Harley-Davidson Sport Glide Review. 107 Softail Cruiser/Tourer motorcycle with retro/modern styling

- Опубліковано 4 жов 2020
- We review the Harley-Davidson Sport Glide 107 motorbike.
Harley call it "An aggressive combination of cruising agility and long-distance touring." but I'm not sure we completely agree.
We look at the handling, acceleration, brakes, suspension, engine, styling, fuel economy and more.
Find out what we think of this mid-priced softail from Harley-Davidson.
This one comes in the Scorched Orange/Silver Flux. What do you think of that colour? It has the Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin engine and Mantis wheels and black mufflers which give the Sport Glide a stealthy style. We are not fans of the look, but a lot of people are.
It has lots of modern features, like an LED forward-lighting system, USB port and keyless ignition. It has a quick detach front mini-fairing, inverted front forks and a rear mono-shock with external preload adjustment.Rigid engine mounting and internal counterbalancing allows for a smooth ride without giving up the Harley spirit. - Авто та транспорт
Hey guys, love your reviews , watch them all from Belgium 😉 just 1 little problem: as a female biker (Harley Davidson Iron 1200) I'd love to buy a female shirt from you, but they don't exist (just 1, who looks more for non-riders). But it's no reason at all to stop following you guys 😉 Greetings from Antwerp
Vicky H. Thanks Vicky. We did have some; and there’s a few nearing finishing of design. There is one saying Biker Girl; I don’t know if you’ve seen that?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan didn't found that one, but will look it up 🙂 a big thank you!!!
Vicky H. OK great! We appreciate having a few female subscribers (it’s mainly men ) ❤️
Hi Vicky - just to let you know that the new Official Merch T is now online AND available in women's - we hope you like it xx
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Love it!! Just bought 1 for me and 1 for my husband 😍 I run a tattooshop in Antwerp, we meet a lot of bikers riding all types of motorcycles there, I'll wear the t-shirt all the time 😉
Quickly becoming one of the best bike review channels on yt.
Thanks Frankie! 💯👍🏼
Fully agreed, love the depth of the review, not rushing through it
Kristopher Lopez Thank you 💯👍🏼
I agree, the insight and topic discussion is enjoyable , and the scenery is epic!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Donaldson Cole Thank you 🙏
Can’t believe you never mentioned the versatility of removing the saddle bags and fairing to get the naked look 🤭
You did it for us 👍🏼
Just bought an ex-demo in black with a stage 1. Only 133 miles when I picked her up. Very pleased so far. It's a second bike for me so saving for the better weather rides.
That’s great! Keep it shiny! 👍🏼👍🏼
I ride a 2019 in Barracuda Silver with a stage 1.
Imo, best bang for the buck in the softail range.
Parting the bags together is roughly 3k..not including assembly and install, inverted front forks, abs, and cruise all standard. Also, the bags are slightly bigger than the Heritage bags.
MotoRobb Thanks for your comments bro 💯👍🏼
I never really looked at the Sport Glide to be honest. Inverted forks, 2 into 1 exhaust, Storage it looks like it has everything I’ve been searching for in a motorbike.
Yes it kind of went under our radar too
Getting to hire this weekend....looks cool. Thanks for video
You Guys make Great reviews, keep up the good work. Greetings from belgium! I ride a 2020 spruce street Bob
Thanks buddy! Awesome! Much appreciated 👍🏼
The Sport Glide is the best looking Softail of the whole bunch, hands down. Add to that the practicality of the short fairing and the panniers(saddle bags) and it's a winner all round.
I toured the Pyrenees on a Sport Glide and it was a truly amazing companion. Only thing I would say is that the seat is not great for Touring and this is easily resolved by ordering a replacement two part seat with backrest from Mustang.
It’s certainly popular 👍🏼👍🏼
I love how the bike is popping and crackling in the background while you talk about it!
I personally think the styling of that bike is excellent! No one! I mean no one, builds a cruiser like Harley Davidson! Absolutely beautiful machine!
