Duuude I noticed that with Conors face! he started becoming less attractive in last year, and I thought it's because of the PED use/ mass gain. It makes sense now. I had a little mind blow there
For sure, bro.
Who is conor
@@Thickrick004 My mother
PED use is definitely a factor
This comment screams ignorance. Conor’s jaw got bigger because he used GH which directly impacts bone size and density. This whole idea that getting your wisdom teeth taken out will make you ugly is just stupid, and almost no one experiences any change in their facial structure afterwards, especially with good post op care. This is nothing but bro science on top of bro science.
My 20 year old daughter's wisdom teeth appeared but the dentist is NOT wanting to remove them! (She was breastfed and didn't take a bottle a lot). She has a lovely square jawline and high, prominent cheekbones. I guess those wisdom teeth will stay!
Congratulations on raising a healthy child. Keep up the good work.
Just make sure she's taught/disciplined to floss and brush regularly though, my parents didn't and I'm just now correcting those bad habits because I need multiple teeth (1 wisdom, 1 molar, and potentially another molar in the future) pulled/removed because of bad cavities.
@@Dr.Failtastic 20 years old, she's already grown up.
@@smiechu47don't start that. Parents that care will always encourage their off spring.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in 2018 when I was 22. The bottom ones were impacted and completely sideways, but the top ones were perfectly fine and I foolishly agreed to have them all taken out because the oral surgeon had "reasons" that I don't remember.
I've had really good results from MSE but like Ron says, I do believe I lost some forward projection. While I was narrow before, I had a much more pronounced jawline. But then, not only that, my midface got crazy narrow between 2019 and 2021, before I got the MSE. I really regret getting the top ones removed.
Unfortunately you are not alone in this experience. I'm glad you have intervened to turn things around for the better. Keep your head up.
If you had a class I molar occlusion, they removed the top ones because they are then unopposed and virtually guaranteed to have overerupted. >95% of adults with a situation like this I’ve seen gone on to have periodontal pockets
what a legend ron, makes perfect sense
Thanks bro.
If only i could get them back
Ditto.
Thanks for clarifying this. I just can't fully trust orthodontists anymore because they can't adress my questions honestly.
I didn’t take care of my teeth at all and have lost second molars on the bottom but kept my wisdom teeth on each side. They are acting like my second molars right now. My dentist actually filled my wisdom tooth with a filing to preserve it. I’m so happy he did. I’m aggressively trying to preserve the teeth I have because I don’t want to lose any more of my face.
Killing it my man! My snoring increased in intensity after I got my wisdom teeth out! 2nd worst decision of my life, getting braces is number 1!
Did you record it before and after?
How was braces a bad decision for you
so glad I found out about this at this age (18). mewing might not help me much but I can still preserve my teeth.
Nah mewing will help alot at our age (im 17 and it helps still)
You know, if surgeons start doing more IMDO, and face-mask ends up being a more viable alternative to LeFort in adults, it might actually be possible to grow your jaws and alveolar bone to the point where you can keep your wisdom teeth. Right now, it is kind of hard actually.
In terms of face mask it is a complex topic, some physicians might think that it is impossible for it to ever work in adults, but at the same time if you asked someone 20 years ago if you could expand the maxilla without surgery in adults, they would also tell you that you're crazy. So, just because something isn't possible for one person doesn't mean it isn't possible for another, and as time progresses people can try different things, different designs, different protocols, surgical-assists, etc. that may yield different results.
I mean we're still seeing advances in MARPE so like, we're not really there yet I think. But I'm very optimistic for the future. I'm especially eager to see how Facegenics new products perform, creatively and design-wise they are very unique. Just take their expander (FME), there are all kinds of custom MARPE right now, Lipkin, Newaz, Coppelson, etc. many have a similar design. FME is nothing like their design. So like, there is more to learn from testing a completely unique design.
Do you think we can achive CCW rotation and more forward expansion with the FME + Facemask?
@@martoncsontos8324 More than with what? Like what are we comparing to?
If the question is can we get CCW and forward protraction with FME and facemask, the answer is like, hypothetically yeah I mean we know 100% that is already possible and done by others.
It's just nobody has done it in a 35 year old man lol. But is it possible as things advance and get better? I think so.
