Yeah i think that in a time when stress and mental health issues are so prevalent to create a game that is designed with the idea to make players mad and force them to give you money makes you the lowest type of human being possible. That in my mind is some criminal s*it and i hope people who created this game will never be healthy enough to enjoy the money they made in this manner.
@@valentinivanov7825 That wasnt the creators intention. Richard Garfield is the original creator. The game ended up here because Hasbro bout it out. The current state of the game is 100% percent the responsiblity of the current owner. If you played Magic during it's early years you would see that the game that it was, was soo much better than the game it is today.
@@shifty330 By the creators i meant the people behind Arena not MTG as a whole. The idea behind Magic is great but nowadays WotC are motivated by greed and nothing else.
100% positive it's rigged. It's the old carnival tactic of "give you wins to make you think you can do it, then take them away so you keep handing over more money". On any given day, my first few matches are picture perfect - I draw mana as needed, draw counters/removals, draw my bombs when I can use them, and opponent never has an answer. Once I complete my dailies, suddenly the same deck I was using can't find mana or floods out massively. Game after game. Suddenly my opponent has all four removals in their opening hand. Or they top deck the exact card they need to play on curve again and again, juts like I was doing a few games ago. Once you got your dailies, the algorithm shifts and puts you in the "to lose" category. Once you buy some new packs though... well now you're back baby! You're in the "to win" column" for a few more games.
What I love is playing a creature deck and I always get matched up against removal spam....play control, always up against control. The game has been ruined by overcentralizing the meta, anyway. Right now, all I play against are Prismari Dragons and Black/Red Treasures. The game sucks.
100% rigged, 100% rip off. I've been playing this game since 1993 and still have all of my original cards - MTGA I've seen more mana stalls and mana floods than I have ever seen in a real world deck. I also have some expertise in Probability, and I can tell you the card shuffling coding is ridiculously manipulated. No one likes being manipulated, particularly when you're paying good money for a b.s.service like MTGA. This whole experience with MTGA is enough to make me walk away from MTGA and paper Magic too. I have ZERO desire to enrichen pricks like Wizards of the Coast anymore.
This is really interesting. I recently got back into magic and decided to start from near scratch about 3 weeks ago. I was able to reach mythic division but once I got there they place you into % ranks. So I was a 95% mythic player that needed to win games in order to crack the numerical ranked mythic players. #1 #2 etc... But closing that 5% gap has been incredibly insane. I've dropped all the way down to 65% mythic. I haven't spent a dime in the game this time around. I am noticing game after game that my opponents are drawing 3 of a kinds. Sometimes even 4 of a kind before our lives have even dropped below 20!!! I started to record them and take not of these things. It's finally dawned on me that the game is rigged in such a way that they want to frustrate you into purchasing tokens and coins. I find this really disheartening and disappointing to the point where I am considering walking away from MTG for good. I don't know how many times I've seen the 'God hand' opening or how many times I've worked hard to kill a creature owning the board only to have the opponent top deck the very same creature from a zero card hand LOL. It is wild. The algorithm is so aggressive that it preys on competitive players. I would not be surprised if they face a lawsuit for this one day. Frustrating people on purpose can have serious impacts on people in REAL life. What happens if they frustrate a guy and send him over the edge? What happens when they link something like that to the algorithm that intentionally is designed to frustrate and stress players into spending? I think MTG and Wizards are playing a dangerous game and that they shouldn't tamper with people like this. People work hard to enjoy their time off and something like this just ruins the whole experience. Imagine how much wasted time gets poured into a game that is literally aiming to milk you of your cash by FORCING losses on you. It's insane.
My intro to this game was to play mono red and for my first 27 games without fail my opponents opening play was healer hawk followed with shitemate, 28th game I changed to mono green and guess what I didn't get paired against?
I've decided to play MTGA and spend NO money on it. My results? At least half of my loses are due to mana screw or flood or drawing only one color land in a two color deck. Many of my decks run 20-21 lands because I flood so much...and still, with 20% land, I flood way too often, many time drawing over 50%. I play paper Magic and have a good win rate. I've drafted on MTGO and done very well, but not MTGA. I believe there is built-in code to skew matches towards paying customers. I often feel I am just fodder for other players. Normal situation: Opening hand: 3 forests, 4 Red Spells. Draw a Mountain on turn 6 or 7 after my opponent mills my whole deck. Normal draft: Can't draft a single good rare, opponent plays rares on turn 1 and 2. I have nothing in my deck to turn the game around. (If I did, I'm certainly not going to draw it...or the mana needed to play it.) VERY unscientific, but my experiences on MTGA are far different from paper Magic and MTGO.