They could have put some sturdier looking bags on it, but the inclusion of the bags is great IMO. I love the way they broke up the chrome with the black, but they should have put mid controls on it and given it more lean angle. I mean it is the “sport” glide, right? You should have shown the bike with the fairing removed and the bags as well. It looks even better that way, I think?
Yes it is isn’t it! 👍🏼
First thing I did with mine was get a bigger screen, the stock one is hopeless, then did a stage one upgrade with a cobra system and it sounds so much better. One thing you did not mention in the video is that you can easily unclip the fairing and panniers and you have a completely different bike.
Excellent. Yes we didn’t mention that 👍🏼
I have a 2018 Sport Glide. So far, I have to say it's the best MC I have owned. Outstanding fit and finish, dream to ride. Great overall cruiser
Awesome! 👍🏼💯
Awesome review chaps thanks 👌🏻
Thanks very much indeed 👍🏼
Another great review 👍
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated 💯
Hey guys...
Love the channel & the laid back presentation style.
Surprisingly relevant content as well...being from Australia it's sometimes hard to relate to some motorcycle reviews.
No such problems with your presentations though...excellent 👌
I have just purchased a 2022 Harley Sport Glide.
I rode various Harley models with the 107 & 114 engines & found the 107 suited my style of riding better.
I know people say that bigger is better...but to my way of thinking if a 107 cubic inch motor is not big enough, you either have a very small doodle or very big balls 🤣😂
Keep up the great work & I hope the move went well mate 👍
Nice looking bike and another great review
Thanks very much 💯👍🏼
Actually more than just air cooled, there’s a radiator at the front that cools oil circulated to cylinder heads, makes a significant difference.
Also the weight of the 2018 Softails is significantly improved especially compared with larger Harley cruisers.
I had an Electraglide and part exchanged it for SportGlide - a huge improvement in ease and enjoyment of riding thanks to significant weight reduction. The SportGlide is the best motorcycle I’ve owned or ridden over 3 decades.
Thanks for your input buddy! We’re glad you’re enjoying the bike 💯👍🏼
I have the same bike stage II ( S&S 475) and it flies !
Awesome! 👍🏼
Love your review of the R18 by the way. We're only just receiving demo versions of those.....but it made me wanna get to restoring my old, tucked away out of sight R90S....oops, I'm showing off now, soz 🤣
Thank you! I really love the R 18! Yes the resto sounds like a good plan!
I am on the lookout for the Sport Glide in this colour
When HD went from the Twin cam to the M8 they revised a lot on all the softail range including the side stand. They shortened it so when moving the bike off the stand it felt less heavy, as there was not so far to move the bike to get it in the vertical position. This aspect might hinder putting the bike on the stand, or taking it off the stand if the surfaces are not even. P.S. All Softail's are air and oil cooled.
Yes the stand has major flaws and we do know about the air/oil cooling 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan 👍 The stand was done so that when prospective buyers in the showroom went to pull the bike off the stand it didn't make the bike feel so heavy. The weight of these bikes puts a lot of people off buying them. The stand was a good idea but it does have limitations. I can just about cope with the weight of my Deluxe but in another 10 years it may well be a different story. Not sure if I said that I bought the last of the Twin Cams on purpose, as I directly compared it to the new M8 when it came out and I much preferred the older Twin Cam. I called up a few HD dealers and managed to find the last new 103 Twin Cam. 😀
Nice review once again! I struggled between this the Fat Bob and Low Rider S. Ended up with the Fat Bob, but sometimes I second guess my choice a little. Love the Scorched Orange color!
The Fat Bob is is much better! 👊🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan In what way? I've ridden the Sport Glide but not the Fat Bob.
@@billybob1511 Fat Bob handles better, corners better, doesn’t scrape footpegs so easily, looks cooler has better riding position, better bars, better styling. Of course this is subjective
Such a great moto review channel. Lots on real life info. I'm looking to buy myself first HD bike and I think the Sport Glide is best all-rounder and best value.