@@shuikai272 Sorry i wasnt being very clear with my question. We all know that MSE + Facemask works but the results are pretty minimal. If someone has mse and wears a facemask with it (not a traditional one which pushes back the mandible) like the BOW, considering that he wears it everyday for at least 16 hours minimum, im afraid he may only get like 3-5mm forward growth of the maxilla with it if he's really lucky. And unfortunately true CCW rotation is not possible with it meaning like shortening the midface. Because the placement of the MSE on the palate wont allow that. I was only asking you if you think that FME can possibly outperform the standard Mse in these terms. Sorry if i wrote something wrong.
Great stuff Shuikai. All your points are well received.
@@martoncsontos8324 Okay so basically what you are describing is, whether or not all of the posterior sutures disarticulate following facemask treatment. If they do not all disarticulate, you will not achieve the 3-5 mm or whatever it is we can expect out of an ideal/optimal facemask treatment.
So in terms of your question, could Facegenics new platform provide an increased percentage of success rate for disarticulating these sutures?
Answer is, potentially yes. I think we will need to wait and see, maybe Facegenics comes out with their new platform, it increases the % somewhat, but is not at the desirable level. Now they can do more tweaks to the design and protocol to increase the success rate.
For example, I speculated awhile ago that like, assuming we optimize the treatment to the maximum degree and we still do not see satisfactory results. We could try to add a surgical-assist to the facemask. For example, bilateral zygomaticotemporal osteotomies. Okay so now we do that surgical-assist, now what happens? We just have no idea.
So long-term I think like, we're going to have to just keep trying stuff and then see what happens. Maybe we don't even need to do a surgical-assist, maybe in a year we get word from Ting that all of his facemask cases are succeeding without any surgical-assist or anything. Like we just don't know what will happen once people start trying it in the real world.
______
Also for added info, nasomaxillary expansion can disarticulate a lot of sutures, but there is also bending that occurs at other sutures, they act as a fulcrum, which is well described by Won Moon and others. For example, the pterygomaxillary sutures disarticulate (hopefully) with a proper mid-facial expansion. Like MSE, FME, EASE. I have yet to see how the custom MSE expanders perform in that regard, I also haven't seen FME but I assume it performs similar to MSE as it only screws into the palatal bone so biomechanically like it has to. There is a reason they call it Facegenics Mid-facial Expander. Anyway, the fulcrums are around the zygomaticofrontal sutures, and the zygomaticotemporal sutures. So these do not disarticulate following expansion. From Won Moon's cases (and others for that matter) of facemask, I don't believe the zygomaticofrontal sutures disarticulate, (or need to disarticulate) but 100% the zygomaticotemporal sutures do disarticulate, and I see distraction osteogenesis occurring there, those sutures literally are holding the mid-face back. It is like a pterygomaxillary suture, but for the mid-face. So this is ANOTHER pair of sutures that need to be split during the FACEMASK, not during the EXPANSION. Make sense? So that is an important consideration when trying to figure out why some facemasks yield that optimal result, and others don't, basically the question is, are you disarticulating all the sutures? That is the goal, it is basically like the expansion. So I don't know if we will need a surgical assist for that zygomaticotemporal suture or not, maybe we will like the expansion, Ting and Lipkin are doing the piezo. Or maybe not. We'll have to see, but I do think that it is plausible that we can figure out a way to make it consistent.
But by the way, the zygomaticotemporal isn't the only one that needs to be split during the facemask phase, I think there are more like above the pterygomaxillary suture, or more of it, or something, but I'm not sure how much resistance that will yield versus the zygomaticotemporal sutures. Maybe if you were to do the zygomaticotemporal sutures with osteotomies, virtually all resistance is gone, or maybe not, I have no idea.
I also will add that like, I may not be the most expert on the topic of facemask (i'm a bit humble, I just don't like being wrong), but every result I have seen has been a forwards nasomaxillary advancement. I know people were saying, maybe pull down, pull up, or whatever. The results I've seen on CBCT, comparing before and after, seem to be basically it moving forward, not up not down. Sometimes there is dentoalveolar movement up or down, sometimes they are kids and it moves up or down, but for adults, forward. So my recommendation would be to try to copy the result we see in the successful cases that have been done in the past for adults. Protract along the frankfort horizontal plane. Forward. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. If we get that working then sure, experiment more.
what about people who think not having enough space for wisdom teeth is evolution because we don't need them anymore
😁😁😁😁
Most smooth brain takes you hear people say regularly. Why would evolution favor something that makes us weaker and breathe worse? So silly.
They are idiots.