This is exactly how my mana/opening hand plays out when I'm not spending money on the game. If you do so happen to get a good opening hand, you either win the game quick, or the other player has an answer for every card you play out. You throw out 10 tokens against a person with no cards in hand, you better expect them to draw a remove all come their turn. You can pick up on the patterns. It's all about bringing in new players who will spend money on the game, and once they think they've got a good deck and stop spending money, they put the brakes on. Like you said, you stopped paying to win, and stopped winning.
@@MultiVictos There are some deck combinations that the algorithm picks up more then others and pre-simulates scenarios and match-ups where they get shut down. I find that match-making screws with custom deck builds less then tried and true meta decks because it has less intel on what shuts them down aside land screw that you can easily tell from your opening hand and mulligans.
Thank you all for your lovely comments. This frustration and disappointment feels a little more like justice when it is shared with and by others. Your support has given me the push I needed to quit MTGA and start looking for alternatives. I saw one guy trying to defend this system and that's fine. But a lot of us are not okay with it and we are allowed to express our opinions on it. If a "true" random shuffler gave me bad mana draws, I would shrug it off to bad luck and try again, but now I know for sure that some dumbass robot made it happen, and that weirdly feels like a personal attack. Unusual block of text, I know, but it is sincere. Cheers.
Hi...I want to take this a step further and show how pervasive the shuffler is in other ways. The system consistently hands me the wrong color of mana to play my spells. As an example, one deck has only a handful of plains, and around 25-30 swamps ( I play large decks), 4 Evolving Wilds, and 4 fabled passages. But most hands usually give me a white source, and a single EW or FP. I often draw another white source or FP/EW before I ever see a Swamp. And even when I do draw a swamp, the shuffler hands me mostly high cost cards so I am usually mana screwed. I would like to get a group of people together to play preset decks against each other and see how the shuffler manipulates the decks based on your opponents deck. I am almost certain they are are mana screwing people against aggro decks and such. In order to truly level charges against WOTC, we need to show exactly all the ways it's manipulating the decks. Personally I don't want to invest time in this, but I have spent tons of money and if I can't see to it that WOTC provides the product as it's advertised, I instead want to see them lose TONS of business. By showing how the "shuffler" isn't shuffling and decides who wins or loses, we could help rip a hole in WOTC's pocket and give them a new asshole in the same go. Fuck this is infuriating.
I would also like to know the absolute truth of this, scam or not. Here is what I know and have heard so far: The Shuffler is not random; We know this as 100% fact and it is even confirmed by WotC. They state that the Shuffler selects "better" cards/hands, but this logic is horribly flawed. It does not fix flood/screw. People (rightly) feel as if their experience and outcome has been interfered with. The Shuffler's "judgement" has been proven to be objectively flawed or biased in many recorded examples (videos/gameplay). The Shuffler decides who wins; All we have on this is purely anecdotal evidence which does not hold up in court. Obviously and objectively the very fact that the Shuffler "decides best" at all is going to effect who wins (draw the lethal card or not the lethal card? > Determine winner). I tried to look up deck winrates in paper tournaments so that I could compare the difference to the same decks' winrates in Arena, but I could not find that information, I know it could highlight areas of the Shufflers' bias. The Shuffler gives wins to people who spend money; We have no evidence of this. Someone would have to splash the cash and log the data. This would likely have to take place over multiple accounts for thousands of games with many different decks in order to get a clear line on the graph. This could be done with a Discord group with many contributors. Perhaps this could be done with just one terrible deck and several thousand games, maybe two accounts playing the same terrible deck but one is a massive spender and the other is skint. I'm not a massive fan of conjecture. So until someone has the solid proof, all we can do is express our free will and free speech. Thank you all for supporting each other.
If you want to feel good about your decision to quit, which you probably already do, use a hypergeometric calculator to calculate the probability of the manipulated land draws that occur in consecutive hands. You'll see that what we experience when the MTGA is attempting to get us to spend more money is so statistically improbable that you could play Magic all day everyday for 1,000 lifetimes and you would never see the 'random' consecutive hands that we see repeatedly. For me it was when I had over 85% lands in my last 20 cards for three consecutive matches in limited. Then it happened in another draft. Then another. The statistical probability was in the quadrillions. It would never happen, but it does over and over and over in MTGA. Right up until you spend money.
