You should make a shirt that states “you do not need to wait 48 hours to report a missing person” it’s so sad that this is not commonly known to this day.
Police will still try and talk you into believing they ran away willingly. It's really disgusting
Knowing that won't help if the authorities are not willing to TAKE the report..
Yeah this happens all the time 😢 Especially if they are drug users... But I think that just makes finding them all the more important... 🤷🏼♀️ This all so sad ... Praying her family finds the answers they need and she is found alive 🙏
I have a shirt that says this, wear as much as I can, and it also says on the shirt state wide, bc I feel some feel like it may be their state or area that has this rule. Not true, it’s not true anywhere and I can tell you right now, I’d be faking that I’m a cop if a department told me to wait, I’d get a fake badge so I could do my own search until the cops cared to be involved, I’d go absolutely nuts and sleep in the damn Police station parking lot!! I’m a wild and crazy and go ahead and jail me bc I want the best and want to protect my children!! In no way would I ever allow them to tell me that have to wait even if my children are 55 years old!!! Helll nahhhh!!! Nobody, I mean Nobody knows my babies that I carried and have cared and loved for all their lives like I do, not no body weather bffs or family I know them best! & I wish police stations would recognize this! It is absolutely ridiculous!!
I agree!
Tired of people acting like specific groups of people are expendable. Her addiction doesn’t make her less of a person.
It should make her more protected tbh because I feel as though she's more at risk for certain things than someone who has never had an addiction
!! This!
Sorry but it does. Society as a whole is better without weak people like her.
No, her addiction doesn't matter! I am sad that her mother did not take some responsability for how her choices and parenting put this poor child through so much.
@@raybuggy11YES. They are literally more at risk, and this can’t be understated!
I love that you don’t only do murders. It’s so important to cover current cases especially of missing people.
If you want missing person covers, listen to detective perspective, it's great!
I love that too. I've stopped following several channels because they went from a mix of true crime to only murders and I can't handle that.
Thank you for covering her case and all the cases that aren't getting the coverage they need and deserve! ❤
Agreed. Ive also stopped watching channels who only cover solved cases.
I really appreciate those channels whose videos mainly focus on the missing, unsolved and Doe cases.
I HATE this for her family, but I HAVE TO BRING THIS UP. I live in Oregon, if anyone is familiar with our current epidemic of drug abuse- a horrifying realization that recently hit my city is a journalist when into large homeless encampments to talk with those struggling and living in them. The journalist was shown a small area where people had buried their fellow homeless friends who had overdosed. It was a makeshift cemetery. One guy said that he buried his girlfriend because he knew she hated her family and didn’t want anything to do with them. I feel that a search party should be rounded up and people need to go into the homeless encampments in their area and ask around.
That's very helpful. Maybe you and the person who was told this first hand should make this information known to law enforcement
I was going to say the same thing as I live in Nebraska and we lost my cousin, to an addiction and running in that crowd and found out 4 years later that she was out homeless In Portland Or again.
I contacted Layla's mom several times and let her know to reach out to you about this case! So glad it worked out and this case is getting attention! Thanks for all you do!
Kendall you got my wife and I through opiate withdrawal a couple years back when we first got sober. You seriously got us through that week of hell! Thank you so much for everything!
From one recovering addict to another, I’m wishing you and your wife the best! We do recover🙌🏼
I'm a opiate addict myself and I watched Kendall during some very dark times. her voice soothes me. keep it up, glad you're sober!
As the other user said, coming from another addict (recovering - 4 years as of January), congratulations. Opiates are so soooo hard to kick. Proud of you guys!
You guys did that yourselves. And you should be proud of that.
Wife here, thanks guyyyyysss! Very nice to read and for sure needed to hear that today 🥰
As a nurse, I feel a grave suspicion that Layla may have overdosed beyond survival, and someone who fears punishment has concealed that information.
I also made that assumption, but let’s just hope for the best.
Honestly, I have the same feeling. As someone who used to hang around adicts
I thought that as well.
