That's had a really hard bang in the front to do all that damage ... wow the parts are going to be a fortune can't wait to see you guys fix it . Great episode cool to see a w12 engine out the car... Great engineering good luck guys
Crazy informative video!! Thanks for this. At 15:57, there's a hose pipe that seems to be hanging loose disconnected right behind the brown ground wires. Do you know where it attaches? The top part attaches to a hard steel line which goes into the intake manifold. But the bottom part is a mystery. This hose is also loose on mine and causing errors.
Most interesting to see how a small front accident has so a large impact! Was tempted buying a Bentley GTC with front damage...but you have warned me! THX for this interesting episode
That actually looks like a pretty hard hit with an immovable object like a pole or a tree. It had to smash quite a bit of stuff before it got that deep into the hood.
Yes, must have been some form of narrow object so the force came straight in at the center of the front and continued to knock the engine back. And more buckling of the sides of the front than actual impact. And the engine mounts broke before sending too much forces into the subframe. So almost all of the impact handled by the drive line.
The damages to engine and driveline are absurd compared to the damages to the body. Looks like it hit a Bollard or similar type of narrow "unmovable" object directly centered
Looks like the car took a massive hit right between the chassis rails, hence the centre of the bonnet is dented and the drive train got shunted 2 inches backwards... no way is that a little hit... and looks like the car rode up over something - the underneath is all gouged too. You have to ask the owner what the hell happened! And why was all that stuff disconnected all over the car? Just bizarre
Putting a Merc 55 AMG engine swap in with your manual conversion would make this GTC AWESOME........ Maybe a should swap your Merc 55 manual swap in my Porsche 928S
Most custom shops will try to be at least a little aggressive if they know that is how the customer is likely to drive. Obviously they will try not to get arrested when doing so, but if the customer's complaint is while driving at 75%, driving it at 50% won't find it.
@@deciplesteve Did you even watch the video? The E55 was not in for a "complaint" or because of an issue that needed to be found, it's getting manual swapped apparently. So basically these guys popped in a manual trans and decided to start romping on the customers car...not professional
@@scottmason1012 I have worked in several custom car shops, and they have all tested builds in this manner. Burnouts, launches, 2-steps. I would rather break the car before giving it back to you, rather than giving it to you untested. How do I know if your new turbo is making all 35psi, unless I hit 35psi myself?
expensive chassis indeed, and my concern would be for the hidden damage to the components behind the firewall as well as the drivetrain itself. not that these parts cannot be repaired or replaced, mind you, but add to the mix the unknown factor of missing components, this could be a white elephant. ultimately though, it is the customer that will be making the determination on "worth" for the project, and if their pockets are deep enough and you are willing to venture in, by all means, please do so. i look forward to the content. i also second the idea of getting a crew together to film footage. perhaps you could team up with some local film students and work with them?? as always, quite impressive.
no point! Better off parting it out take the hit that way of the difference and buy another one! wouldn't be worth much after the repairs and a rebuilt title plus good luck with all tiny parts and electronics! took tavarish a long ass time! I'd honestly keep him in the loop!
That has got to be THE nastiest driveline damage I've ever seen from a single impact. Driveshaft, transmission, oil cooler, subframe, engine, steering AND exhaust all fucked? Jesus.
I can't see how this is worth doing, the car has substancial damage, and it will cost a fortune to get back running ! The impact was severe there's no doubt about that, maybe not high speed, but given how much the car weighs it doesn't take much to do that kind of damage... And the fact somone has been playing with it before doesn't inspire much to me.
These (newer) cars are never meant to be disassembled. Literal throw away garbage designed to be satisfactory if they make it out of warranty. Car engineering for quality or value peaked long ago and the emphasis has shifted to gadgetry.
The more deformation of the car, the less impact on the passenger(s).... but the more impact on your wallet. Although i rank your skills very high i fear that the Bentley has reached its final destination: the junkyard.
So this is a fix and resell I'm guessing? This thing is trashed. Its a part out guys. Broken castings everywhere, missing parts, bent everything else. Strip it and ebay it.
I guess thats what happens when the engine is the crashbar :/ The guy about the sl diesel below me is right tho haha Also nice job on the 55, even tho its very functional its kinda a shame honestly. That open wheel f1 look was really good, but gotta do everything in the name of performance, traction and aerodynamics, right?
Crap. Internal combustion tech is an ancient crap. Became too complicated. Just compare the countless amount of parts this crap has with a quantity of parts any electric car have.
You guys need to be wearing masks and keep two meters apart, which you didn't do. If this is how you have been working, you should arrange a covid test. There are several testing centres in Peel. Posting this video also indicates to your customers how seriously you take the situation.
If the W12 doesn't work, you still have the perfectly good diesel from the 380 SL
That would be sick
Lolol

can't wait, this was very interesting damage that vehicle had, thanks for taking the time in documenting this
Bentley; when your Volkswagen isn't nearly expensive enough. Love the video
Have you ever considered registering the e55 in Ontario? on the surface it seems possible for homebuilt cars
two vr6 engine's mated at the crank! very nice.

When you refill with antifreeze what type do you use and are there any bleed issues or is it just drain and fill ?
Any update on the manual E55 swap? Did u get the electronic issue sorted out?
Do you know how to turn a 2013 S63 AMG from a automatic to a manual.
Seems like you need to look for bigger shop, so many big projects like that ,taking all the space in the shop.great video as always!👍🙂

How many hours to get engine out?
About 3 hours, not as bad as it looks
@@BLACK_BY_POPULAR_DEMAND want to put new uppgrade turbo and race cats is that engine out job?
that engine is massive 👍
Just because subframe is not damaged and still align with bolt holes doesn't mean the chassis is not damaged in other areas from shock transfer

Rear caliper emergency brakes disconnected for towing.
My guess is, more than likely, drunk driving. And the customer didn't get in trouble because they were able to "take care" of it.
Front impacts shattering the entire drivetrain... Another wonderful side effect of VAG, out over the front axle, engine placement. 😬 😂
Someone may have mentioned this but I would turn the engine backwards! (you said you tried it either way)