Please make a video on what we can do to prevent bone loss after we lose our wisdom teeth
I was forced into having mine remove in basic military training despite having any medical problems with them.
Can confirm this. I haven’t been the same since removing my wisdom teeth when I was 22
What were the effects?
Wish I hadn't had mine taken out. Didn't even really think about it, I was just a 16 year old doing what the doctor says was best. I'm getting oral myofacial therapy now and hopefully the habits I develop from that will compensate in the future. Shrug. Sigh.
What about someone who doesn’t have wisdom teeth naturally? They never appeared, they don’t exist on my scans too
Ronald have you read this thread on looksmax *Why MSE sucks, and turns you into a definitionless ape (better MSE theory)* (can't post links because YT blocks it). It argues that the even widening of maxilla is not ideal and that the posterior part should ideally be widened more - kind of a reverse cone shape. I remember Dr. Moon saying something about how he would want to position the appliance more posteriorly if he could. Normally I wouldn't care about such a thread but this makes sense to me. The front of your mouth is significantly narrower than the back. Even expansion is thus in terms of the % of expansion much lower at the back. Have you ever asked a doctor about or heard a doctor talk about trying to get more posterior expansion?
I saw the thread as well, hopefully he sees this
EASE supposedly gets more posterior expansion. That thread might make a good point but people are getting good functional and some aesthetic benefit with properly executed MSE. So in the absence of a readily available alternative, MSE is probably good enough for now.
@@JawHacks So you would agree that the posterior expansion would ideally be larger than the anterior right? I mean I think MSE is great to be honest but if for example the more posteriorly placed TADs were larger and maybe tilted a certain way it could produce this reverse cone shape expansion. Maybe not. I am just interested in what do the doctors think. You know you're in contact with some you could ask them or maybe when you do a big time interview again have this as one of the questions. It honestly intrigues me.
Yes. Yes and yes. Couldn’t agree more. My face feels like a house without a foundation! Unstable,, vulnerable.
I know exactly how it was with Wisdom teeth. Life was beautiful!
It’s hard to cope with. I went into acceptance that my life got ruined
Love the Italian-American zeal you exude.
so wot can we do if we're an adult whos had their wisdom teeth removed ?
i heard of a type of implant procedure, to sort of mimicking the work of the wisdom teeths
Unfortunately all four of my wisdom teeth were impacted at a 90 degree angle
Three of my wisdom teeth are great, but I have one impacted one. It isn't painful, but the jaw asymmetry it has caused is obvious. Is there any way of just getting it rotated into the correct position?
hello, have you figured it out by now?
I’m curious about this too. Wonder if it’s possible to brace/use alignment orthodontics on a wisdom tooth? Enquire about it from a pro or maybe Mike Mew
Looking like a handsome michael jackson here 🫡
Michael Jackson but WITHOUT the empty nose syndrome because I averted the soft tissue nasal surgery.
Hi Ron, I am genuinely interested in your theory, but I can’t find any information about Conor’s wisdom teeth surgery, and I can’t imagine how the jaws could collapse back after their removal. Due to the angulations of properly aligned teeth, the tendency is for them move mesially, not distally. Without using analogies, what evidence do you have to suggest your theory?
I couldn’t find info about conor either, also don’t see much difference between his face pics now an then
Watch his newest short, it shows a study
I still have all 4, top are fully in but bottom not enough room, grateful nonetheless 🙏 cheers Ron
Thanks for chiming in, Ryan.
Interesting topic to bring up Ron, great video.
If you look up the effects of wisdom teeth extractions on the face, it seems most (and the first) results you get are from dental clinics that then go on to say that there are no negative changes to one's face after extractions, some of them saying that since the wisdom teeth are not rooted in the jawbone (provided I understood it correctly), removing them wouldn't alter the shape of the face in any way. Since this is the people doing the actual extractions saying this, who knows how credible it is or what the literature actually says.
A more personal experience with wisdom teeth that I've had that I may have mentioned in your previous videos has been my orthodontist who is Won Moon/Dr. Mew trained recommending to remove two wisdom teeth for a harmonious bite, as they have no counterparts, which is interesting as I'm not sure what to think as regards which one or the other is more important, the bite or the wisdom teeth.
Regardless, thanks for doing this, keep up the great work.