PS: old man is looking buffed and veiny af. :D
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏻
Another great vlog guys. Buy yourself a helmet cam though for the moving clips. You know you can afford it 😉.
Thanks bro! We used to film from the helmet but found it too high to get the bike/road in and much noisier being stuck out in the wind.
You have a great show here lads many thanks. Occasionally I see unhelpful comments essentially saying that because the findings of your motorcycle reviews are almost always very positive that you are somehow shilling for the bike manufacturers. To anyone with a brain in their heads this is nonsense as you are testing premium quality motorcycles the like of which have never before been seen in the history of the world and that these bikes are almost always brilliant in every conceivable way and full of the latest tech so it's hardly surprising your results are usually so positive. I really enjoy the way you carry out your testing which is how I would go about it myself given the chance.
Thank you and yes that’s essentially true. We also don’t review the bikes we don’t like in the first place
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Just for the sake of my curiosity, what bikes don't you like?
@@rotax636nut5 Most adventure bikes, most Suzuki’s, sports bikes, etc
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Me too!

This bike has just about everything I want..... Abs, cruise, bags, mag wheels, 5 gallon tank.... Now if it just wasn't so pricey
Cool. 👍🏼👍🏼
I have the 2018 SG and its a very under rated bike in the H-D line up. It works for around town and weekend touring. However, for the base price it should come with ride by wire, riding modes, cruise control, and front dual disk brakes. I dumped the faring and installed a Memphis Shades fairing that actually does keep the wind from buffeting. For 2021 it needs a major upgrade and the 114 engine to be competitive. If I were to buy again, I would go with the Heritage Classic or take a hard look at the BMW R18.
Yes good points and agreed 💯
Gene Clarke which Memphis screen did you buy?
@@overwatch65 Road Warrior with a 13 inch windscreen which allows me to see the road over the top. I have a silver SG and had the faring painted to match. All in all about $600 and 4 hours to install. But take a look on UA-cam for Laidlaw's Coast Glide SG build. Their bike is what H-D should produce. That is if Harley can get their act together.
You mentioned that it should come with cruise control, but it is standard with cruise control.
@@poepzor Yes, you're right. The one thing it does have is cruise. Nothing else.
Best Harley

Wow you guys are very prolific at the moment with your reviews. Still no sign of the Indian dealer loaning you a scout and scout bobber to review? I'm looking forward to those two reviews.
Thanks buddy! Yes we’ve got the Indians sorted now! Won’t be long 👊🏼
Good review, but you forgot to discuss the big attraction of this bike is the removable saddlebags and windscreen that give you a lot of options and different looks for the bike.
Thanks buddy. Yes indeed you’re right 👍🏼
2020 Slim next! The nostalgia of motorcycle war and R18 inspiration/benchmark
Yes hopefully we can get one soon.
i like it ;;; may get one ;;
Blimey, I didn’t know you’d make a Sport-Glide video- but now I’m informed!
Ahh right thanks 👊🏼
I like the details u tell. You can have an idea if u would buy a bike like this. A small tip about audio setup: u should have a better mic to give the feeling about how bike sounds like.
Thanks buddy. I guess you haven’t seen our recent videos . We’ve got the audio spot on
@@MrDarcy-OlMan ah okey great. I just started to dig around 107 milwaukee on ur channel. Maybe thats why 😉
I have one, like your reviews++, did you mention the removable batwing fairing and cruise control, maybe I missed that, the side stand is not good you have to be careful, the front brake lacks feel and should have a twin disc, having said that I love this bike
Greetings once more from Sydney, Oz....I considered the Sport Glide when the Dyna's were dumped & the transition to the "new" Softails began. Seems like a lifetime ago now, with everything that's happened.
I'm 5' 11" & the fit was reasonable but I just couldn't let my - one of the last of the breed - 2014 Dyna Street Bob Special Edition go.....& dive in to the - at the time, as yet unproven - Milwaukee 8.
I was well aware of the so-called benefits but the prices here were & remain rediculously high.