Thank you for this. I played MTG back in high school and college and wanted to get back into it after about 20 years. I went to my local game store and was told I should start with MTG arena. I started off really enjoying myself but after about a week of play something just felt off. I was being matched against players and decks I had no possible of beating after about 10 wins in a full day. I was trying to stick with one deck and one play style to learn the mechanics but as I say after about 10 wins I had no chance unless I switch decks. It’s has been extremely frustrating and has turned me off of the game in general. I am glad I am not the only one that feels like there is something wrong here. Again, thank you for this.
@@ApeXxWar it does more than this. I've played against decks in Bo1 that mainboarded flying hate when I drafted a rare flyer. No one at Mythic rank mainboards flying hate in Bo1.
I had the exact same experience. They lure you in with easy opponents, some of whom I suspect might even be bots, later you get matched with impossible matches. Makes you feel like your cards are shit, so you whip out your wallet.
We should look into suing them. People pay money expecting a fair game. Hearthstone and Duel Links is the same exact way. Even poker apps. So tired of this shit.
Blizzard admitted they do something very similar in Hearthstone, they even had a special term for it that currently escapes me. However, in Hearthstone it's even worse because if you put in ANY sort of card to tech against a specific kind of deck you want to beat you won't see ANY of that kind of deck, essentially wasting a card slot.
My pc broke and mtg for mobile is shit so i tried fartstone, Blizzard don' half like bots as all their games are openly flooded with them and they don't give a shit. Everything shit happening on arena also happens in fartsone only at even lower levels of bullshit, shame as 2 great games are being ruined to keep some socially inept people happy, people that seem happy to spend spend spend.
I started noticing this when I started playing mtga with buddies a few days ago. I went ahead and modified my keep the peace starter deck and for some reason "exalted priest" i think the card is called was comming up way more often than it should have been, now, I don't claim to be some 900IQ mathematician but drawing into 2 priest's multible games&mulligans in a row is highly improbable, same with drawing multible plains in a row (of wich i play only around 20 (22 with castle of whatever it's name is again)) idk what anyone says, this shit is rigged. this is not how a random number generator is supposed to work.
Im struggling with this very issue myself..was in platinum 1, one win away from going to diamond 4, all a sudden every match no matter the deck I played, always had a counter deck ready to beat me. They would get everything litterally every turn while I struggled to even get a 3rd land out my deck to play a spell etc. I usually run 23 to 25 lands. I lost every single game all the way back to plat 4..but in wizards eyes it all works as "INTENDED"
Even if you ignore the land factor in this, it literally says the mulligand hand will be returned to the bottom of the deck and the dude is drawing the same unique card draw after draw when it should be around 53 cards away. 🤔

@@undead_inside8634 I'm ready to give it up myself. My win rate is like 5%. I play and loose up to 20 games in a row. WTF?? What ever I build it matches me up with a deck that counters it. I paid them money a year ago and it's getting worse and worse most likely because I'm not paying. It's very easy to code multiple algorithms. One for paying customers and one for non. It's a mindless game. I'm going to cash in my 200,000 gold and see what changes. Even mathematicians say it's rigged. Thanks for sharing this.
It has nothing to do with that specific land. Do this test again with 50% Lands or even 100%. Then you should see it. It's just that the system tries to prefer a hand with a number of lands near the land/non-land ratio of the deck.
I just made this video my default webpage and new tab page just to remind me how rigged MTG is until i break this habbit. Thank you for uploading this.
I played this game off and on for the first year of its release. I had hoped in time they would have listened to players and turned it into the game all of us paper players know and love, a game of skill with slight variance due to the nature of shuffling cards. It's sad to see that it's going further in the opposite direction with randomness and weighted matchmaking. Mtg online for all its faults had it right, it was a lobby game where you would talk to people or click on names and invite them to play. Matchmaking through an algorithm just ensures wotc makes as much money as possible.
Duxe your right i just deleted that garbage. Playing a 60 card deck with 30 lands. Could not pull more than 2 lands. Or I would pull all lands. The games are predetermined. You either win or lose. No skill involved.
