Hey Ron, loved the vid. Do you think it would be a good idea to just DIY cut my plastic see through retainers? That way I would wear retainers at night only on my front 6 teeth to keep my smile, and I could still try to expand my palate with mewing, even if it barely changes. I'm 17, never had visible crooked teeth, but some reason I still got braces at age 13, they took them off 3 months ago. Unfortunately I can't afford any real treatments right now, but I may buy some myospots to check if I'm doing mewing correctly. Thank you for your videos, love from Hungary.
That S the worst thing you could do. Leaving your back teeth uncovered from the plastic will let them erupt more, and will leave you with an anterior open bite.
@@robertoferretti4508 You've got a point there. I did think about this, but maybe I could cut some of the bottom part of the retainer down, so that non of my teeth touch the plastic.😂 I know it sounds really dumb, but I just don't want my face to stay the way it is. I literally have hollywood like definition on one side, and a flat longer face on the other. Probably my best option is to just stop wearing retainers at all, and hope for the best. Do you have any suggestions?
Great video man. I love your channel. I only have upper wisdom teeth. I am hoping to save them via the MSE + facemask approach, but I'm unsure if it will be fine to have upper wisdom teeth without the lower pair.
@@Will_4560 I was not born with lower wisdom teeth. It's genetic. My dad had only one whilst my mom had all four. I do think I could save them but I'm wondering how it will work out without any teeth to oppose them. I'm 17 right now and I really hope I can proceed with MSE + facemask in time. I don't think I have enough space currently, for I am recessed.
@@EkilRevolution I get that. We've talked on instagram. But the thing is with MSE and facemask it will just be for you upper jaw, so you'd have to be okay with getting an overbite, unless your lower jaw is having tmj problems and wants to rest forward (imagine jutting your jaw forward). Some people have that because they were unnaturally pushed back with orthodontic treatment, but I don't think you've ever had orthodontics. If that were the case then as your upper jaw came forward, the lower jaw would slide forward too and finally be able to bite in the healthy position it wants to be in. It doesn't sound like you have that problem. I guess an option for you would be, if you actually did this, you could do lower jaw surgery after because you already have no wisdom teeth there (which is a part of jaw surgery, they almost always take your lower wisdoms out). The hard part would be finding a provider for this lmao. They don't like people creating overbites because usually orthodontics wants to fix overbites. I suppose you could tell them you want MSE but you also want the facemask hooks installed, and then you just go off and wear the facemask lmao.
I'm in a similar interesting situation with two upper but no lowers, where my airway oriented/MSE provider Orthodontist recommends removing the uppers in favor of a better bite as there are no lowers to match, even with MSE+Facemask. I guess the question here is how important is the bite really compared to retaining your wisdom teeth?
@@Will_4560 I can tell you are quite knowledgeable. I actually do have TMJ problems and would actually benefit from a more forward maxilla without doing anything to the mandible. When I open my mouth, my jaw clicks and changes to a jutted position. When i close it it is pushed back to align with my maxilla else i have an underbite. I have mild tinnitus, and it goes away when i jut my jaw. I may not have had much orthodontic work, but I did mouth breath a lot as a child as well as be on a liquid diet for some time and a soft american diet outside of that. I believe this led to my recessed maxilla. So I would not get and overbite from facemask unless I got an extreme amount of forward growth of the maxilla like 3 cm.
Too late for me bud. I had SIX, yes SIX wisdom teeth removed in my teens, and probably lost some depth because of it. Now, my tongue only fits in my mouth when my neck is fully "erect" LOL