Yes
I agree with this. Either that or the boyfriend knows something
I know they said the boyfriend had nothing to do with it, but my gut says otherwise. If he's shitty enough to send those threatening cash app demands and put her family through that, he's capable of a lot more. If she wanted to leave him, that's a big reason for murder, as we all know. Or, maybe she overdosed and he freaked and buried her somewhere? I don't know, but I hope her family gets answers soon and I pray she's ok!
This is my thinking too💔
I think so too
Exactly.
I did notice that the news reporter stated that the police have said that there is “no evidence” that he is involved, that is very different to them saying unequivocally that he is not involved.
I knew the minute she said he asked his brother what it meant that he was the one sending them. Hell I had a feeling before they even said that , that it was him because the only way to even login to a cash app or most accounts like that is too sign in from a recognized device or have access to the phone number or email associated with the account for a verification code to sign in. So I was already thinking it was him, but I knew for sure when it said he asked his brother what twlmg meant and his brother just randomly knew ? Come on now!
As someone who lives 15 miles from Layla's city and has watched every one of her poor mother's videos, thank you so so much for covering this case! Stories like Laylas are the ones that need to be shared. So happy to start seeing some real coverage for Layla.💜
Hey there! I'm 30 minutes outside of nashville and I agree!!! These cases need to be share so Layla can be brought home or at the very least given justice as well as Sebastian rogers, and summer wells
Not taking addicts or s*x workers (the other vulnerable group) disappearances seriously is saying those people committing crime against them dont have to worry about being investigated.. so ridiculous. Addiction actually effects all classes. Sorry for this family and her child.
That is profoundly well said.
👏👏👏
She may have been suffering from substance abuse disorder but she is still a human, a daughter, granddaughter, and a mother. She deserves awareness, and to be found no matter what! Jennifer and her family deserves answers and to have her daughter home! Thank you Kendall for covering this case, you’re truly amazing to so many victims and their families!❤
Yes! She is just as deserving of awareness and I wish we’d see more cases like this in traditional media. Shout out to the true advocates like Kendall! ❤
Thank you for labeling correctly. The term “addict” and “addiction” keeps the stigma going. We are not our disease and we do recover!
Substance Abuse is an illness, no different than any other illness! I E, CANCER,COPD, DIABETES, KIDNEY DISEASE ETC. PLEASE NEVER HAVE CRITICISM FOR THESE PEOPLE - FAMILIES GO THROUGH A LIVING HELL; AS IT WOULD ANY FAMILY 😢
AND HER BABY!❤🙏🙌
@@helenchilds7719 im a recovering addict and no its not the same as cancer or diabetes, how disrespectful to compare it to such. at the end of the day we still made our own choices, every relapse is a choice even if its brought on by severe mental issues. someone whose cancer is in remission and comes back, is NOT A CHOICE.
Yes, Amen.... And Christ helps with it. I'm in recovery at the moment. substance abuse disorder is real, and can effect anyone. We all have something we deal with. Our Redeemer is our Lord and Savior Jesus 🫂.
Kevin la Ewing has videos on these situations. It helped me to start to overcome.
May anyone struggling with @nything turn to God. ❤ he wants all of us. 🥲
One hard part is she looks different in every picture shared. I hope they find her, no family should go through that.
True!
oh for sure, i think snapchat filters don't help with developing a clear picture of what she looks like unfortunately. i can see why for her missing poster the cops chose the candid pic (screenshot?) of her with her hair in a bun standing on the street, probably the most accurate photo of her likeness.
Drug use can alter your appearance pretty heavily unfortunately
I thought so too
i agree they need more recent pictures and without filters. Ive seen this story on tik tok and every video and picture the family shares she looks different. As well as the police description not matching with the pictures.
Hi Kendall... just wanted to say that as a family member of a victim whos case you have covered in the past, I applaud, appreciate and thank you from my heart for everything youve done and continue to do on behalf of victims and their loved ones everywhere. You have given a voice to the silenced innocent ones and for that I am forever inspired, touched and grateful. Blessings to you and your beautiful family always. 🩷💛🩷💛🩷
Blessings for your family as well 💗
May God continue to give your family strength to heal from your loss, and to share their story to help others ❤️❤️
@@aj32769 So kind, thank you!! ❤❤
@@maisyyy6956 Thank you for your kind words, much love ❤❤
What story was it??
