Yes they are DONE 😂 4y.. I need to get it restored for sure. And yes, I’ll have to fix the height, thanks for the advice! Fanatec definitely still a great option but I think Moza is the future. Hopefully they’ll offer console compatible gear soon!
Hi, thanks for the video and review. Do you know if the lower Moza bases (R3 andR5) also suffer the same FFB issue and need a firmware update as well? I can't afford a R12, so I am looking at the R3/5 as an option. Thanks
I know the update that they released for the R12 should ultimately be available for all of their wheelbases. I have heard people with the R9 already did it. Not sure if the R3 and R5 had the same issue but if they did I am sure the update will be available ;)
As soon as I read into Fanatec having lots of issues with shipping and meeting any basic service demands I shopped Moza and haven't looked back. The R9 setup is fantastic, would have went with a 12 but my F-GT Lite cockpit wouldn't do OK with that many newton to the meter. You definitely have to get into pithouse and adjust the stuff for proper feedback. That is a detractor out of the box, not as easy. But Moza is a company that will continue to exist as of all info available right now. Fanatec not so much.
We're building a rig with a lot of second-hand parts (I call it the Franken-rig). When shopping pre-loved wheelbases, what should we be aware of? However, for the price point, the Moza may be an option... 🤔
I’ve been getting the same on hard right turns with my Fanatec 8nm base but luckily it comes back after a few seconds without having to restart. I honestly don’t know why it happens but it’s messed up a couple of races for me for sure. I’m debating whether to get the new 15nm or maybe change to Asetek or Moza.
I want to try force feedback in a pedal - although I'm a bit curious about what that simulates. The wheel seems to make sense, but not sure what sort of feel I'd get through a pedal in a real car.
I have sim lab pedals ( see the test, its the best value pedals, just excellent, better than asetek forte or HE ultimate, it s just crazy), simagic alpha mini ( i don t need more Nm), gt neo with a better clear release . The cost is a little bit higher but a lot better than moza, even if your material is good .

Goodluck with the Moza gear, I still like to play some titles on console so I have to stick with my Fanatec gear.
@@SarahNocchi Thank you for the response!
You will notice that as you adjust the "Road Sensitivity", the values in the "FFB Effect Equalizer" adjust automatically.
i love the on the fly tuning menu fanatec have with their wheels i think moza missed an opportunity to have that on their vision gs wheel.
Probably only a software release away.
We're building a rig with a lot of second-hand parts (I call it the Franken-rig). When shopping pre-loved wheelbases, what should we be aware of?
However, for the price point, the Moza may be an option... 🤔
Girl looking fit! Very nice set up! I love it.
The cost is a little bit higher but a lot better than moza, even if your material is good .
my D1 is dead I ordered the Mozza R21 with the GS Wheel. II will receive it tomorrow I hope that with a good adjustment it will be fine thanks for the comment it reassures me a little :)
Wow nice! You won't regret it, how are you enjoying them?
@@TravisHi_YT No I don't regret it in fact with the new beta firmware I find the result quite close to my DD1. a few more small adjustments and it will be perfect ! The QR is better than the qr1 fanatec !
You got the base huh 😬 so I own the R12 ( bought it like 3 months ago ) and after the recent update I’ve been having telemetry issues with mines. I also own a La Prima wheel base from asetek that came in a few weeks ago and no issues whatsoever, with my Bavariansimtec Omega Pro wheel and it’s a great combination. It does come down to preference though.
Moza base is the best one ive ever used
I've got moza r9 v2 it is a great wheel great video keep it up 💯 👍 💪 👌🏻 👏🏾
Yes Moza has great products! Thanks for watching :)
Sure you can raise the mount?. Thats crazy id go for high vs low. Mines always been to low on standard rig. (Gt omega titan)
Hi Sarah. I think you definitely made a great choice that you avoided Fanatec. Unfortunately apart from the Logistics they seem to have so many problems these days... I am a happy DDPro 8nm owner but thinking about any future fanatec updates has me worried🤔
Yes they sure do, unfortunately! I do still like their products, but not the best value on the market anymore. We should know soon about their future!
if you're using a usb hub it could be that is the reason why you lose ffb i was using one and no force feedback i unplugged it restarted wheel base and had force feedback again i use a moza r9 i was using the moza usb hub maybe that can help some people drove me crazy for days trying to find out why i had no ffb
I love my moza R16 over my fanatec DD1
I like them both, but I think Moza's value surpasses Fanatec currently
@@SarahNocchi agreed!!!!