Just watched a video on this technique yesterday, but never saw a wisdom get corrected with it. I think we should asked ourselves why the wisdom is impacted to begin with and fix that first which is why we expand the mouth.
Will putting a bone graft in place of the potential cavitation possibly stop the face from sinking in? Or at least prevent it from getting worse? I've had two lower cavitations post wisdom tooth removal filled with bone grafts.(cavitations got infected and necrosed chunks of my jaw) it's only been about 4 years, but I don't think my face has sunk in any further? But it's hard to tell as my facial appearance has fluctuated between two pregnancies in that time. My husband still has his wisdom teeth. His lowers have grown in fine, but his uppers are impacted. If he had them removed and followed up with bone graft could that at least prevent it from shrinking in further? He already has proper body and tongue posture. Btw, thanks for the content! Trying to share it with as many moms as I can without being branded "that paranoid lady."😂
I don't know much about bone grafting after wisdom teeth removal but I would say that if it's an option, it could only help. Thanks for sharing as always.
Bro, you forgot about imdo (I know it can’t be done after 25) it’s a great option to match with MSE since it does so little damage, it’s the king of Minimally invasive surgery when it comes to the lower
Imdo was partially made to save lower wisdom teeth, I know there are bearly any providers but for under 25 it’s better than MSDO since IMDO gives 3D expansion and bone growth
What can a person with limited financial resources do after having 3 wisdom teeth and 4 permanent teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment? What is the best way to protect a weak tooth? And can a palatal expander help fix the damage to the teeth and jaw?
Can double jaw surgery save wisdom teeth? Im not a surgeon but it would make sense that if you’re bringing the upper jaw and lower jaw forward with surgery it should make space at the back for the wisdom teeth to grow in, right?
Amazing. Do you consider not doing anything with wisdom teeth as an adult (early 30’)a good option in case they are partially impacting other teeth? Some have partially surfaced but others not which are just kind of stuck… So far no pain and inflammation there but I read they can have potential for infection, and in extreme case death

Ron do you think it’s worth it for me to have SFOT done? I want to save my lower wisdom teeth, rapidly correct my occlusion/cant, address asymmetry best I can
You can do it but it's unstable the teeth are gonna get back to their first position with time, but you can use sfot just before they erupt so they have enough space, but you'll have to use retainers until all 4 wisdom teeth finished erupting. After that if you stop wearing retainers your teeth will become slightly crooked because they're going to shift backwards BUT you saved your wisdom teeth wish amazing, you could get expansion later to fix the crooked teeth
I had a talk with my mom a few days ago on how irresponsible it was of her to get my teeth extracted at a young age even after I showed reluctance towards the procedure. She doesn't trust the fact that extractions only feeds into the problem of having small jaws. That decision should’ve been up to me to decide when I'm older. I honestly see it as child abuse even though her intentions were only positive. Now it's at the cost of my facial structure. I have 28 teeth. My top wisdom teeth are fine. It's just my lower wisdom teeth that aren't out properly. I guess I'd have to start off with an MSDO provider.
I am in the exact same boat as u rn. Upper 2 premolars we’re extracted due to moms persistence and now I’m stopping my orthodontic treatment. Now my lower wisdom teeth are impacted
After my orthodontic treatment, removal of 3 teeths. They gave me retainers to wear almost life time at the same time i discovered mewing so i stopped wearing retainers and started mewing. Eventually my teeths got relapsed.
Been mewing for 5 years, more than 1 and a half year before I started my class 3 malocclusion treatment (top and lower teeth touching even at the incisors) Got my 4 healthy wisdom teeth extracted to start treatment, had elastics on top back molars and lower front canines to pull my lower jaw back Worked good enough fixed my occlusion in 2 years, wore my retainers for 1 month then gave up on them, been mewing since and havent relapsed. Both retainers dont fit anymore they are too small. I can certainfly feel ive lost airway space tho and my nose feels more stuffed than before. Asked a bunch of stomatologists for mse+facemask before my braces treatment but its not a thing here in France. All those new based treatments are great but very expensive and not available everywhere, mewing will help you if you stick to it and actually manage to fix your bad habits youve dealt with your whole life
Yeah, for creating room for wisdom teeth I think IMDO is the best way for the lower jaw. But again, it's like who does that? lol. I also don't know a ton about it, because just so few people use it.
If the wisdom teeth is covered by gum, I would recommend rinsing with saline water. You could use a curved irrigation syringe just so u can clean under the gum flap that is covering your teeth. You could also go under oral surgery to cut that piece of gum and keep the teeth. If you don't do this, you will eventually contract pericoronitis, it's no fun...
Can i just say about the research that i have done as a naturopath and homeopath....that bony deformities of any kind come under the umbrella of the disease syphillus.....and so to slowly diminish this genetice condition the mother needs to take syphillinum the remedy while baby is in utero and then follow the Western A. Price diet Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon.....and then learn mewing as a child among other modalities