💯 the boyfriend is responsible. How can they even think he isn't, especially after the cash app scenario.
I think so too. It has to be someone who knows her, knows the names and cashapp contacts of her family, both the mom and step mom,... it has to be someone who knows this info so they can exploit this situation.
AGREE
The boyfriend knows more than he lets on
You make me feel smart.
I agree 100%
The fact that the family thinks people will care less because Layla had problems with addiction is so heartbreaking
😢
I’m a member of the Lumbee Tribe and I’m involved in the MMIP movement in NC. Please look into the 2017 connected murders of 3 women from the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina that were found weeks apart in Lumberton NC. I have connections to all 3 families and can connect you with them. The last woman murdered gave to police the name of the drug dealer that killed the other two and they refused to do anything to she went on the news talking about it and she was found the next week. This case has no justice solely because of the corruption of the Robeson County police department. RIP Christina Bennett, Rhonda Jones, and Megan Oxendine
I'm so sorry, I hope Kendall sees this!
Kendall has a case suggestion and request form you can fill out and submit this request. Please take the time to put this request in on her form. You can find it in the descriptions under the video.
I'd be very interested in this case, and there's no better true crime channel than Kendall!!
Indigenous women are treated so poorly and neglected so severely by this country, and it's horrifically unfair
I have heard about this case.
It was match more to it I heard more In-depth conversations regarding it..
@@lauramason9250 I’ve submitted it in the past and sent dms too
Missing/Unsolved cases are 100% the MOST IMPORTANT ones. Thank you for covering them
I'm NOT saying this to be judgy.. I'm a recovering addict, 6 years clean now. I had many, many female friends who turned to sexwork to fund their habit. The boyfriends were always okay with it until they were withdrawing or mad at their partner, which then it became a fight. I hope that's not the case here, but it's something that popped into my head immediately.
I work with patients recovering from opioid use disorder, and several patients have talked about being in similar situations to what you describe.
Recovering substance abuser too. I'm so worried that you are correct about the substance situation. 😢😢😢
This is exactly what I was thinking. I come from the same world and it makes alot of sense. She was beautiful and could have been convinced it was easy money.
It could even be why her trail has just gone cold. Like she vanished. Maybe she was picked up by a john.
That's not judgy. It's very plausible.
Yes, he didn’t care and encouraged her to work for their addiction. Hence, why she was at Americourt.
Our mistakes in life and do not define us. I have 35 years clean and am a mother of 3 and grandmother of 8. Please don’t hold her past against her and her baby girl.
I’m so proud of you! You’re doing amazing! I pray this girl is found safe.
Was it her past? Sounds like it was her current situation.
Mad respect for being one of few true crime channels that respects and includes the family. It shows your intentions are genuine. I hope Layla’s family gets her back soon and I appreciate their willingness to be open and vulnerable with such a wide audience. It doesn’t matter if someone struggles with addiction. They don’t deserve to be hurt or to go missing.
The boyfriend doing the cashapps????? That’s SO SUS
Yeah when I heard that I’m like uhh there’s no way he’s not involved cuz wtf
Not necessarily. I've heard of all kinds of crazy ways that addicts try to get money.
Has she been found yet
@@DanielleTelehasadly no… she’s still missing /:
I just got to the part where they’re talking about cashapp… they found out he was involved with the cashapp thing??? AND THEY DONT SUSPECT HE KNOWS SOMETHING!!?
Going through postpartum AND losing a grandfather who helped raise and shape you has GOT to be devastating! Anyone who judges her for what she fell into has never experienced that pain and the need/want to escape. I hope she’s found.
Facts, I feel devastated for the family, I can tell Jennifer is a good Mom and is doing her best to keep it all together for her other kids and her granddaughter, I want to give her a big hug 🤗 I really hope that the recent sighting turns out to be Leyla 💯…. This Michael knows more than he cares to share 😢… In my prayers 🙏💚💚
@@lynnmcdonald6203 Jen, absolutely IS a good mom. She is such a good person, with such a big heart and cares deeply for everyone in her life. And, unfortunately, is such a great mommy to Nova as well
I became a heroin/Fentanyl addict after pain clinics screwed me up. I spent a year getting high and ODing in my own home. In severe pain. My attorney is who saved me and convinced me to get clean, NOT my family.