Please email me at joryrferrell@gmail.com with the subject line "MTG Shuffle Test". I want to get a group together to play matches with preset deck lists and show the manipulation. If you aren't interested, please ask your friends if they are. Anyone spamming my email is free to do so...it's my public email so it's expected.
Dude exactly I kept thinking I had too few lands with 24 of them. I added some evolving wilds then couldn’t get them in a ton of games back to back. Removed some lands then get evolving wilds early on consistently.
I had a 20 land deck, 64 cards. Flipped/drew 9 lands straight. I built the same deck in paper. For the most part it was started. But one game I was able get 5 lands. One time…once.
How does that make any sense 😂😂😂 maybe your deck just sucks or you don't know how to pilot it. How can everyone be matched with decks they're weak too 😂😂😂
This is hand smoothing in best of one. The game checks percentages of cqrd types and skews your starting hand to give you better odds of your hand representing the card types by percentage in your deck. Because your deck is less than 2% land the smoother won't give it to you except about 2% of the time. Do this in best of 3 where there is no hand smoother and you will see closer to the 11% that is real.
@@undead_inside8634 Just curious if you've tested this guys theory. Is there no smoother in best of three? I thought I seen an article about this. I noticed the smoother after about a dozen or so games. Immediately researched and found out about the smoothing program. I don't think it's right but at the same time it doesn't always cause a problem, if you've created, what is considered a normal deck. Yeah a deck with 1 or 2 lands or vise versa and yeah I'm sure its noticeable as hell. I just don't think it's a plot from wizards to fuck people over. How could the smoother be of any value to the company? It would undeniably run people away from the game and do the opposite of being a value. I also wondered about what other kinds of manipulation is behind the scenes. I've played a few hands that would have been nearly impossible to have been random. I almost drew out ALL of the lands I had out of a 70-80 card deck with only 25 lands in the entire deck. I was really pissed off and fed up with the game at that point.
@@SonictheBedHog I agree I didn't really see much difference. I don't think it's that bad to do the smoothing if it's too improve the quality of the game. They should definitely let it be known to everyone before playing or somewhere in the setting and also allow us to disable it or at least play in a format that it isn't enabled. I still play but it's always in the back of my head. Like fuck I just played 5 games and only see 2 lands with a deck that is 75/30(Total deck/total lands) that's nearly half lands lol
As a whale in the game I can tell you I can't count how many time my opponents have the perfect answer back to back in deck that shouldn't be able to do that its so aggravating feeling like I'm playing against some fucking anime character and all I top deck is land -_____- it really feel sometime the game wants you to lost sometimes
I've seen a bunch of talks about how to get as much money as possible from whales. Wouldn't surprise me if the decks weren't truly shuffled but orderd in specific ways.
this shit is unreal how rigged it is 1 win away from diamond and every match i get land fucked and they have every single card they could possibly need.
I can see what the opponent has on the hand on the first hand draw, if i have alot of creatures on hand i know the opponent is stacked with removals, Ive had 5 matches and the opponent draws whats he need just to win when hes low on life everytime, its fucking stupid that its silly, I said out low that he prob have something that deals 4 damage and something that deals 3 damage with two cards on hand after he drew the 2nd car, and boom he had a bane fire and a lightning bolt, if he did not have that he would have lost. This happened 5 times in a row, and everytime i said look now when he draws a remove or whatever he needs to win, either its an enchantment remover, which not so many use or whatever they draw it.
My favourite part is how the WotC bootlickers will, in the same sentence, claim that the shuffler is completely random, but also that it's adjusting them based on land draws. People are prone to doublethink already; add the fact that the vast majority don't even know differential calculus, let alone how probability theory works, and things get _truly_ depressing.
When I first started I felt like the Shuffler was pretty fair and that I got to go first about 50% of the time and then I noticed that it went down to i only went first maybe two out of 10 games and I kept getting land screwed or land flooded I then bought some gems and suddenly I was going first about 50% of the time and getting good draws and then over the course of a few months I noticed once again I would go first maybe one out of 10 games and I realize that you if you pay they give you good draws and they let you go first it’s rigged it sucks why can’t they just make it random
Thank you for the video. As far as the developers making such a disgraceful shuffler that discredits the integrity of the game, they should be ashamed of themselves.
I've been screwed over so hard by this game recently so searched is it rigged and holy shit... Look at the evidence. It's sick... I won't spend another penny.