I also tend to prefer the last of a breed in preference to the first of a breed. I like the refinements & sorting out of any particular series....within it's design limitations of course....to the all-new, unproven setup, but I guess we'll see.
An interesting detail I noticed in the last years of the pre-Millwaukee Dyna vs Softails sales floor battle is to do with price. The Dyna's, especially the more premium models, like the Wide Glide, tended to cost the same or more than their Softail equivalents, say for instance, the old Softail Custom. Both were chopper-ish & competed directly with each other. The Dyna had the higher price....
But in the later years, Harley had moved all the Dyna's "down" the price scale & kept or moved the Softails "up" the price scale. And with the introduction of the Milwaukee, they're still there. I raise this stuff with younger folk....& they have no idea what I'm talking about.
Keep up the good work
Cheers
Nik 👍😊
Thank you Nikolas! Yes very interesting observations. Harley have definitely made some mistakes with their models and there are some obvious gaps as well as some filled gaps that weren't gaps!
Thought about buying one of these, like the way the panniers and fairing detach for the cruiser look, almost
two bikes in one, if it gets the 114 engine in 2021 I might be tempted.
Have you seen how cool the Heritage Classic looks with the screen and saddlebags off?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Yes it looks great, I like the bigger size of the Heritage, its a bit pricey for me though.
I love the low-down grunt on my 1670 cc MT-01, so I'd appreciate this bike.
I appreciate reverse on my trike, a Can-Am Spyder F3-S. I just wish I had it over here in Thailand.

This one's definitely on my bucket list! I was just wondering whether the dummy fuel cap fits on the other side. If so, it'd be a handy spare, in case of loss or theft.
Cool ! Yes unless they nick both lol
Great review... Seems a wee bit pricey but I guess they hold value better than most... I guess
Thanks very much! Yes maybe, bit certainly in the Uk Harleys seem to hold their value
I quite like the looks of this one. A but like a heritage classic without the long front fender, which to me is an improvement.
Maybe looks wise but practically the Heritage Classic mudguard (fender) is the best out there.
I like it....😊
Thanks Kevin 👍🏼
The one and only thing I hate about my 2020 Fat Boy is the side-stand. I wish someone would make an after-market stand.
William B. Yes totally. It’s the worst bit of design we’ve seen on anything
Buy a Dyna with a proper side-stand!
On a Daytona Bike week Harley Demo, 3 riders managed to drop their new Softail bikes when they thought the stand was down! That just never happened with the previous Dyna side-stands.
On the Dyna’s the side-stand was in line with the rear of the seat and easy to flick down with your foot.
Now the stand is up front and badly placed. I ever-so nearly dropped a Softail Fatbob when the stand didn’t click down. Things like this are off-putting.
If the bike goes over lifting 317kg back up isn’t an easy task for anyone. I’d not buy a New Softail until this ill-thought out design is remedied.

If you can't put your helmet in one of the bags, what's the point. In addition, the Sport Glide provides a much better ride with more response from the front end suspension. The Heritage is just to soft and mushy of a ride !!! What I am trying to say is do you want thrills or do you want just miles of nothingness. Thanks for the review but I think the Sport Glide is way better than the Heritage !!! Both bikes have suckey bags!!!
Thanks for your comments.
It’s all down to personal preference

I’d say Breakout or Heritage Classic 👍🏼👍🏼
@Mr Darcy & The Ol' Man Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it! What do you think about low rider st with forward controls?

@@impoppa9647 Awesome 👊🏼
@@impoppa9647 only thing i wonder about are those bags. With the opening in the sides. Shit tend to fall out or do you have those inner bags?
And i love switching windshields. Allot of aftermarket options?
@@TheNostorian So far I don't have any issues with stuff falling out. I also purchased the HD inner bags for the Sport Glide and they are handy to have. A clamp shell style bag does make it a bit harder to "fit" everything in verse a top load, but the style suites the bike. The windscreen is easy to change out. I went from the stock to a 15" and now back down to a 5.5" which I prefer over the larger screen. At 5.8 with a 29" inseam I find the bike very comfortable, but I am going to be adding 2" riser extensions to the stock bars in a couple weeks time.