Being clean for 2 years has changed everything. All addicts usually were hurt in a way they turn drugs, and triggers happen. You can get better!! If i can, anyons can.
I lost both of my grandparents postpartum, I fell in deep depression and found out I have bpd after. Almost got me. I feel for her ❤
I hope she is found safe! Your comment is so true! Honestly anyone who judges her for her addiction has never had to struggle with it. I have never had a drug addiction but I would never judge someone who does. She clearly was having a hard time
If Micheal wasn’t part of her disappearance why would he be doing the whole cash app thing? That’s what doesn’t make sense to me. Why mess with the family knowing they are looking for her? He doesn’t care about her cause if he did he would help and not make things worse
He’s probably an addict too and addicts will do anything for their next fix
@@jessicaosborne4588 I understand. But still it’s sick
@@carleejohnson420 oh definitely
to fund his own addiction. common sense really
Said like someone who has never experienced addiction. A person in active addiction will do anything, hurt anyone to get the fix they need.
Also Kendall you are so respectful & delicate when speaking of these victims. I love your compassionate way you bring these stories awareness.
My friend's sister has been missing for 15 years now. She completely vanished and they've never been able to find out anything. I have witnessed what it has done to her family over the years. It's awful. Especially for her kids, who are all grown now. It's the not knowing that drives them crazy. They have accepted the fact that she could be deceased but if she is, they wish they knew so they could give her a proper memorial, etc.
That's so incredibly sad man. I'm so sorry for her. Stay strong sis
The same thing happened with a kid I knew back home, Nieko Lisi. He went missing in Franklin TN, they even found the truck he had stripped and in pieces in a garage and have never searched or anything to find Nieko. He went missing in 2011. I’m so sorry her family and friends have had to experience this too 😔. It’s horrible
Was she blond
US ADDICTS MATTER !! I pray she is found 🙏🏼 I’ve been sober almost 5 yrs . My son is 4 and I got sober when I found out I was pregnant with him . We do recover and I’m happy she did also 🫶🏼 she has so many people that love her and a beautiful daughter waiting on her return . They are all in my thoughts .
Congratulations ❤️🥰 you're so strong and im so proud of you, im almost one year sober. Its hard as fuck but we can do it. Also um very happy you and your son found each other, you're an amazing mom and I'm sure you're an amazing person too
she didn’t recover , her addiction is partly why she’s missing
I’m so proud of you! Your voice is so powerful! ❤❤
Can I ask a personal question? Was your baby boy born healthy?
Congrats on your sobriety!! Life long sobriety IS possible! Prayers for your continued success.
As a medical professional, please remember that addiction is classified as a disease . No person wakes up thinking "I want to be addicted to drugs or
alcohol.
In my addiction, I always met women from all over the country. They usually end up in California for some reason. I hope this young lady is found. I’ll defo post on social media.
11 minutes into this video and just wanted to point out how INSANE it is that we (as a society) are so unwilling to "see the bigger" picture and express even a shred of empathy when it comes to the subject of addiction. The fact that "regardless of the things going on in her life (substance abuse/addiction), nobody deserves to go missing" even HAD to be said speaks volumes about how far off course we've come.
The fact that there are people who would simply write this woman off and think of it as a "we'll, guess she deserved it" simply because she struggled with substance addiction is horrific, depressing & is absolutely THE #1 reason that we struggle so much to combat the opioid epidemic that's one of the leading causes of death in people over 16.
The fact that I live in TN and haven’t heard anything about this case prior to your video is so upsetting! So glad you are spreading awareness!
Born and raised in Kingsport. Addiction is so rampant and affects everyone in one way or the other. We have so many missing cases popping up in the last few years! Be careful out there, y’all. We will keep talking about Layla and sharing her story locally!!❤
Idk! Michael can't be trusted. I think he's involved. Way more than they think. A person who will do what he did pretending to be her in the midst of this horrid ordeal is a monster.
