I wore the original modular Shoei for almost 10 years. It was a fantastic helmet for its time.I know we're only supposed to wear them for 5 years, I didn't care the helmet was still sound and I didn't replace it until the inner liner started deteriorating really badly. I should probably pic up a Neotec 2 before they're gone. I've been running a lot of different helmets the past few years, Simpson, HJC, Arai, and I recently picked up one of the Scorpion modular ADV helmets. The Scorpion is heavy, loud (I always wear ear plugs and have contact ringing in my left ear and this helmet transfers some kind of harmonic that really makes my ears ring more, even with quality ear plugs in), and the peak keeps loosening while I ride. The Simpson Mod Bandit is actually a very well made and lightweight helmet for a modular, my one complaint being that the inner visor comes so close to my nose. In fact, it touches my nose if I don't have the helmet just right. Once I position it well then the issue is solved but it takes some wiggling around, and I don't have a large nose. The HJC and Arai aren't modular and both great helmets. I'd say the Arai is tops in construction with the Shoei with the Arai's only negative being the strap is too close to my neck. I had a Schuberth and the quality was good but it gave me a Klingon ridge on top of my shaved head, so I gave it away. lol
I've got 1 Shoei and 2 Schuberth helmts. You get what you pay for and if you travel extensively comfort and the bells and whistles are worth every penny. Foam ear plugs can soften the air noise- so wear what you can afford.!! SAFETY # 1
I have had the red/white/black combo for a year or two. The Sena SRL2 I put into it failed with no replacement parts easy to access. Still love the helmet though, wear it with the broken headset just to listen to the radio. Can't fault it. Great review FB!
Ive had my neotec 2 for a few years now. Still feels as solid as the day i got it, absolutelygreat helmet. I also use the intergrated srl2 comms system, that is a game changer when riding with mates that have comms as well. I got my helmet through Champion helmets in Netherlands. I saved about $400 from buying the same setup in Australia. Maybe a year or 2 I'll think about the neotec3 that judt came out.
Nice review Fuzzy! I'm thinking it is time for a Skid Lid upgrade. I really need one with better ventilation for Summer, and it is quiet too. I will look into it next time I go to the bike shop in the big town.
I had the Neotec 1 and it is a good helmet, and the Neotec 2 will be as good if not better, but I've switched to the Schuberth C4 pro both makes the best for modular helmets in my opinion.
I've tried many Shoei helmets over the years but have never found one that feels a good fit on my head! I've just bought a Caberg Riviera X4, really comfortable but I'm not sure if you get them in the US.
I noticed after publication of the video that I didn't mention safety features of this helmet at all. Though I ride with helmet for safety always, the main reasons I purchased this one was comfort & features. Love this one. Wahoo 🎉
Nice helmet.I have to get helmets that have great chin venting so glasses 👓 don't fog up in winter.I got a LS 2 Carbon Fiber Vector helmet cause also needed a lighter helmet cause get saw upper back after breaking discs between shoulder blades.I found the HJC helmets tight. All LS 2 helmets come with a free Pinlock.

You've had some interesting helmets there.
@@forgottenmotorcycles I’m still looking for a retro helmet that will fit me. I just returned the fourth helmet that I’ve tried this year.

These neotecs are real game. Changers

Good helmet is worth the money 🙂

Love to try the C4
I’m shopping for the the best price for the Neotec 2 and 3 right now. I’ve been wearing the 1 since 2016.
They're on sale everywhere. Try baxtercycle.com

Have not heard of those yet.
It's very comfortable, hopefully I can find one in red. What model is your HJC?
Love the neotech 2. My hjcs are i-90 and v31
@@forgottenmotorcycles Thanks!
I’m using an HJC i90 at the moment and was wondering which HJC helmet you’re using?
I've got two HJC i90 & an HJC V31. Very good helmets but just a bit snug on my rather large forehead. Wahoo!
I'm feeling compelled to get a nice helmet . helmet comfort/price has ultimately got me not wearing any helmet at all ten years gone

Sounds like a good helmet. I'll have to try one
That’s the helmet I use.
Great helmet 🙂