Is there any scenario where removing maxillary wisdom teeth can help.. Alongside doing maxiallary and mandibular expansion for treating my sleep apnea and uars. I am a 28 years old male. On expansion appliance on both Jaws. And on Braces... My dentist is advising me to get my maxillary wisdom tooth to be removed as they are slanting.. But the mandibular wisdom tooth have not erupted at all... Will removing wisdom tooth.. To align my bite and jaw better lead to improvement in my sleep apnea symptoms?
Tthis video was posted at a crazy timing, was just told recently to get my wisdom teeth taken out. My top ones the dentist literally said would probably come in fine, but my bottom ones are coming in sideways. Are there any alternatives for this? Was going to go see a TMJ specialist and maybe ask for some type of expander like MSE. Is that my only option here? Would really appreciate any advice you have!
@The Handsome Life I am 21, and they are decently sideways. Id say about 75 degrees about
Hey Ron. I have been very stressed and depressed because I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted about a year ago. I only recently have found you and mewing. Is there any hope to prevent the face from sinking like you describe?
I have a narrow mandible, I want to get MSE for some expansion but I will need to do something for the lower jaw. Maybe SFOT+ AGGA, or MSDO+ AGGA. There are bone grafts+implants, and they are doable... Do you not like them?
How can I prevent the sinking of my face and how can I maximize my potential? I want to get forward growth, it is what I think I lack the most... hearing my maxilla will sink is very disheartening.
I lost my lower left wisdom tooth last week😢
What do you think about replacing the removed wisdom teeth with artificial teeth? I got mine removed about 10+ years ago and I'm considering replacing them.
is that even possible
@@elijhv I'm not sure honestly. It's probably too late but figured I'd ask the guy who seems to have put more thought and effort into this than most people who go to school for it.
It's possible but I don't think any dentistw would do it unless you have them lots of money and put in writing that you accept the possibility of a botched surgery
@@user-wu6eq1ty1y how could it be botched
Hey Ron, what are your thoughts on someone who has to take their wisdom teeth out in order to expand with the MSE? After the MSE and braces is there any side effects to facial aesthetics this way?
I love your channel man
Can you get dental implants if you have had your wisdom teeth extracted?
What about the people who are being born without wisdom teeth? I have impacted wisdom teeth and I plan on having double jaw surgery. The orthodontist wants to remove the wisdom teeth so they cut my jaw. I've had braces for 3 years and had 4 extracted premolars. I got tmj during braces and I have headaches from it. I am not sure what to do anymore.... It scares me and I am afraid I'll get worse.
Hi, I have a question. I already removed one of my lower wisdom teeth should I now remove the other lower one as well to prevent facial asymmetry or would you leave all the other ones alone? My other lower wisdom tooth is partially exposed so there‘s no flesh over it and it grew in sideways, however I‘m in no pain, in the last two years the tooth maybe hurt two times but never for longer than like 2-3 days. I already made and appointment but im now thinking about cancelling it since im kinda scared of the facial changes. I’m also 22 and I’ve been mewing for 2 years now so my jaw changed a lot it’s way more forward now. Would appreciate an answer, thank you.
I’ve got one wisdom tooth emerging. Fingers crossed this one stays good and the other ones come out alright. I’m mewing, focusing on good body posture, and gradually strengthening my jaw. Good luck to everyone :)
Really interesting stuff and good analogy. As a fan of the channel who wants it to continue strengthening, I’d consider making your points more concise. This one was a bit meandering and repetitive. If you aren’t already, you could plan the script or something.
Thanks for the kind words and yes, I agree, brevity is the soul of wit.
So my orthotropic guy told me to remove my two wisdom teeth, i'm gonna search for a ortho that uses mse's, Thank you for this video.
Hey Ronald.. first just want to say that your content is awesome and really valuable.. would you know if chewing hard food, or gums or the jawsrsize can grow bone height in the mouth (specifically the bone around the teeth- Alveolar bone ) ??
If you were to have any hope of growing bone there as an adult, chewing tough foods as you describe would help.
What about if your wisdom teeth are not erupting properly?
My dentist talked me into pullig them and send me to a Chirurg who made an appointment to pull them the next day. In the evening I got anxious bc the roentgen of my looked good … and I‘ve send an email to 17 dentists in my area with an asap pls give me a short recommendation as you would to a friend … and for my suprise more than 10 dentists replied before my appointment … and EVERYONE had a different opinion on my case … literally everyone .. so yeah I got all of them pulled (my english is too bad do describe it) but i also think that it‘s … not very well thought trough to just pull them without any reason (one of my wisdom teeth actually looked like my jaw was too small in the scan)
Thanks for sharing this anecdote. Multiple opinions is always good. If they all agree the teeth need to go, then maybe they do. But there should be a damn good reason.