Yup
I agree he definitely knows
I agree
This sweet girl needs to be found. Her falling into drugs shouldn’t label her as less important. She’s a mother, daughter , sister and friend. Those are the labels we should focus on. Addiction has struck my family 3 times but I don’t view my family member as an addict , I say a sibling . Find this girl. Love you Kendall for covering this case ❤️
Im only 10 minutes in and ive already shed tears for layla. The way you described her life and all the photos and videos of layla are just so so special. Layla is the same age as me, she was born just 3 weeks after me. Its heartbreaking to think someone so young and beautiful is gone or missing. Not with her family, going through the ups and downs of being so young and just starting out in life like so many other people my same age. I wish nothing but the absolute best for her family and her if there is still a possibility. I give all my thoughts and prayers
Edit aswell; many people my same age struggle with alcohol or drugs issues. Its so common and i am one of them aswell. It doesnt define us and alot of us are trying our best day in day to make money and be there for our families and ourselves. Never pass judgement. You never know what someone is going through or feeling. Its so important to stay firm but kind to people like us. Layla sounds like a very beautiful person and she always will be to everyone.
I'm from this area. Kingsport is maybe 40 minutes away, and I hadn't heard about either of these missing women. I can't believe there aren't posters and things everywhere, or news!? I'll keep my eyes open! This is crazy!!! 😮
I'll share this video on my fb and share the poster!!
you're doing an awesome deed ❤
Hey there, I'm about 30 minutes outside of nashville, and I had never heard of this case either! I'm Glad I heard of Layla tho, I even went on to make my own UA-cam video about Layla, Sebastian rogers and summer wells these three babies need to be brought home or justice!
Thank you so much for covering Layla’s case. I’m somewhat local and we covered this in the beginning of one of our episodes recently but she desperately needed a big time true crime content creator to cover this. I’m so happy you did this for them. Thank you!
Layla has a beautiful family. I cannot believe the courage and strength they’ve displayed. She has such a wonderful support system. Beautiful girl, I hope you are found ❤
Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol Tennessee are known as the Tri-Cities. I live in Johnson City, which is only 20 minutes from Kingsport and have not heard of this case. Which completely shocks me. Thank you so much for bringing awareness.
Not super far away in Maggie valley NC and no clue.
Yep, also from the tri cities and sadly never heard of Layla’s case
As someone who also lives in JC, it was all over the local news forever. They even did updates about the boyfriend sending the cash app requests.
Is that an area of the country greatly affected by addiction?
@justsayin124 It was greatly impacted by the opioid epidemic in the past. I guess it kind of still is
The mom and bonus mom having only good things to say about their shared child. 😭😭😭
As a recovering addict, this was my mom's worst fear. Tha kfully when I disappeared I was always in jail.
If she had no phone, how would someone have her cash app login? …Clearly Michael is the person with access to all her passwords
This is close to my hometown and I have been keeping up with this case since she went missing. It seems like her mom is the only one advocating and trying to find her. It’s sad. Thank you for bringing attention to this case.
I have been following Layla's mother on tiktok since shortly after she went missing. I hope and pray that Layla comes back home safe very soon. TY for covering this case!!💜💜💜💜
Her "mother" is not all there. Police won't take this case seriously because the mom has an IG where her life is going just as normal. Doesnt look worry and when she talks about her daughter is like she is talking about a stranger. This woman didn't even raise her. Jennifer is a narcissist

If anything, those who are struggling with addiction are commonly in high risk situations which means they should get even more coverage! Thanks Kendall!
I totally agree. As someone who has struggled with addiction, I know I've barely made it out with my life in several situations.
I haven’t finished this video yet but I just love how you give everyone a voice, especially those who society leaves voiceless. I am an addict in recovery and a new mom; I’ve lived lots of different lives in 28 years and if anything were to ever happen to me, I would hate for my my addiction to dictate the help and support I would receive. I also hate when people think that just because someone has substance use issues that that means they don’t love their children. My son is my world and I know Nova is Layla’s world.