I love moza . Love from Belgium
How come you stopped the F1 course preview/history/drive-and-talk? Those were so handy, I absolutely loved watching them! 😢
I am so sorry! I just haven't had time :( work has been very busy.
I have also been working on a new format for these, as I have had some copyright issues by using videos from old races.. But I am working on the Monza one as we speak!
@@SarahNocchi oh that's ok, don't apologize. I was just wondering, letting you know I did really enjoy them. I was wondering if it was a FOM issue though.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I really enjoy making these but they were not shown to most people because of copyright stuff. Hopefully the new format will help with that a bit
I am ps5, fanatec is my only best option unfortunately. Nice review👍👍
Thanks! Fanatec is still a good option. But hopefully other brands will make gear compatible with PS5 too
@@SarahNocchi Fingers crossed, however, Sony compatibility is terrible so I don't see it in any foreseeable future. Thanks and good luck
I've got an R9 and a KS wheel, you definitely made the right choice going the Moza pathway.
I'm so glad I dodged a bullet last black friday sale and didn't get the Fanatec deals! The Moza is sooo good for what you pay.
I think the better option was to go for just clubsport dd wheelbase and qr2. Idk how chinese company that use resellers can be more safer buy. If the reseller go out of business good luck by making Chinese accept warranty request :))
Can i use Thrustmaster pedals and shifter with moza r12 base and wheel right?
Simagic also got force feedback pedals
Hi Sarah 👋🏻 what if you put multiple M8 metallic washers between your base and the support? It could elevate your base while staying steady.
Good idea, I’ll try it! Thanks!!
The fanatec clubsport dd+ is way ahead in feeling to the old dd1 so still beats this Moza I’d say.
Have you tried the Logitech G Pro?
No I haven’t yet
I've heard that wheel is phenomenal, they've also dropped the price down to like $700 for wheel only. Theirs is 12 Nm I believe and also the true force feature adds another layer to compliment the wheel. Only downside why I decided against, they don't have any optional wheel upgrades and no backlit buttons on the wheel.
And is the Cammus c12 on the same level?
tbh fanatec force feedback feels more refined
moza is new to simracing it will take time for them to make ffb more smoother/raw
Did you try the R12 with the new firmware? It makes a fairly big difference!
@@SarahNocchi no i try ed r21 it has more torque
@@Team_Reaper.you obviously have no clue what you’re talking about. Fanatec is junk and there dd1 and dd2 never felt right! And moza definitely beats fanatec in every way there is! Fanatec fan boys always say moza isn’t good. Meanwhile you tried a moza r21 you say but you didn’t mess with settings or get it dialed in so you can’t even say fanatec won against something you didn’t even truly get setup right!
@@SIMRIG412 im not a fanatec fanboy im a simagic fan boy
does my comment hurt you huh ?
Moza have already come a long way.
According to RandomCallsign the new firmware makes the R12 feel indistinguishable from a Fanatec ClubSport DD and much smoother and less grainy in general. The software evolution is significant.
What headset are you wearing 8:05? Thanks!
Razor BlackShark v2 pro!
Moza is just the way to go
I think they will replace Fanatec in the future
@@SarahNocchi I’d argue they already have. The prices can’t be beat for the quality you get.
Very true!
Does the Moza overheat after some minutes?
Why did you do the swopp
As far as I remember, Fanatec is also working on rewriting the firmware for CSL/GT DD which should improve the FFB.
Hopefully if they are still in business. I am also waiting for full force 🤞🏼
That would be awesome!
What monitor stand do you use
R5 and R12 actually im running this firmware on the 5
Oh cool! I thought they hadn’t released it on the other ones yet. Are you happy with the changes?
@@SarahNocchiYeah it's great pedals where calibrating weird though if I remember correctly
Why are you're monitoring hanging downward?
tweak the setting for the oscillation effects on the straight away.
