From seeing him in the rammstein videos I'd never guess that he'd be so nice. He's a gentleman! His history is so interesting and I was touched by him saying he was by himself in such a young age. Now it all makes sense for me that due to their difficult life trajectories they can make music that has so many feelings and criticisms for society in general. Thanks for the interview.
The Rammstein guys all seem so fuckin’ nice. I saw them in Arizona the last time they played, must’ve been about 6 years ago. Besides being the best live show I’ve ever seen, they walked down a ramp from back stage not only w/ the American flag, but the Arizona flag as well. Then, at the end of the show Til said “The members of Rammstein thank you”, took a bow, and walked off stage.
Loved the show I went to, when it finished, Till said 'People of Coventry, England. Thank you for singing our German songs with us'. Thought it was magic.

I've been a journalist for 33 years. The interviewer, in this case, is not really listening - he's waiting for the next question. It's quite sad. An interview can last up to two hours and get cut down to 15-20 minutes. There is a depth of history here that should have been covered.
@@stevenzimmerman5751 it upset me how the interviewer moved past the mans experiences without regard.. to read what equates to shitposts, stupid questions that Kruspe answered in a way that raised the value of the otherwise worthless line of conversation, a segway to some experience, yet rather than taking the hand out and pulling the mans story our more elaborately by simply asking to know more, he would abruptly move on to the next shitpost. wasted opportunity. borderline insulting. He's gotten way better now days... but yeah, he was so stale in this. Richard, along with all of the guys in Rammstein are highly interesting and smart guys. He needed to actually converse with him. Missed opportunity.
I could listen to his stories all day. I was born and raised in Switzerland until I was 18 and absolutely love Rammstein, never stopped listening to them either since I moved to Canada 14 years ago. Never will!
America is different in many customs from Europe, by design (all the 19th century really, didn't start 're-anglicizing' until after WW1 and into WW2), however it is proper to at least make a half-attempt to stand from a chair when someone is shaking hands, but the complication here may have been the bar-stool. I have never ever seen anyone get up off a bar stool to shake hands, it is generally done in passing or whatnot and standing up off a bar-stool to shake hands would be weird even if one person wasn't sitting.
Got to talk to Richard in a small venue in Ohio before they played, traveled from Indiana just to see them again. Very personable. I don't think too many people knew who he was, he said he likes to watch the opening acts. Rammstein is still my favorite heavy metal band, all other bands haven't sounded good over time, Rammstein is the only one that has. I even like them better than Metalica, Megadeth, and Slayer. And their concerts? Fuggetaboutit...
that opening act part of your comment is cool in and of it self. He's a legend and yet he will stand on the side of the stage and watch young up and comings. Maybe that's why he's the only one of the guys in rammstein to make a solo album.

Black hair, black nails, a little bit of eyeliner... He is so lowkey Gothic, it melts my heart 😍😍😍😍
He is awesome.
Dark greetings from Germany 🤟🖤
Black nails on the right, white nails on the left
I wish Rammstein and Gary Numan would collaborate some time...
@@elburropeligroso4689 i guess it would sound like kraftwerk
Not very low key lol but it makes sense rammstein has a lot of heavy industrial/ goth influences in their music
Rammstein shares a lot of the same things as goth bands and a lot of goth people like rammstein but they are not accepted as goth music kind of like type o negative, the cult and Depeche Mode
Richard always appears like he loves being onstage. His dedication to creating his own tone and hard hitting riffs is admirable.
I love how through the years he still paints his nails and sticks to his image. It would be a dream come true to talk to this man, so many stories to hear.
Thought it was magic.
hahaha man that takes me back. "if there is one good place on Earth...I think that it is Perth! good night" I'm paraphrasing from a hazy memory, they played Big Day Out here in 2016 in Western Australia
I wish the interviewer was stronger, he had a lot of opportunity for follow up questions that could have explored some of his answers in more detail.
Drake Wiza so true, but not sure how much he had and he may have wanted to get though all the questions on the paper.
Kruspe still showed respect, thats a genuine dude right there
he sounds and looks bored 😐
yea this guy really is terrible at interviews
Even if he didn't speak, you'd still know he's german lol
It's cause he's sexy lol
💯💯💯
@@ashleymillican3809 lol most of germans are not sexy at all

