sales. Soon people will realise the quality differences, environmental concerns associated with low cost which is low quality and low retention spans. As well as the down side of high turnover rates (low retention) one being on a debt treadmill, lack of affordable 3rd party parts, low time period to customise and enjoy a debt free, customised period of ownership (Classic car period). Car manufacturers are battening the hatches to weather this out. It is a sign of great flexibility to withstand changing environment even if temporary.
It's all come down to reliability and value.. 99% of buyers don't care about fancy gimmick technology and trendy design.... they only care about a good well built car with good craftsmanship along with an affordable price.... do that, and your cars will sell like Starbucks coffees
Starbucks did badly in Australia😁😁. Honda sold a grand total of about 1400 vehicles in October+ November here. HA needs to take a long hard look at the marketplace, dump their business model, trust their dealer network, up spec their vehicles to industry standard, improve their engines and drop their prices by at least $7,000. If they don't then the future of Honda in Australia is very bleak.
EVs are NOT ready for prime-time here in the US. WE DO NOT HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT THIS AT THIS TIME!!! If those who are so gung-ho about EV adoption move to China, I'm sure you will love it there. Personally, I am so freaking tired of the EVs being shoved down throats. Heck, you are told to "charge your EV outside of your house or garage." Again, EVs are no ready for prime-time in the US.
There even are EVs in third world countries like Sri Lanka and you think this can't be supported?😂 EVs are here to stay. No political agenda can change that. Pollution in huge cities is so menacing in many cities all around the globe there is no other way but to substitute a lot of vehicles with EVs. You "we don't have the infrastructure" crybabies. There are whole cities getting rebuilt after wars within some years. All of Norway shifted towards EV infrastructure in just some years. If governments WANTED they could make shifts like that within 5-10 years. You just need to throw money at it and will create tenthousands of jobs on the way. It's big oil money preventing these changes.
honda has great engineering to share, what's the downside if nissan gets better? your thinking is helping china foxconn get control of nissan. VERY DANGEROUS.
If those 3 brand merge then the Chinese will surely have something to be worried about ! Still in SE ASIA JAPANESE CARS ARE STILL BEING PREFERRED AND TRUST WORTHY compared to Chinese made .
That's not the case anymore. Toyota's quality control is horrible now. Do the research - they have problems throughout their product line. 2024 will be known as the year Toyota destroyed their reputation. Honda has been declining for the past 20 years, and Nissan is pure garbage.

Me either. I learned never buy another Nissan back in 1982.
I will never buy another Nissan. Learned that lesson by 1982.
my Nissan is fine. I love my Nissan. speak for yourself.
@@butchsunga4596 ...just for the GTR...hope that never happens... C'mon Nissan you can do it..
Sylphy used to be the highest selling car in China. Now they struggle to give them away.
The only car I miss is Nissan Skyline GTR. It's legend.
Here in Philippines Toyota is a leading car brand because they make Cheap MPV, Crossover and Sedan by acquiring Daihatsu and branded here as Toyota while nissan offer only SUV and Pickup not all can afford that two categories.
Hope you're wrong,, hate to see Japanese car manufacturers crash.

Honda may be able to benefit by acquiring and improving the truck division of Nissan, hopefully they bring back the "Hard body" name.
honda engineering legendary good. they BOTH need the merger to compete AND stop foxconn from getting nissan. china WILL dominate without the merger. who wants that?
Would you buy a new Nissan car right now? All these merger uncertainties make me reconsider my decision to buy a new Nissan Qashqai

Nissan can't even afford themselves that why they're in their situation.
they NEED each other to compete in china. they better do the deal for BOTH OF THEM.
i don't see why buying a failing company will help honda. honda must not be doing as well as reported.
Here is the fruit of clinging to using CVTs
Toyota is a one man show.
I use to love Nissan. One of the reason why Nissan isn’t selling is because their cars are ugly as sin.
Hoping China shakes older car manufacturers from their pedestal and force them to lower their prices
Honda and Nissan do make high efficient car any more. Toyota Prime example could get 41 miles along with high efficient hybrid. Other are trailing behind. Why would some one by trailing technology.
I love Nissan but this has me rolling on the floor 9:24

DON'T DISCOUNT KOREA!!!
But the quality of the Japanese cars is still the best.
This is like yhe stelantis story. All big dying company joins together and dies together. Mitsubishi nissan and honda, once top brands, loved by people, has their own fan boys as we grew up, are all getting together to die together.
Toyota can swallow all 3 in 1 Svelte swoop

我笑了这些都是弱弱联合垃圾也改变不了日本还有这些对中国汽车威胁😅
“Honda Frontier” doesn’t exist.
Nissan is very expensive
When you have a CCP shill talking about Japan, you know you have avoid the entire channel 🤣
Feelings hurt? = mission accomplished 😂
I drive a Subaru, love the car, I think electric cars are expensive and take too long to charge.
Yeah the 30 minute charge to get 80% battery is too long .
Good video learn more

Unless the Japanese manufacturers can produce vehicles consumers want to buy otherwise they're going to go under.
never

GO KIA!!! GO HYUNDAI!!!
The problem is any brand you buy now is all garbage... people catch on eventually.
Kia and Hyundai isn't relevant in most of Asia. Toyota is everywhere.
Honibishi

Facts. I'd add a well-backed warranty.

Good. The world moves on and US could become Britain 2.0
The world will move back to ice cars after failed EV experiments.

Toyota, trouble ? are you taking some prescription drugs ?
Nissan, ok trouble. Honda, maybee. Toyota ?
Its the best brand, and great cars and engines.
He disqualifies himself. He doesn't know shit about what he's talking about.
Go n research Tundra engines. Rigged safety test, thousands of recalls. Etc. Etc.
How about German cars like Mercedes Benz or bmw ?
Their end is coming soon. Either they shutter their operations or be taken over by Chinese auto makers like BYD or Geely
Chinese automakers have no profits if no government subsidy.
Maybe ask a specialist instead of him.
Mitsubishi tops honda nissan toyota they have sh.t together Son owns 2017 Mitsubishi outlander sport purchased new 215000 on it
ill never buy a nissan if they merge with honda
honda has great engineering to share, what's the downside if nissan gets better? your thinking is helping china foxconn get control of nissan. VERY DANGEROUS.
Out prizes in ZA
HON-SAN or NIS-DA 🤔🧐❤ New Name