After watching your review of the Fat Bob, I think this bike splits the difference between it and a Heritage Classic.
Hiya, I have watched all your videos and find them very useful and relevant, I am a new rider, passed my test this year, I have purchased a HD 883 Sportster ( that I love ) for my first bike, the question I have for you guys is : If you were to choose between a Fat Bob and a Sport Glide which would you choose ? thanks in advance and I look forward to your next review
Hi! And thanks buddy! Between the two 100% Fat Bob 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Cheers Dude, without the ugly pipes though... lol
@@craigedley9275 yes definitely!
Hi MrDarcy & the Ol'Man. How does this compare to ride against the Heritage Classic? Apart from the engine and looks is it overall a similar bike to ride? In OZ it's just over $6,000 cheaper than the HC which is a lot! I heard it's got a slightly shorter rear shock I wonder how much difference that makes.
it’s very different. The Heritage Classic handles better, corners better, has better quality parts, more versatility, absorbs the bumps better, looks cooler
Hi guys, discovered your channel today, instant sub, very good reviews, watched about 10 so far, i do have a question if that's ok, me and the mrs are in the market to upgrade from our current XSR900 to a cruiser, she hates the back after about 20min and i don't blame her.
I'm 6ft 3, I would say similar build to yourself Ol Man, we live in Aussie and want to do some longer rides with the mrs on the back (5ft 5 smaller build) but unsure on the bikes to try out, I'm not 100% set on the heritage look, that may change when i see it face to face, would this sport glide be suitable? I really like the idea that i can remove the bags and fairing quickly and take the bike o a solo fun run for myself when we are not 2 up, but then 2up i can put it back on and we can cruise around for small day trips, I guess a back rest and upgraded seat would probably be needed for longer 2 up rides?
We don't have a huge budget, this bike is at the top end, with the Heritage going that tad over, We have also considered a few other brands like Indian but Harley seems to have the best options and recently at least from my perspective they have added allot to the bikes for the money (USD forks, cruise, keyless etc)
Anyway thanks for the channel guys, keep up the great work
Thanks buddy and welcome aboard!
The Sport glide would be fine . It’s doesn’t have as much character as the Heritage Classic. Otherwise you can get leather type saddle bags for the other Softails. The Touring models may be better for two up but are expensive (unless second hand prices are good where you are) 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it, we ride 2 up maybe 20% of the time, the rest will be me solo riding with friends through mild to medium twisty roads, still casual but I was hoping to find something of a cross between capable solo machine and 2up suitable for day trips, 2nd hand market is hit and miss, there are a few larger older touring bikes in our budget but I feel I will loose the solo aspect going that route
The Sport Glide will scrape pegs all the time on the bends by the way.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan There is a 2019 fat bob low km near us with some mods done in budget, but I feel that seat is gonna be just as bad as my xsr900 haha, no idea if they even make a 2up touring style seat for it, I will need to visit my local dealership and have a good sit on a few bikes with the mrs, I may need to sacrifice some of my solo twisty runs for the extra comfort and cruise of a bike more suited to our day trips. Gotta keep the wife happy 😁
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thought i'd update you guys, Mrs and myself loved the Sport Glide, we got a test ride for half a day thanks to our local dealership and are so happy. now we just need good weather here in Aussie for some nice long rides

Kristopher Lopez The Fat Bob is better than this definitely

Ringer1982 Yes good idea. Hopefully we can get one
Fix the heat roasting your balls! Bigger fuel tank. Reduce price by at least a third. Better brakes. Do these and it's a great bike. I don't mind the weight at all, it's good for highway stability as the OlMan says.
The heat is already fixed. Have you ridden an M8?
@@rebel_ltz I have not.. but sounds like I need to if they fixed the heat. Do you like it?