I hope Layla will be reunited with her family soon. You can feel the love radiate through the videos the family made. Her daughter deserves her mommy and Layla deserves to be a mommy.
This is so scary, I came across her moms TikTok when she was first missing about a year ago and been following since. Thank you Kendall for covering her story. I think this will be so helpful for the family. ❤️🙏🏼
Thank you so much for covering this story!! I’ve been following her mom on instagram for months. I’m so happy this is finally getting coverage that will reach the right audience. You’re amazing 💕💕
I’m from Kingsport Tennessee and I’ve been keeping up with this case since it happened along w hollands case and I hope n pray theses girls are found it’s so heartbreaking especially the little coverage it’s gotten. THANK YOU SM KENDALL for putting some light on this case this was much needed!!!❤️❤️
Same!!! This breaks my heart. I live right next to the greenbelt and that area is super sketchy so is near americourt, I’ve stayed there a couple of times and it’s definitely not good for a young women to be around there by herself. I can’t believe she’s been missing this long, crushes my heart.
Thank you for covering Layla's case and sharing her story. I think it's so important for Layla's family to know that many people are spreading the word and hoping for her safe return. Layla's struggle with addiction does not diminish her worth, she deserves to be found just as much as anyone else. I have been following Layla's case from early on and I've been shocked by the lack of media coverage. It's heartbreaking that her family feared sharing that she was battling addiction might discourage people from spreading awareness.
4 foot 10 inches tall. I’m 5 foot 2 inches. Layla is a very small woman. She was so vulnerable, in the throws of addiction. I wish she could be found and recover. But with all the dangers out there? Her mother said she was strong and resilient, sounds like she had to be! She was also small, unwell and trying to leave a volatile relationship.
Her poor family. Her mother looks so young, but you can see the endless worry in their eyes. They need answers, to get Layla back or find out once and for all what really happened to her 💔
She had five loving parents (counting the grandparents), a loving baby, and seemed like a wonderful person.
Her mother wasn't there for her when she was a baby. Sorry but that mother failed her.

Thank you for stating this yet again! NO ONE should be defined by their addiction. Us addicts are SO much more than that. It was a chapter of my life (6 years out of the 40 I've been alive), and I have now been sober going on 9 years. We can and DO recover. Thank you for covering laylas case!

As a recovering addict and new single mother doing this on my own all day every day- it’s no cake walk. I very much hope Layla sees the support system she has bc I think she is alive too. I always wondered how to get and stay clean… my answer was to utilize every aspect of support and be held accountable. Thanks for sharing this info Kendall. ❤
I'm also a single mom in recovery. I have 5 years clean, but it feels like it was yesterday. I don't try to distance myself from the realities of what life was for me as an addict.. Congratulations to both of you ladies. It takes courage, strength and love to fight addiction. Much love to you both.❤❤
In Norway we see addiction as an illness and that changes the way you see people that are struggling with drugs. Off course we have people that look down on addicts but not to the same degree as in the USA. The way of always " you made your bed now you lay in it" kinda way of treating people does not help :( Like it is all YOUR fault if your life goes to hell. The land of possibilities where you actually had a fair chance to do great changed for over 50 years ago...but what has not changed much is the way of thinking about people that are not so lucky or has fallen on bad times.. such a shame :(
As an American myself, I think it's a byproduct of our ultra-capitalist and individualist mentality, similar to how our society blames people for being poor. Our culture is fixated on the concept of the "self-made man," but on the flip side of the idea that anyone can become anything they want with enough hard work, is the idea that when people fall on hard times, it's their fault for not putting in enough effort.
illnesses are not self inflicted. I think we have such a large drug problem bc there aren’t many consequences. They just legalized it in certain states and now it’s so much worse in those places. Everyone has a choice to pick it up or not, it is a conscious choice not something out of anyone’s control. Having said this I 100% believe in recovery but only if they choose. It’s all about choices, doesn’t make them less than anyone else but it does make them volatile and not dependable. The whole issue is sad, there needs to be more personal responsibility and more compassion from others.