Someone already said it better than I could: "100% positive it's rigged. I play 2 decks on arena right now, one is a land heavy combo deck, where I literally get stuck on 5 out of 6 lands needed for combo for 5+ tunrs with an almost half land deck, and my other deck is mono green ramp that only has 20 lands to maximize drawing creatures, and I manage to draw 4+ lands consistently in my opening hands
I know this is a few years later but I think the best way to show this would be to have 1 - 4 of and see how many times you get multiple copies of that same card and also have 4 normal lands and 4 tapped lands and see that the tapped lands will pop up far more often than the normal land
The game forces you to play decks that will easily defeat your deck. You're playing creature decks? All you'll play is removal/counter decks. You're playing blue control decks? You only play against mono red agro decks.
Yeah I always get mana flooded or get mana screwed hard to get the perfect land ratio almost never happens I don't play arena anymore outside of commander which I rarely do
I believe that in best of one (ranked?) games against other players, on your opening 7 card hand, the game draws you two hands, and chooses the hand with a land % closest to the land % in your deck. Supposedly after mulliganing, this effect goes away. Maybe the game does this for all hands, including mulligans when you play against the bot? It seems like that would be a possible explanation, as the deck would always choose the hand with no lands (unless both hands happened to have the land in them).
Lol it's not even any kind of controversy that it's rigged anymore, I can change the entire meta instantly by changing decks. Arena isn't magic, it's a slot machine designed to keep you clicking.
funny this video comes up i recently uninstalled this game cuz i just felt like mtg was so fucking rigged. tell me how in a 4 color 26 land ramp deck i cant seem to draw a green land in an opening hand maybe like once every 4 games BUT IN A 22 land mono deck i FLOOD EVERY FUCKING TIME
I think the game literally shuffles land and non-land in clumps so that might be why it's not giving you the land. I've noticed this because I think alot of the code for the shuffler came from the Duels of the Planeswalkers games as they tended to clump lands and non-lands in the same manner. That's my theory anyway.
I had to grab these numbers again because the last person I quoted them to deleted their comment, whey. stattrek.com/online-calculator/hypergeometric.aspx The probability of getting 1 land in a 7 card hand from a 60 card deck with one land is 0.116666667 or 11.67% chance online-calculator.info/probability-calculator/ The probability of not getting a land in any mulligan over 72 mulligans (my video) is 0.00013212121895 or 0.01% chance
The rig goes much further then we could ever imagine. I played about 250 games this season I’m in mythic rank. The scenario where I go turn 1 soul warden turn two Trelasarra Turn three Draw a second Trelasarra cast CoCo into 2 more Trelasarra has happen so often to me that I called it was gonna happen then had someone watch my game as it happened. Having 4 Trelasarra in the top 16 cards has a .373% chance of happening. Or about 1/300 chance. It’s happened At least 5-6 times in 250 games which just straight defies all logic.
Just realized games rigged beyond belief. Made a budget mono red aggro deck on standard. Diamond tier four first ten games I won seven. Five of those were in a row. The right cards in opening hands. Top decking everything I needed. It's at like a 20% win rate as of game 31. No doubt it's to urge you to buy more packs to get rares. Etc.