The only Harley that again and again keeps catching my attention. Will I give in in the end and buy one?
Tbh it’s the worst Harley we’ve ridden. I’d seriously look at the other Harleys
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I like the looks.
Me, too. Especially with the fairing removed.
Probably my favourite Harley. I'd be happier at 5'8 with a taller screen, mids, and a second disc. Fuel gauge on the left fuel cap or is that an option.
There is a fuel gauge on the main display, plus the low fuel light comes on when you have approx 40 miles left.
Yes it’s a shame Harley didn’t think of something clever for the dummy cap
If one isn’t married to the classic cruiser style but wants a bike with bags then I’d look at a 1250 RT instead. You get more.

And another great bike, i like it. The proportions fit very well to bigger guys in my opinion. D'arcy (i prefer to call him "son") is 6'2" (same height like me) and the bike fits him perfectly. Furthermore, to me the sport glide is a kind of modern interpretation of bikes like the heritage classic etc, and should be in particular interesting for younger people.
And yes, the actual Version of side stands on the Softtails are really a big fuck up.....
By the way: Do you know the website "cycle-ergo.com" ? On this Website you can check your proportions on several bikes. Lots of bikes of nearly every manufacturer, enter your height / inseam and see what it looks like
Michi S. Thanks for your comments Michi. We have heard of the website; I’ll check it out. This bike didn’t feel particularly big but I guess it looks ok.
In terms of handling especially on corners how does it compare to the R18 ? I hesitate between both and I’m 192cm tall …
They are about the same in that respect. If anything the R18 is less likely to scrape pegs for a given speed and corner.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I thought the opposite cause the r18 has fatter tires …

This bike with a proper windshield is a very decent touring/highway bike. How do you justify the price diffetence between this bike and the Heritage Classic?
Joao André Ribeiro Esteves Yes agreed. It’s hard to say really with the price difference. It does seem a lot but it all adds up and the Heritage Classic is definitely considerably superior
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I totally agree, the Heritage is far superior in everything. I am about to purchase my first HD bike, Most of the time will be twisty roads and commute but I Ialso want a bike in which I can ride in the highway to explore other regions of the country (maybe 200-300kms of highway). I Have selected the sport glide or the Heritage Classic, but with the price difference is diffucult to justify. Do you Have experience in long rides On the highway with the Heritage classic? how is the wind protection? (I know ypu are tall, I am just 5''11)
Joao André Ribeiro Esteves Ok got you! The Heritage Classic is definitely THE BEST handling Softail. It’s great on the motorway and will sit at 70 at 2550 rpm. The screen and panniers are very useful but with them off it’s stunning! The screen offers very good wind protection and it doesn’t spoil visibility. The quality of the parts, paint and add ons is very good indeed. The only bike I’ve ridden do far that would make me think about changing it is the BmW R 18, but the cylinders sticking out so far and the little wobble it does aren’t worth a swap
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Yep I got it, Since Its a very large investment I dont want to make it just about money. Dont want to save money when buying the motorcycle and then be unhappy or spending a lot on aftermarket parts to fit it to my needs. HD makes it look like sport glide Its more sportier (inverted forks, so on), it was supposed to be very Good in handling. Just by curiosity, if the sport glide had the 114, biggger fairing and ape angers handlebars your oppinion would change? Anyway thanks, your videos are top notch!
Joao André Ribeiro Esteves Thanks buddy! No even with 114 and fairing it still wouldn’t be as good.
Damned by feint praise?
Maybe
Sure wish they had a water-cooled version.

The problem with putting a big screen on a bike like a Softail is that it can impact on how the bike rides. I have a Softail Deluxe and I bought the large screen (I believe there is a taller one) and it makes the bike feel dreadful as the wind hits the screen and effects the bike by buffeting. I've removed it and now I ride without one.