I love that these badass rockstars take the time to do these little shows for fans. It's really classy and really fun to learn more about their story.
I would love to hang out and have a beer with Richard. He seems so grounded.
Got into Emigrate sometime last year, and they really don't get enough love in my opinion. Kruspe has an awesome talent, and I hope one day we get at least one more Emigrate album.
But don't forget about this:
-SSL is the best album of 2014
-'My world' became a soundtrack of 'Resident Evil 3'
-Disks are selling even in Australia
But I agree, they need MOOOOORE fans
Foreign Rammstein fans: "Rammstein"
Rammstein: "Rammstein"
The entire german speaking population: "Rammstein"
Americans: "rumstEEEEn"
So true xD
AAAAAMEEEEEIKAAA
@Crow that sounds like a punk band xD
But pronounces Frankenstein correctly.
@@luigidimagnaong1141 That's "Fronkensteen". (Young Frankenstein refference)
Having just recently discovered Rammstein... I am so hooked by the drama and humor of this band and so in love with Richard ! He seems so generous and down to earth and GORGEOUS... I almost can't stand it ! ( almost )
He stood up at the end to shake his hand, then sat back down. Yes baby, you have class ❤😍
I absolutely love Richard. He has an amazing talent and just so humble. I hope one day to see them in person.
Met Richard at Chicago Open Air 2016 and got his autograph. Such a humble and cool dude
I'm in Chicago too. Missed that show though
I was there. Brought my son
At a journalism major, he's giving you so much more, you can go off the script sometimes man.. There's a lot of open questions from his responses you could have followed up on!
Yeah the interviewer was shit
He's gotten way better now days... but yeah, he was so stale in this. Richard, along with all of the guys in Rammstein are highly interesting and smart guys. He needed to actually converse with him. Missed opportunity.
Yeah Gruhamed's more recent interviews had more follow up questions, he's definitely improved since 2014. I agree he was stale in this interview.
I could listen to his stories all day. I was born and raised in Switzerland until I was 18 and absolutely love Rammstein, never stopped listening to them either since I moved to Canada 14 years ago. Never will!
..why would you? ..stop listening..i mean.
he is so kind I want to hug him
I can only thank Richard for doing this interview because this video alone got me into Rammstein. One of my new favorite bands, absolutely love them!
Omg Richard is so damn adorable and sweet, I love his smile and his accent sm🥰
Notice at the end of the interview, Richard displays perfect manners by standing up to shake Grahm's hand. America can use a good lesson on manners.
Yeah, what an ass.
I do that after sex
Thats europe. Ive never seen anyone shake hands while sitting. Thats rude and stupid.
@@fearnobeer9077 😂😂
America is different in many customs from Europe, by design (all the 19th century really, didn't start 're-anglicizing' until after WW1 and into WW2), however it is proper to at least make a half-attempt to stand from a chair when someone is shaking hands, but the complication here may have been the bar-stool. I have never ever seen anyone get up off a bar stool to shake hands, it is generally done in passing or whatnot and standing up off a bar-stool to shake hands would be weird even if one person wasn't sitting.
"That's right" for most of this one, not 100 percent, but this Wikipedia entry was way more accurate than Corey's from Slipknot.
Dude, Richard looks sooo handsome and he's so cute and such a gentleman, beautiful man and wonderful 💓 makes my heart beats, I love this interview
Love Richard, love Rammstein, love Emigrate. Great interview
Maximus Aralieous passion
Maximus Aralieous Till lindemann is doing a solo album aswell should come out in the next few months dont know the exact date
Alpharius It is out now actually, already bout it.
Alpharius Agreed.
I want Richard to narrate audiobooks.
Richard: That‘s when I finally made the difficult choice to escape from East Germany.

Interviewer: So your first band was called Orgasm Death Gimmick...
He's obviously heard plenty of stories about the Hoff before....
Lol
Exactly!! Jesus this dude could not be less interested in who he is interviewing. I can see the words “are you done talking yet?” In his eyes while he queues up the next question lol
Yeah, the interviewer isn’t too good at interviewing.
Anybody know how he actually got out??
This is the greatest interview concept ever! Whoever thought of it deserves a medal!
Richard is one of the most down to earth and humble musicians I've ever seen
Richard ist such a classic gentleman...❤️
Richard is always kind, sweet and playful. Love him!
This is one of the coolest dudes I've seen...he's totally cool and authentic. I'm not a fan of the band - but i really like this guy and his personality and his ideas...he's a humble, eloquent and thoughtful dude!!
If I met Richard Kruspe, I'd be all nervous, and talking like an idiot... xD
Scross Gaming i met him briefly in 2010.. And I was everything you just said xD
Kind of like the host does here
I would say something like: "Hallo, bist du nicht der Gitarrist von Rammstein? Das ist zwar nicht so meine musik, aber RESPEKT!"
Admittedly, I’d do that with any of the band members!
I could have listened to an hour long interview...
Hands down best band I've ever seen live and I've seen almost all the big name bands. Their stage show is awesome and they always sound crystal clear.....just a badass band.
Richard
When you spend quite a bit of time with people similar to Richard you do get used to it!
Not to mention his sharp accent doesn't resembling at all the German "characteristic" accent.
he lives in newyork for over 10 years now, so he has to speak english every day. if you had to speak german everyday, you'd improve quickly too.

The first 20 seconds of this makes this the best video loudwire has ever made. Pure genius really
Really nice interviewer, a genuinely friendly guy who never puts words in people's mouths. You don't often find that.
Damn his accent is sexy! And so is he! He has a very gentleman way of handling himself. Much respect!

A lot of Germans can..I was sent over there to cover for a worker who was on the sick and nearly everyone I met spoke good English, a lot better than I could speak German 😂
well it´s because he lived in NY I guess
he also speaks rather decent Russian

Everything is very deep and double meaning with these guys including the songs. By far and away my fav band of all time. Deustchland and radio we're just released 2019. Freaking phenomenal artists
His guitar work and solos are what got me into Rammstein
"Rammsteen"? Really?
It's not like the name hasn't been around for years and years now..
You might as well say "Rammsteen, Reelly"
Not like they have 4 songs pronouncing it or anything... Oh wait...
My Name is Ramsteen so I got caught off guard.
What a lovely guy, I like his image too and painted black nails.
Black on one hand white on the other

Emigrate is amazing. I like how Richard keeps the spirit of Rammstein alive in the music.
I love that Richard so supportive of his attempt at speaking German!
One of the coolest guitarist ever. Ever seen him on stage. Cool as hell