I believe the shuffler is fine only because there is no shuffler at all... the game picks up cards conveniently to make you win or loose and the same goes to your opponent. And i think that's based on the win/loss ration from each part and or also to make you stay in the game the more time as they can make you stay, making a quest or rank up hard to achieve and eventually leading you to get so angry that you will buy or leave... I play since it was released and i never spent a penie on MTGA, i rank up to mythic every month for like 7/8 months straight and believe me it's not easy since the game is scripted to make you loose or win acording to their desire... i spend like over 10 hours a day on it (yes pls don't judge me) but like they say "the more you play it the more you realise how rigged the system is". By my experience there seems to be a kind of pattern, because it happens every time in every individual level of each rank... i start a level at 0, i win 2 games in a row then on the third one i loose or i win and then on the fourth i loose comming back to the seccond point on that level... this happens like 2 to 3 times in a row until i reach the last point before level up on that rank and then i loose a couple of games in a row and i come back to the first step again and then level up... this happens a couple of times before i can actually rank up and then starts all over again until the next rank, EVERY SINGLE TIME!... I can predict almosth a full match based on what my opponents play in the first 2/3 turns(first because mosth of the decks i face are meta internet gathered decks , and i check these out almosth everyday and seccond because it happens so frequently that it's impossible to ignore even if you wan't.). No matter what deck you use or what ever you doo every deck has it's own couple of selected types of decks that you will face the mosth specially when you loose... Have you guys ever opened a booster where the rare/mythic card you get it's the same that killed you in the previous match? Because i lost count of how many times that happened to me in my gameplay life time. I have folders full of screenshots with specific names so i can compare to other ingame "events"... 3 days ago i was silver level 4 and i match up agains't a specific guy that i matched up some times already... i won 1 or 2 matches agains't him and he won a couple agains't me too... yesterday i ranked up to mythic and guess who i found in mythic level? Yeah that same guy... He destroyed me and i only had 2 lands the whole match... and then i realise that every match he comes with a different pet, avatar, deck and card back (he also has random numbers in his name) wich makes me think he could be a bot... this one i will give a special attention the next time i face him again... anyway i wish i could make this comment as small as i could but i'm not even scratching the surface on this topic and i'm sorry for the testament here. Don't give them your money and pls spread the word about this scam even if you are wrong (wich i doubt) we have the right to doubt and complain until they prove that we are wrong wich they will never doo because they can't show what they don't have!
The rigged mana and catd draw system is so rigged that's why Mono Red with 13 mountains is tier 1 and my golgari insidious roots deck has a 60/65% win ratio because i only need 2 lands and almost all my deck surveils so you can't mana flood a deck with 16 lands and that surveils like 4 times per turn
If you spend a lot of money the algorithm will ease the game . I have played opponents that had zero cards in hand but the Algo keeps top decking my opponents with major win conditions . and I also I keep getting mana flooded with 17 lands
I do not for my lIfe understand why MTGA needs to couple a more than dodgy "Draw mechanism" with an obviously flawed shuffler . I have only played ~300 Games so far, but the absolute precision with which the System hits me emotionally to try and make me think "just get a few better Cards" is frightening...all the while I know its not the Cards . The Deck I cobbled together ( only a handfull of rares and Mythics ) routinely beats absolutely stacked Decks . All I need is a mostly close to expected Landdraw distribution at start, an then a somewhat close to expected mix of land and other spell draws in the next 3,4 - 6 draws . But...the Game prides itself in leaving me on 2 Lands after 2 Mulligans several games in a row ( fk the "better hand saga) , just not giving me a Land for 3, 4 turns in a row (also on other occasions no Land or landdrawing card for 6,7 in a row, or JUST giving me Lands for 6 - 10 turns in a row...) when that ONE Land would be exactly what I need to turn the Game ( I have 26 Lands/landdrawing cards in my Deck...), giving my opponent absolutely precisely what they need several draws in a row when drawing dead, keeping my winrate at an amazingly exact 49-51% . It lead me to one pip before ranking up just to tank me down 4th Rank of my echelon, then makes me go up again as if I was cakewalking, as soon as I am in the highest tier and get to within 1,2 pips of ranking up, it starts adjusting my winrate again . I know some of what I experience(d) is totally within the realm of probaility, but the precision and frequency of those occurences are NOT . Its amazing . Its frightening . Worst of all, the feeling of fighting the gamerigging software AND the opponent very much takes a lot of fun out of the Game, and more often than not leads to disappointment and frustration . I am going to smart up, get better at Deckbuilding and I am going to beat the machine (its obviously possible ) . But honestly, I hope the people who think it ok to play with people's emotions in such sinister ways go and burn in hell .
I know one thing, in Yu-Gi-Oh I would have drawn at least 1 of my limited to 1 cards like Monster Reborn, Instant Fusion, Foolish Burial, and my Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon first turn or in a few turns at least 4 or 5 times out of 10 duels with my 60 card deck, both in paper and online Yu-Gi-Oh Dueling Nexus/Duelbook. Same with Hearthstone I am guaranteed to get a key card first turn or in the first few turns at least half out of 10 matches. It's like the cards in both Yu-Gi-Oh and Hearth know I like them and have to say hello sometimes, I swear
I begun to add 26 lands to my deck. Using 24 lands, I almost always have only 2 lands when starting the game. If I am second, it's like 50/50 between 2 or 3 lands. When I get 3 lands, There almost always a fable passage. 90% of the time when the game ends, I have less lands than the other guy. I am mana short every 4-5 games. My opponents are mana short like every 50 games. 80% of people I play get a perfect mana ramp, dropping a land 7-8 turns in a row (when the game is long enough) Oh, I also start game like 33% of the time. I am tired to be second 5-6 times in row. Stopped to put money in that game at theros... I guess it doesn't help with their algos...