Graham Tricker that’s interesting because I love the screen on my Heritage Classic, it rides great with it on.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I wish I could say the same. It's absolutely dreadful with the screen fitted. I seem to recall reading that HD do make some deflector plates which can be fitted to the forks which is supposed to help deflect the airflow, so it doesn't interact with the screen. I'll have a look at your Heritage in the videos and see if its the same screen as mine. I know the lower part of the screen is blacked out on the Heritage model.
Graham Tricker Yes that’s curious. Let us know what you find.
Start putting the gauges on the bars and not on the tank,
They do on some models
I can't stand that whine on a stock 107. Change the exhaust day one lol
Yes it sounds like a 250 stock
These guys are a couple of kids playing with toys 😀
Thats one way of putting it.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I mean that in the best way possible, it's what we all want to be 😀
Looking to sell my 2022 Sport glide and buy a new Triumph scrambler 1200 XE I know they are completely different bikes but don’t want to make a bad choice either, Has anyone owned the triumph.
See our review ua-cam.com/video/-9nbFIULpOE/v-deo.html
Very nice review, thanks. WTH is Harley's deal though, get over it and water cool these damn bikes.
Maybe because there’s a huge market for old school tractor tech engines. People love m
We really love the minimalism of air cooling and it gives a better sound of the engine
From that perspective, I get it, and I agree. It somewhat limits the appeal, however, for those in warm climates who want to ride in the summer.
G I get you 👍🏼
Not a fan. Don't quite know what its supposed to be. Sounds terrible compared to conventional HDs Good review though 👍
it looks simultaneously too big and too small
It’s not our favourite HD to be honest.
How do you not know how to use a kickstand? And P.S.....a Harley kickstand is locked in place with the weight of the bike on it(won't let the bike roll forward off the stand)......rubbish huh?
Do me a favour chaps.......can you review an Indian Roadmaster and an Indian Chieftain please?? There's a dealer not far from you in Northants. I fancy an addition to the garage and my local H-D dealer are giving me the impression they don't give a sh*t, even after an email enquiry via H-D UK and a visit to them in person (because I had no answer to my email). Even after a visit and request for a quote a week ago, still no answer. Clearly H-D have enough money and do not require any more.
Yes we will definitely be reviewing the Indians soon! Which Harley dealership are you referring to?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan No names, but it's not your local one, further west from that. As you know, I bought my Heritage 114 from Sycamore and they couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
I look forward to your reviews on the Indians. I have been hearing rave reviews on their bikes cf. H-D. They will only gain traction given that HD are dropping the Sportsters. Also, at the moment, much better value for money than their Milwaukee neighbours.
Funny how an indifferent dealer can start to turn you off a brand you have waited years to buy from!
Simon Hickey ok that’s fine. 👍🏼
Harley is well over 100 years old. Why haven't they learned to make a proper sidestand??
I reckon they didn’t test it on rough ground. As soon as the tip hits something it stops sliding out and rocks onto the spring. Total rubbish!
And it's hard to reach and retract for those with short legs. Harley feels like a brand where every bike needs to be excused in one way or the other.
i tested one my 20 year old beema is better by a country mile
Progress ey! 👍🏼
HDs are a load of rubbish. They don't handle, are far too slow and are way to expensive 😉 And that's from someone who has never owned or ridden one. That's all meant to be ironic by the way. On a more serious note my mate has exactly this bike and the colour is great. He had also been thinking about buying a Goldwing and every time I see him on it I remind him that he made the correct decision in buying it. Its a quality made bike and he say's its the most comfortable bike he has ever ridden. Ok if you want to race along its not the bike for you , so go buy a Blade , but for most of us its fast enough.
We are also fortunate in living close to Sykes Eastbourne as they're a dealership that look after their customers and you get a free drink whether your on an HD or in my case a GS. Would I buy one definitely but not on the pension I have. Must go and buy that Lottery ticket now. Great video.
Thanks buddy! Lots of people that have never ridden Harleys think that lol.
The Goldwing is first class - have you seen our review of it?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan No I haven't I will check it out Ted
Why are Harvey's stand rubbish should be better buy now
Yes they definitely should