My top wisdom teeth came out but there is nothing on the bottom. Dentists have been telling me to remove it for a while because "it might impact the bottom gums, or it might increase the likelihood of decay." No issues yet and would really prefer to avoid that.
Also I'm getting MARPE here in SF early June. I appreciate the content.
Be sure to have periodontal charting done regularly. My partner in their thirties went from being fine to a 10mm pocket
Bruh you're wilding about Conor. He face puffy because he's juiced to the grills after he broke his leg in half, not because his face sunk. His face is the same. Excess tissue in the face is the side effect of external HGH. And started loosing fights because he is not the same anymore. His will for the sport dropped after he made millions after the Mayweather fight. You talking nonsense.
It’s not one or the other. It’s both
He speaks nonsense all the time. This channel is completely insane.
Thanks for the information. This is the best style of video for you in my opinion.
would you recommend Dr. Paul Coceancig as the no.1 for bimax surgery in Australia?
cheers.
I find this after i extract my upper wisdom teeth to make room for alignment with braces 😭
Great video, but I'm 20 years old and my bottom wisdom teeth just finished growing in sideways. If I want to keep them and avoid future damage am i forced to do mandibular expansion?
What do you do if have an infected wisdom tooth and the dentist recommends taking them all out because a root canal isn't an option for it and you can't remove only one without the tooth above sinking down
Maybe get an opinion from an airway focused, expansion-capable orthodontist. If even they say you have to chuck it, then you probably do.
Can anything REVERSE the removal of wisdom teeth consequences? Also I don't know if you know about Vivos or orthotropics, both airway-focused orthodontic treatments, just curious. Also, can Vivos reverse it? Would it reverse it and position the teeth where they need to be (if that makes sense)?
Can you link to any scientific studies showing that wisdom teeth extraction causes the problems discussed in this video? Or is this all based on anecdotal evidence/observation?
Common sense.
@@JawHacks With all due respect, that is a really weak response. For example, what about all those who don't experience any adverse effects from wisdom teeth extractions?
@@JawHacks Never heard such a stupid answer. Science talk bro, we don`t ever care about the ``common sense``...
Your analogy comparing wisdom teeth to the concrete slab of a building couldn't be less accurate. In architecture, the foundation must be laid before elevating the building, while wisdom teeth erupt at the very end after all the other teeth. So they're more like keystones, which lock the whole face in an optimal structure.
I didn't compare wisdoms to the slab, I compared them to footings beneath foundation walls. They both hold up whatever is above them and prevent them from sinking. But I do like your keystone analogy. Thanks for sharing.
Wisdom teeth are there from the beginning so his analogy isn’t wrong. They just erupt at puberty. Since birth they have their roots behind the molars and they are giving support
@JawHacks You're absolutely right about using "slab". My mistake: English is not my native language, and sometimes, I just don't play safe with the vocabulary .
Thanks for your kind words.
@@mohammadrashdan4049 You're pointing at a valid point. However, only when they erupt that the wisdom teeth reach an optimal positioning
@@mohammadrashdan4049excellent point. All these teeth are inside your bone until they erupt. Also humans aren't like building which you build, people grow so somethings are done backwards relative to building
Would you recommend IMDO or DJS? I’m 19 and getting one of them this summer. Can’t wait to get my depth back.
my brother just had 2 pulled due to 'preventitive measures'..He knows my stance on this but he trusts his dentist and so that's that. Is there anything I can advice for him to do? I was also wondering if keeping the other 2 wisdom tooths is really valuable or wouldn't change much whether or not they got pulled. thanks ron.
My poor daughter is the same. I told her to leave the other side alone. Say your prayers. Im praying
am currently taking well care of my teeth, flossing, brushing etc… however i have impacted wisdom teeth. Should I remove them early rather than risk cavities later on?
Great video, wisdoms should be saved if possible. Also I love the icon in the back, Christ is risen
Amen brother.