It's the same where I am from Alcohol and Drugs addiction is a illness
I have 2 daughters that are in their 20s and for some reason this story truly touched my heart. I'm so sorry to her family. I'm praying for safe return. 🙏 😭 God be with this Family. ♥️
So glad that you’re covering this case. I’ve been following the mother’s socials for a few months. It’s absolutely heartbreaking for her family, you can tell her mother will fight endlessly for her daughter. And I don’t care if Layla had addiction issues, no one should just disappear.
To those who would be derogatory about addiction, remember this. No one dreams of growing up to be an addict. It is not a career goal. You have no idea what has happened in that persons life or is continuing to happen. Judging others is not up to you. Try to be understanding.
To Layla and her family. I hope and pray that you are soon reunited 💓. 😊
No, it doesn’t define a person, but she’s an addicted kid with a kid. Her drug use is the common factor in this. I really dislike the fact that we’re supposed to act that’s not a thing
@LiquidShivaz No one is saying that. Life happens. No, it's not great when there are children. However, the child was never neglected or abused. Everyone makes mistakes, just some are more costly than others.
@@Han-lp6iqi hope kenadall sees this and blocks you.
@@Han-lp6iq addiction is not a choice
@@cindypreston7234 except it is :) no one is forcing them to chase a high and follow through with it, they do it to themselves. 0 sympathy for weak-minded individuals like that.
Happy late birthday, Kendall! Thank you for all you do in the true crime world. For the victims & their loved ones.
I will help share this case! Im a recovering addict. My family members are addicts and some have recovered. NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED THE SAME AS ANYONE ELSE!!! LAYLA DESERVES RESPECT AND TO COME HOME!
The most recent photos of her should be shared as tbh she looks different in every single photo here.
wow i live in kingsport and have surprisingly never heard of this case… thank you for sharing!!!
addiction or not, that poor girl didn’t deserve to go missing. i truly hope she’s found and returned home to her family. prayers for her family and her little baby 🩷.
Awww. She looks like her mom. So pretty. Very sad case ❤. My heart goes out to her family.
All of true crime needs to be reported like this! Thank you
I've followed Jennifer on Tictok since the start and my heart breaks for her and the family sending love, light &prayers from Ireland 🙏💚
As an addict in recovery (I have 1 year and 4 months clean). This really hit me in the feels. I will be donating and supporting this case fully and sharing with the recovery community.
Congratulations to you and you have made a journey to sobriety. Keep going it's beautiful. All the best to your journey!!!
It would never cross my mind to think that someone doesn’t deserve immediate police attention because they were using. If anything, a user is more vulnerable, and should garner immediate attention.
My heart and prayers go out to this precious family ❤❤❤🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
More vulnerable than whom? I get you’re tryin to show support…but that’s not an accurate statement. More vulnerable than an old lady with dementia? More vulnerable than a 7 year old? Like really?
@@agricolaregs more vulnerable than a similar young lady with a clear head 😊 there, does that help you
I’m so happy your covering laylas case I’ve followed her mom on tik tok for months you can see the hurt in her eyes ❤
Like Layla I too was anti drug use We all find addiction through pain and it changes us because it eases what we are usually too young to understand how to cope
I haven’t stopped thinking about this case for MONTHS thank u for covering!!!!
OMG. This case is in my area. I remember when the news reported her missing.. then nothing after that. Thank you for covering it!
I'm so happy you're covering this story, I've been tagging you on Tiktok from almost the very beginning. Her poor momma needs all the help she can get. The boyfriend had something to do with it. My opinion anyway.
Watching from Dumfries, Scotland and commenting for the algorithm. Praying for Kayla to come home ❤
I've been watching her mom Jennifer's TikToks since Layla first went missing. Thank you for covering this.
This also desperately needs to be shared in the New Jersey area as she has connections there!!
I’m only 37 mins in but I just got suddenly overcome with emotion. I have a young daughter and I just pictured her missing and someone taunting me with dollar amounts and promises to release her. What a deep longing the mother must have had to just send over all her money. I’m sure many times she envisioned the moment Layla would be running towards her with her arms open. Crushing 💔 FYI I’m a recovering addict from H, crack and meth. Addicts aren’t any less of people. They are trapped in unimaginable pain and can’t fathom feeling whole enough to take care of the things they love so dear.