499$ for 12Nm, that's the real deal from Moza :")
Yes!! Incredible value for the price
The question you should be asking is why Moza is selling an R12 base at that price. Everyone is drinking the Moza cool-aid right now. Lol…. Most Ppl are still new to this industry and how things work. Moza is just Fanetec 2.0
@@Breeezy333 Hmm, maybe sounds naive but it could be just for competition you think ? The Direct Drive market at the moment is pretty saturated I believe, this actually blow a wind into it, just like when Fanatec decided to launch the Ready2Race bundle, just for competition
@@buster-thevirtualracer9104 Moza has come into the ring a young fighter swinging for the quick knockout trying to imprint themselves everywhere, but whats their identity. Part of Fanetec’s downfall was not staying in their lane. Unfortunately whether it’s sim racing games or companies such as equipment the big slower methodical moving companies last. Ppl have completely shit on Thrustmaster, Logitech, etc. but these companies will last because their identity is solid. But to be honest the true answer for Moza’s markdowns is because they know their products are not as good as their marketing and they are striking will the irons hot. Lol…. They just pumped out two VISION wheels and Active pedals and ppl are literally talking about Moza is the best company in all of Sim Racing. Moza management is incredibly smart, their taking advantage of below average intelligence. But it will only last so long and then everyone will talk about Moza’s stale and move on to the next new thing.
@@Breeezy333Les autres sont plus chers que Moza, parce que ce sont des voleurs 👌
When a downgrade is actually an upgrade. Moza rocks.
Exactly!
@@SarahNocchi I was tossing up between Moza and Fanatech before they had all the financial trouble. Luckily, I chose Moza just before everything went to s h i t e. I've seen people have so many problems with Fanatech stuff as well. Moza is so simple to use and a really solid product. I'm hoping the Moza active pedal system comes in under my budget.
@@brett22bt great choice for sure! I always loved Fanatec but hated their customer support. And now the entire thing is a nightmare.
Moza is very promising, great value, and they really listen to their customers. I am really curious to see the price of the active pedals!
@@SarahNocchi Cheers, good luck with your new Moza.
Hi Sarah: you have also a simucube, or am I wrong?
I do! It’s on my other setup. Simucube is the highest quality out there, but comes at a price.
@@SarahNocchi I know... I am planning on getting the 2 pro on black Friday. It will be a huge step up from the g29 I am currently using, but I am sure about it. I just hope the 3 won't be announced soon.
My fanatec clubsport DD 12nm is fantastic ..
I am not against Fanatec! I said I love it and had zero issues until now. Products are great, company not so much
The real racing driver said that the 8Nm ~ 12Nm is the most accurate feeling sweet spot and everything else is just scam to sell their product.
Might be true. I think it’s a question of what type of cars you drive and potential longevity of the wheelbase. It’s a hypothesis but I would expect that if you are always lower than it can handle, it’ll probably last longer.
can i buy that used fanatec from u?
for gt 7 dotn ever pick moiza IT dosnt work go instead fanatec dd extreme and any wheel
the best direct drive base on the market is simucube you have been misinformed
I agree. I have a simucube 2 pro on my other rig. Only comparing Moza to Fanatec, not saying Moss is the best on the market
Osculation is what happens in real life when you drive straight at high speeds and the road is uneven
Definitely! But it would happen regardless of the road
AMS2 with custom ffb, its a different game!
Hmmm, Im still not convinced with the Moza gear…at least until they are compatible with Sony’s PS5. Having said that tho I do like the upcoming mBoosters for the CRP2. Great video anyhow Sarah. Enjoy the Dutch GP!
Yes they definitely need to make their gear compatible with consoles. Hopefully in the future. The mBooster may be a game changer in the industry, depending on the price.
Thanks for watching!
@@SarahNocchi at least they have Xbox support tho! Maybe Corsair will still be Fanatec’s knight in shining armour? Time will tell!
Yes! And very curious to see what ends up happening with Fanatec. I still think they have very good products, but their value really decreased for me recently.
if you want ps5 support thrustmaster, and fanatec are your best choice