Video couldn’t have been placed in my “watch next” timeline better. Upon doing a routine teeth cleaning by my dental hygienist I mentioned my aspirations for undergoing jaw and facial surgeries and correcting my crooked teeth in the process starting with Invisalign [potentially]. The dentist came in and inspected my teeth noting how my upper right is protruding way off alignment, almost as if it’s in its own tooth “track” where all my other narrow teeth should be, if that paints a picture. He, within an instant, suggested wisdom teeth removal. I intuitively knew this was a stupid idea just from the simple standpoint that removing [sacrificing] a part of your body with the intention of allowing the other teeth to form properly makes no biological sense.
It also makes no sense on the dimension that, the whole PURPOSE of jaw expansion is to accommodate ALL teeth through the 3D osteogenesis and thus increased total volume and surface area of bone mass required to neatly and aesthetically fit all the teeth in. Removing wisdom teeth is IMHO just cutting corners, quite literally so. And that’s in addition to all the massively important points Ron mentioned
Seems to be an American thing. Pull out the wisdom teeth before the jaws are done growing and do it under GA.
I was persuaded into getting my all 4 of my wisdom teeth out a few years ago and I deeply regret it. Would getting implants reverse the negative facial effects, and is that even possible? I’ve been looking, but it seems like there is no such thing as wisdom teeth extraction reversal, but I still have hope
I've never in my life heard of someone getting wisdom teeth replacement implants. That bone seems to disappear quickly after removal. Your best bet is to develop good facial habits (i.e. Mewing) and use your tongue and other stimuli to keep your face grown forward.
Hey Ron, great video. I'm in a very peculiar situation. I had 4 upper teeth removed (premolars and Wisdom) yet retained my entire set of natural bottom teeth. My bite is a bit wonky, but I've seen good results from mewing and postural alignment exercises.
From a theoretical point of view, do you see it possible to actually use the lower jaw to "guide" the maxilla? Given that my lower jaw has all its teeth. And then when proper forward growth has been achieved, install upper premolar implants to "cement" the occlusion?
Thank you brother
My wisdom teeth are impacting and hurting the rest of my mouth, what should I do? I’m supposed to have them removed this week, but am now uncertain.
I got two from one side removed already but I refused to remove them all for some reason, do you think one on top and the other on the bottom from the same side can hold the structure together or that I should removed them all?
My daughter is in this situTion too. Im telling her to leave the other side alone. We will monitor it. Say prayer s
Im 20 now and I had my 2 bottom wisdom teeth removed because they were growing wrong 12 months ago. I haven't noticed a difference in my jaw between photos I took before tooth extraction and after, do you have any recommendations I could make so I could maintain my structure and not let it recede?
Very important topic. I’ve recently been to dentist/surgeon who wanted to pull out all 4 of my precious wisdom teeth. She looked me deep in the eyes and said „if you were my son, I’d advise you to pull out all“. Soon after follow up with „you can do it at our clinic“. Lol
I’m keeping these beauties. Only thing is that most of them are leaning on other teeth so only one was able to partially come out. Angles are not too bad though. Another one opened up my gum a bit but can’t grow further because its stuck.
Anything I can do as a guy in early 30“ to make more space for them? Id also like to avoid potential infection in the little gum opening.
I don’t snore, but my nose can’t keep up during sports. I have to actively expand my nostrils to get enough flow during sports. Would be nice to fix that too
Thanks!
Keep those beauties!

Probably.

I’m turning 20 soon and my wisdom teeth have not come in yet. I have all my teeth and my maxilla isn’t too narrow but it could be wider. I’m hoping I end up making room for my wisdom teeth as I continue to mew though MSE could be a good idea.
how are the bottom wisdoms doing? It seems that people have an easier time keeping the top, especially since MSE often helps them erupt, but the bottoms are harder to save.
Good luck I hope you get to keep them.
@@Will_4560 I actually think I have a bit more room on the bottom so I’m hoping they have a good chance of fitting. The top have a bit less room which is what I’m trying to solve.
@@sharpshades according to dr.nuaz apparently MSE really helps with wisdom teeth eruption
Jesus Christ dude, they almost stripped me of my wisdom teeth a few years back due to them being crooked and slightly inclined forward, but fortunately (although I was extremely uneasy about it back then) the maximum allowed dosage of local anesthetic was not enough to numb me up, so they've told me that I should do it sedated.
I've chickened out of that option and miraculously, they've all straightened out in the AP plane, now they're only a bit crooked laterally, but I suppose my ortho is going to take care of that.
