Too true! People like to hear the experience of real life people who are not connected to the company before purchasing something they can not see or touch themselves. Your video helped me out greatly. Just ordered my tree and VERY excited! Thank you for helping me out!
I ordered the Vermont White Spruce 9ft & received it yesterday. After watching your video, I am going to return it. The Noble Fir is stunning !! The color & realism is precisely what I envisioned what my perfect Christmas tree would look like. Thank You for this review!!!
This video has been really useful for me. I think that if I do get a tree, I will go for a mini one and put it on a table, rather than the full sized. I miss the real trees which we had in our house in my childhood. They were beautiful and smelt lovely, but they were hard to get up and there is no denying that they were high maintenance! The droppings would go everywhere! Thank you for the video.
Thanks for this video. After seeing this I've realized i'd prefer one without lights. The fluffing while lights are attached looks like it could be a problem after the first year. Great video!!!
Really useful review thanks! Even in your non sponsored video it looks fantastic for a fake tree. You've convinced me to pay the extra bucks for a balsam hill!
This was a great video! Like you, I realized there was not a lot of non-sponsored video content for this tree. I really wanted a detail video before I made such an expensive purchase. Thank you for this review.
I was trying to find a detailed video on this tree, this is very helpful. Thank you!! I have narrowed it down to four trees and struggling to decide without seeing them in person.
100% know how you feel! I was struggling too. Especially because the sponsored stuff came off too good to be true haha! but I'm super happy with my choice. I feel like its a great balance between the more structured stuff and the more organic, swaying branches. I also liked the traditional feel because I just think it's timeless. I do like the Norway spruce and the other twig-like trees but I feel like I would get over them quickly. So opted for this one to just meet the years where I want more grandeur and then other years where I want more paired back styles.
Yes! thanks for posting a video too! I think we need some more of these high purchase items reviewed in a non sponsored way to get an idea of what we're getting 😊
Loui, thanks so much for creating this video!! I absolutely needed to see it. My Balsam Hill Classic Blue Spruce just arrived, but haven’t yet opened the box. I’ve never purchased a tree sight unseen, so hopefully it’s a go. I was getting a bit nervous when you moved the branches around, waiting for them to snap. Lol. I’m feeling more confident about setting mine up now. My request: PLEASE do a dissemble video after Christmas.
Great video Loui, I have actually never left a message before on UA-cam but, for some reason with this crazy lockdown I have been Christmas tree shopping for the last month and must have watched loads of reviews and like you say, it’s amazing how much important detail people leave out. If this is your first post then I have to say you have nailed it, great advice and attention to detail. I have actually just ordered and received a tree from a company called royal tree company based in the Netherlands. It’s unusual because it has 98 percent pe branches, that’s the realistic detail on the end of the balsam hill tree . I haven’t opened the whole of the tree branches yet but first impressions are it’s amazing. Maybe you will inspire me to post my first review. Thanks again cheers paul.
Thanks for your comment Paul! 💯 make a video on your new tree! I’d love to see it. Hopefully with the percentage of real foliage it’s still nice and dense. The balsam hill range had the Norway Spruce which was 95% real spruce tips but I looked at reviews and it seemed more sparse. Which is still totally a look with the right decor. But I opted for the more dense classic shape with a bit or organic tips poking out for a traditional feel. In the process of collating my decorations so a new vid will be up soon! Stay safe in lockdown. I’ve just come out of our strict lockdown in Melbourne. But by the looks of it, the lockdown was worth it. Didn’t feel like it at the time so I understand how it feels. *virtual hug!*
I'm glad I came across your video I just bought a Balsam hill flip tree and it's intimidating because it has a big gap where the mechanism is. Thanks for the helpful tips.😊
How exciting! The flip trees do look good. I didn’t have enough room to store it haha! Otherwise I would have gotten one too. I reckon a bit of fluffing the inner fronds upwards and outwards should cover that middle hinge part 👌✨
@@LouiBurke I had an issue with my flip tree so I had to return it, but I will get the Balsam Fir tree (non-flip) I hope it will be in perfect condition 🙏🏾
@@cjackson3019 mm no issues with wobbly/loose branches. Only the slight fraying on the branches like seen in the vid. Maybe because it was the hinge style it was prone to getting wobbly branches with the swing over action? I hope the new one is all good!
I agree with you there is a big gap between the sections - one of the worst things about all their trees only not different from other artificial trees.
Thank you for showing the real Deal. I'm kind of disappointed that Balsam Hill is STILL charging an arm and a leg when the only thing remaining that they do better than the competition is the layout of the tree itself. In terms of build quality, realistic needles (I mean... they look comparitively cheap on the nobilis AND the nordmann) , coloration and price other companies run CIRCLES around them. If those companies manage to get the naturalistic layout of these trees worked out too balsam hill will not only loose their somewhat wonky first place in realistic trees and plummet DEEP immediately. Typical case of "resting on your laurels. And all that said by someone who just bought a balsam hill nobilis....
Yeah totally understand. In Australia there are virtually no options available in the market. It’s pretty much base level toilet brush faux look and then high end price point balsam hill. No middle man. Comparatively to the US and UK where there are so many more options. Especially that viral one at home depot that looks great and a good price point. So for where I’m located and what’s available, balsam hill is the best thing going. I think too, with such an investment I won’t be looking to get a new tree anytime soon which is a bonus haha! I do love the trees.
It's lovely that you decided to record an inboxing and assembly of your Balsam hill tree for your viewers💞 I live in the states and have had my 7.5 foot Blue Spruce for 7 years now and I love it! It's a real quality product, no complaints here. Although 1 thing I've noticed this year is the shedding of the faux pines. So watch out for that in the long run. One tip I would recommend to everyone is to purchase AFTER the holiday once the trees go on clearance 👍
Brooklyn, I’m in So. Calif, & just received my Classic Blue Spruce. Will open & set up soon. First Balsam Hill purchase. They’re having a half-off sale, btw.
@@debbiem6406 You will love it! It pairs very well with my heavier ornaments. I have no issues with the branches giving way and not being able to hold up the ornaments. Happy Holidays to you 💞🌺
I find that the tree is beautiful overall but I’m not happy with the fact it doesn’t hold as many ornaments as I had hoped. I have an awful lot of blown glass ornaments and this tree is a little too full. It took an off a lot of effort to put tournaments on this tree and it is I thought they have higher than my old tree which accommodated everything easily. This is more decorator tree and not for an old fashion Victorian look. Most people should be very happy I think.
This is great! Thanks so much for doing this review. Needed to see this! Where about a in Australia are you? I am in Melbourne and it said shipping can be up to 10 days
I’m based in inner-city suburbs of Melbourne. The emails of dispatch and what not came after the tree was delivered which was weird. So it just randomly showed up one day. I ordered it on a Saturday and it came on the Tuesday (cup day public holiday) so it was pretty quick. ☺️
@@LouiBurke OOoh thats good to know. I ordered mine Sunday and am also inner city melbourne - hoping it arrives this week!!!! They are hedging their bets on delivery times, telling me likely to be 7-10 days. I also read that it is easier to fluff the top section on the ground before placing it onto the top of the tree in case this helps anyone else looking for styling tips :)