I was suprised but happy to hear you tell her story! I've only heard of her from seeing a real pop up from her moms page speaking on Layla. I prayed for her then and I will pray for her now. God bless her mama and her baby girl.. wishing them strength and well wishes. I have faith she will make it home safely!!🙏🤞❤️❤️❤️
I am so glad this stories finally getting more coverage. Been following her mom on TikTok for so long
I live in Kingsport and I’ve never heard about this! I will help!
I really hope Layla’s family get some answers soon. Everybody regardless of circumstances or what they’re doing with their lives, they deserve justice and thorough police investigations. My heart goes out to them.
I live 10 minutes from Kingsport and there really has not been a lot of coverage of her case! Thank you for sharing!
Layla's mother is a beautiful person inside and out. I hope so much that she gets closure sometime soon..
Jennifer looks like she is in her early 20's so does the step mom.
Sometimes people disappear when they are in the depths of addiction. Speaking from experience and with no disrespect, that’s the saddest part of this.
Exactly
Layla matters!!
I am so sad and distraught for her &her family...
My son was killed in 2019@ 27 years old. I know the pain, and I'm so sorry....
I’m so sorry for the loss of your son. ❤️
There is nothing more painful. I'm so sorry for your loss 💔
SO GLAD YOURE COVERING THIS STORY. I’ve been following her mama for a year now❤ praying she gets home safe
Shared on Facebook from Carthage, TN. Praying for Layla and the family. Can't make any donations atm, but I am definitely sharing and praying!
No judgement!! I wish I could do more! Young mom and I am clean from active addiction!!❤
Layla needs to come home. Her family needs her and she has so much to give from what I heard here today. Substance abuse should have absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm the mother of a recovering addict. I sat by the phone for 4 years just waiting for the call that would tell me to come pick up her body. Through grace that didn't happen and she will be clean 4 years next month. There is always hope and there are still miracles in this world. Layla and all those who love her will be in my prayers.
You're an amazing mommaa❤❤
I know what that feels like. Once you're known as an addict, no matter how long you've been in recovery - you're still looked at as a user. People assume i get plastered to the point of blacking out every single day when in reality i may take some benzos once or twice a month but im looked at and talked about like I am completely out of control and needs to be in a mental institution.
I understand. Support means so much, esp. when it's lacking. You got this💖✨
In recovery myself so I'm in no way judging you, but I'm so scared for you. Benzos are a slippery slope and I hope you have a good support system/program. We of all people, know that 1 is too many and 10,000 isn't enough.
same on all counts, except i'm prescribed benzos so take them more frequently. if i went missing, i would not want my addict past known to the public because people would assume im off on a bender, homeless somewhere near the inner citys drug markets.
I completely understand

Will you please look in to Kevin graves disappearance? He went missing from a music festival back in 2019. His family never got answers and the whole situation is sketchy AF. I know his family would absolutely want to be apart of a video with you too. ❤
She has a form you can fill out on her website that might be a good idea to start❤
i live like 30 mins from kingsport and haven’t heard ANYTHING on this case so thank you for bringing light and making more people aware
Hey Kendall! I would love to hear you talk about the case of Saltanat Nukenova who was brutally murdered by her husband the ex minister of Kazajistán, her brother has been working with creators such as Stephanie Soo to get her case known. Her case needs a lot of awareness from overseas creators and you are a great researcher and creator! Thank you for everything you do!
I still have Stephanie’s video on this case in my watchlist. I hope more attention comes to the case soon!
Kendall has case request forms in her description box. Good luck.🙏
My heart hurts for her family. Another beautiful soul that was taken too soon.
She’s not found yet!
And can I just say how young mum and step mum look. Not to mention how beautiful ❤
Being an addict makes her even more human! I am 8 years sober. I hated myself for falling into the same thing that killed all my family and many friends. We need to stop acting like people who are in active addiction don't matter. They DO! The need us more then ever. Especially if we have a young mother missing. This is tragic! Her family needs answers and I pray we get them for them
The love and grace that BOTH her moms display is incredible!!! Please God bring this girl home.