Even though I have all my teeth, I'm pretty recessed (deviated septum, slight allergy, lack of hard foods and only 6 months of breastfeeding), planning to do a second round of expansion with religious facemask wearing. This video convinced me that my healthy dose of hesitancy is probably what kept me alive. I've battled with depression for a long time, and I've definitely got sleep apnea. I cannot even fathom thinking what would've happened if those teeth get pulled out by some random dentist without any common sense and a holistic overview of the human process.
Right now I am undergoing MSE+braces+facemask treatment, and so far so good. I'm a little unsure about how to make my mandible catch up with the lateral expansion, maybe I'll book a consultation with you Ron if that's all right. Hopefully everything gets corrected in time.
Another small anecdote just to underline the stupidity that Ron is trying to illustrate in these videos: I've had a pretty big cavity in my left mandibular first molar, that promted me to chew predominantly on my right side. I assume this is the reason for which my left maxillary first and second biscupids erupted beside each other instead of behind each other. When my dentist looked at it, he just said confidently that we should pull it out if we don't want food to get stuck in between and fuck up both of them. Luckily I've chickened out of that too. I had a pretty narrow palate back then and I was clueless about expansion, I asked him if he thinks I would need braces (I reasonably needed them), to which he replied that no, it's a fuss and there is really no real reason for it.
Thank you for what you're doing, you are truly inspirational, and you motivate me to try and spread this truth around in my circles to the best of my ability.
Ugh this video makes me mad that I pulled them outside even needing to at 21 years old.
Unfortunately I had my top left and bottom left wisdom teeth removed in 2020(not the right side though). What can I do now? Would getting dental implants in place of the wisdom teeth by any good?
I wish I found this video sooner.
If I only got the 2 lower/bottom wisdom teeth removed am I fucked up?
are wisdom teeth extractions worse when done on the lower arch than the upper arch?
I keep coming across conflicting information on this topic, and I can't find any studies on it. I only see websites for oral surgeons that say wisdom teeth removal does not change your face/jaw shape since they sit on the dental alveolus, although pulling other teeth will shrink your jaw. My oral surgeon is going to perform a MSE procedure on me in the coming months and wants to remove my top wisdom teeth (bottom ones were removed when I was 14, I am now 35). Should it be possible to keep them after the MSE? They are "super erupted" so I don't know if they can stay in.
I don`t have 1 wisdom tooth. I took an x-ray and There were only 3. I used have 2 on top and 1 on the bottom that was removed, he was without space and sprouting sideways. Now I only have the 2 on top. what should I do lol
Then what should I do? My bottom, right wisdom, teeth is causing severe pain and throbbing and hurting. I have all four of my wisdom teeth but I still have an asymmetrical face on the side hurts and I’m feeling like that is causing the issue. So wouldn’t getting that removed make my face more symmetrical?
Just get them removed. Dont listen to this absolute rubbish
what happens if you already had them pulled what next i also noticed a flat midface after the extraction i had all 4. i might of had abnormal bone loss still trying to figure that out. what the best option to reverse negative effects
Ron. Which is worse in your opinion, premolar extraction then retraction or wisdom tooth removal?
Of course premolar extractions are way way worse
@@bunb8541 premolars are half the size of wisdom teeth. And usually the space does not get fully closed by retraction. Usually only half of it and the rest is molar mesialisation so we are talking about a 3-4mm of retraction. Is that really much worse than wisdom teeth extraction??
Bad vs. ugly.
@@JawHacks yes but which would you say is worse?
@@bunb8541 actually after some thinking you are correct. Premolar extraction ruins the arch shape, gives flatter cheeks and usually after wisdom teeth extraction the teeth movement is very minimal usually none to one or two millimeters so yeah. I think Ron is over estimating the damage wisdom teeth extraction does… it’s nice to have them giving support but their absence does not mean the teeth will always shift back
I just got my top removed and scheduled to remove my remaining bottom wisdom teeth, even with crowded lower teeth should I just keep the remaining wisdom teeth? They are impacted at a angle but they are beneath the gum line and don’t cause pain.
What are my options if I HAVE to get a wisdom tooth pulled because of a cavity then? Doesn't seem like I have many options under that circumstance.
Is extracting the tooth really the only way to treat the cavity?