I wish I had found your channel 4 years ago when I had my left side wisdom teeth removed
Can you list the orthodontists that perform both msdo and mse at the same time? Thanks
Hey Ron, great video, I was wondering are you finished with your orthodontic journey or is anything else you plan to do?
Great video man. I love your channel. I only have upper wisdom teeth. I am hoping to save them via the MSE + facemask approach, but I'm unsure if it will be fine to have upper wisdom teeth without the lower pair.
Theres a very high chance you can save your uppers
So you were just born without lower wisdom teeth? I wonder how that happens
Fk orthodontists man
exactly the advice i needed, unfortunately only my bottom wisdom teeth are impacting
What have you done? My lower teeth are coming in impacted on the lower and I don’t want them extracted
@@noellealdi881 havent really done anything. i'll probably have to get the left one extracted because its almost completely horizontal, but the right one might be savable
Who are the three mse+msdo providers you're talking about? Are they all viable?
They took out my wisdom teeth because of the BSSO cuts for my bimax. Hopefully the bimax will offset any negative changes.
Hey Ron you forgot about the Bach technique which can upright molars including wisdom teeth in some cases.
Just watched a video on this technique yesterday, but never saw a wisdom get corrected with it. I think we should asked ourselves why the wisdom is impacted to begin with and fix that first which is why we expand the mouth.
Exactly

Hoping from you to read this. I would like to know if there is an MSE provider in the Uk.

Awsome. King Material!
I thought it's sometimes done older than 25?
Rarely and it’s always 26 and 27y/o
What can a person with limited financial resources do after having 3 wisdom teeth and 4 permanent teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment?
What is the best way to protect a weak tooth?

Can double jaw surgery save wisdom teeth? Im not a surgeon but it would make sense that if you’re bringing the upper jaw and lower jaw forward with surgery it should make space at the back for the wisdom teeth to grow in, right?
Sadly no it doesn't work because the maxilia is sliced and brought forward and upward but actually the dental arch won't be bigger
Amazing. Do you consider not doing anything with wisdom teeth as an adult (early 30’)a good option in case they are partially impacting other teeth?
Some have partially surfaced but others not which are just kind of stuck…
So far no pain and inflammation there but I read they can have potential for infection, and in extreme case death
Unfortunayely thy talked my saughter into removal of her imp asctef lower abd last munute tild her the upper had to go too. I will NEVER forgive myself gor caving in. EVER. Hello! What do you do if with expansion there seems to be room for the bottom wisdom teeth to come in but they have rotated toward the other teeth? Asking for my 15 year old which is currently wearing expanders on the top and braces on the bottom. On a different note: Have you thought about bringing Dr. Christensen on your show?
All of this stuff sounds so scary including removing the teeth hahaha
So what if they were already removed? How do you reverse the effects(falling back of teeth)? If I don’t get implants then how much space should there ideally be back there (behind 2nd molars)?
Hi, did you get implants and did that reverse the effects?
My whole face has sunk back. Have you done a video on Implants......because i am not a fan of having artifical screws/stumpgs ect in my body. Two wisdom teeth missing, one remaining and one never developed. Class III underbit, 4 more top missing teeth on the top.....one broken off botton tooth.

Great video! Would you be able to save your wisdom teeth if you pull the 2nd molars to make more space for the wisdom teeth? Any thoughts on this idea?
Don’t pull molars. Look up dental distress syndrome

hey ron, quick question, does DJS work for this poblem?
I ask this because I only have wisdom teeth on the right side of my lower jaw and I don't know how it would work in that scenario.

Great question, I’m missing my top two, and want implants too
One of my wisdom teeth have a serious cavity because it hard to clean up , I don’t know if I will find a dentist who accept to treat that . I don’t want to remove it
I hated my too round face and very square jaw when young. I have to say my face looks better with a thinner jaw. My cheek area has no back teeth but my cheeks
My cheeks are fine not collapsed..still quite wide For me personally, I like a thinner jaw.

Hey Ron, thank you for the video! who are the 3 providers worldwide that you know that offer MSE and MSDO?
also i heard that MSDO can cause joint problems later on, how much of that is true?
Between 5 and 10 militers is the limit of expansion you can get with Msdo sadly, more than that will destroy your Tmj. Even 8-10 is too much i think
@@dhiraaribnal-azwar7840 honestly I think MMA surgery might be the best bet at this point, my ortho does not offer MSDO

Mine are so impacted what do i do
I had a talk with my mom a few days ago on how irresponsible it was of her to get my teeth extracted at a young age even after I showed reluctance towards the procedure.
That is the impulsive approach
of course you are going to relapse if you stop retainers
Been mewing for 5 years, more than 1 and a half year before I started my class 3 malocclusion treatment (top and lower teeth touching even at the incisors)
Got my 4 healthy wisdom teeth extracted to start treatment, had elastics on top back molars and lower front canines to pull my lower jaw back
Worked good enough fixed my occlusion in 2 years, wore my retainers for 1 month then gave up on them, been mewing since and havent relapsed.