Just because you have a cavity it doesn't mean you need to remove the tooth unless it's got into the root / nerve
@@JawHacks I just got a molar removed because a cavitie was right next to the nerve causing issues, and tmj-like symptoms, the lower wisdom tooth on the same side has very slowly gotten worse (cavitiy) over the years and while it's not currently causing issues, it's deep and has started to spread to the tooth next to it. I am getting a bone fused replacement for the molar though, thought it'd be worth the extra money to at least have something physically there for my jaw and to have something occupying that space of my mouth instead of letting it shrink more/collapse over time. I'm almost 25 and up until this point have had all my teeth, but also had bad dental hygeine all my life that I'm just now seriously correcting. High sugar intake (fruit mostly now a days) and not flossing/brushing daily have caught up with me.
Phenomenal video
My guy, I'm stoked for that Conor video.
Could a bone graft or tooth implant replace the function of wisdom teeth?
In theory, yes, but I've never heard of anyone getting wisdom teeth replacement implants. Not sure way. I think the bone goes quick after extraction.
i was only born with one wisdom tooth according to xrays, what do you think the implications of that are? asymmetry? not going to get my one removed though ofc
Potentially, asymmetry. Potentially a shallower face in general.
What if you had all 4 premolars extracted? Should I try to keep my wisdom teeth anyways? Im 17
hey Ron what do you think i should do have 4 wisdom teeth 3 of them are perfect but my dentist recommends one should be extracted in my mandible its impacted at a 45 degree angle. what would you recommend
I don't know, but it's good that you are weary. If it's not causing you any problems presently then you may consider asking the doctor if it's okay to punt on extraction for now. Then keep an eye on it.
@@JawHacks as of yet its not causing me any pain at all its just in a 45 degree angle. are you familiar with the Bach Technique?
Hello Ron, I have my lower left wisdom teeth come out at an angle and thus it couldn't erupt properly. What can be done to get it to erupt properly?
Expansion may be your only hope. Even then it could be a long shot.
@@JawHacks It's my lower jaw, wouldn't I need SFOT for that?
Brad Pitt had his wisdom teeth removed. He looks good
Fr? 😂 I also think people make way too big a deal out of removal of wisdom teeth in the mewing communities. If ya got em removed obviously it would have been better to keep em but what's done is done
Where did you learn this from?
6:47 yes
Hi ron i consulted my dr and talked abt mse he's telling me it's not going to be beneficial for me because the maxilla has a fronto-zygomatic junction(frontal bone and cheekbone) and in order to expand the jaw either he has to cut the upper jaw and detach it from the zygomas or else there's no point in trying to expand the maxilla. My maxilla is very narrow i have crowded teeth and high palate. What should i do? Do you have any suggestions? Much love!
Have you spoken with an orthodontist who offers piezo surgical assist cutting just the mid palatal suture and the nasal spine? Maybe your doctor is not in possession of that tool which is why he is pigeon-holing you into the less-than-ideal procedure you describe.
anything i can do after having wisdom teeth removed at 16? (17 now) also will mewing work without having wisdom teeth?
Keep mewing and you will most likely be fine. The mews themselves don't even think extractions play that big a deal in facial aesthetics

But people up for MMA have to remove them because that's where the cut often goes. Not removing means staying with all related stuff like sleep apnea. What about their house after the MMA?
The talk about job prestige and how you have experience in construction was out of topic
Maybe but I make it a point in my coaching to steer aimless young guys into the construction trades. It's fun work and after getting licensed you can make good money as a self employed contractor, much better than your average office job.
@@JawHacks it'll be a prized job when ai starts taking all the white collar jobs. Not sure if you've thought about that too
I feel I’ve been screwed I just got mine out late 2021 and I did notice my face changed but I’ve been mewing before getting rid of them so my face is looking better but I wish I wouldn’t kept them and just did mse to help make them fit… shits so annoying we need new orthodontist like you to help young people and the next gen we are made to have strong jaws and faces… shit just pisses me off…
When did you Ron removed yours wisdom teeth? U have good eye area, no bags
When I was 11, back in 2001-2002.
How does this mesh with your JawCast #48 w/ Dr. Evans? starting at about 8 minutes: ua-cam.com/video/4sXMhalQ8Bk/v-deo.html
Hi, for my Jaw surgery they need to remove wisdom teeth because it is needed for BSSO and crowded teeth
i have a recessed jaw and gummy smile
Removing lower teeth in preparation for surgery is a complicated topic. I'd love to bring on a surgeon to discuss this sometime.
@@JawHacks thanks, they ask me to remove wisdom on top and bottom, and premolars for severe crowding