@@alexcameron2880 The land draw has improved since that time. But I am always amazed how many time I am mana short compare to my opponents. Still, it's less worst than it was. They still didn't get one cent from me since Theros.
Just getting last week back to arena i want to give them another chance. In paper mtg i play witherbloom tokens, so i made the same deck at arena because its cheap. And the first match was driving me crazy. I had 22 lands. Start hand, 2 lands. After 6 turns, 6 land on the field, 4 on my hand. Thanks for nothing. So i take 2 lands out of the deck. Next match, literally the same shit. I was about to delete arena right after the second match. But i played another one. Now, start hand 2 lands after 7 turns i gave up because i didnt draw a land anymore. I was frustratet. Then i played with 21 lands. The mana flow was okey but, i draw only the same cards. 2 plumb, 2 dina, 2 witches and so on. After 7 matches i quit, deletet this garbage and leave it alone. So my statement: FUCK ARENA!
I think everyone should just go against everyone if your deck sucks and is garbage you don’t win it’s that simple just because I’m playing a control deck doesn’t mean I should be getting paired again aggro because that’s clearly a hard match to play against when playing control it’s so rigged its unbelievable I made it to mythic last season and I didn’t change my deck or anything but I can’t get out of plat. And it’s not like there’s new decks that are countering me I’m playing against the same decks but I either get mana screwed when I know I have enough lands because on paper I play the same deck and never am screwed that’s another thing depending on the how many lands you have it will prioritize an amount for you to ge Tim your starting hand I don’t think there should be anything that affect shuffling or matchmaking it’s like cheaters at LGS’s but instead wizards is doing it for other people.
You know, some cards seem to appear in the exact same spots almost every time. Like Azusa or adamant will or fungal plot. Suspicious as hell. That is so pathetic. Thank you for opening my eyes.
@@Exoticeffect I think this is just the game making the hand more neat and organised with the same logic that it uses in the deck builder. WUBRG (to Multicolour to Colourless) low to high cost etc.
I think chance of getting a given card in a deck of 60, if you mulligan all the way to 1, card is about 47% (if you had 4 copies of the card, it'd be different...like 60%?...this is what Tibalt's Trickery jank relies on, i think)
Yeah, that and Thassa's Oracle jank. The maths for probability isn't a simple matter though. I've tried to learn it several times and I can't grasp it. Massive respect to anyone who can put reliable numbers on this shit.
@@randallmarshall6068 I believe there are bots and i have more to tell about those... i also believe there is no deck for these bots and they only pick up from the game cards list to counter whatever there is to counter and not the actual deck because for these bots there is no deck at all but the full data base cards list from where they pick the cards conveniently to the situation... and also that there is no shuffler at all nor deck card distribution, but a card that the game picks up from your deck choosen based on the win/losses you have or your opponent has... all the cards are in the data base and these things can be coded to happen as "triggers". But still about the bots... if they have bots in some different modes why not in ranked matches right?
now in the Yugioh Master Duel game the draws are the same now, we draw our one Ultra Rare card much more often then any other card in the deck, even if we run 3 of them, ik it's not magic but this is gonna be Master Duel in a year when we find out the hands are rigged
This game is pure fraud. I win 1 game out of 10 or even less in the sandbox. I don't play ranked or drafts as this is frustrating as you don't have a chance. "Opponents" always have the perfect draw without Mulligan. Within the first 6-7 rounds they always have lands or ramp while I often leave the match when I do not get lands after 3-4 draws because there's no way to compensate. Moreover, "opponents" always have the best symbiosis between creatures and instants while I fail completely with mono or dual color decks. Lately, it took me 17 matches to be on the play, so why is it not 50:50 to be first or not, that's unfair. I often play against decks with 250 cards and multi-color - they win as they draw perfectly while I with mono color don't get anything together. Sometimes it feels I play against bots or computer players because they are so fast in putting cards out leaving me completely stunned. I just wonder why Wizards wants this to happen?! It kills the joy playing Magic and they will never ever see a penny from me.
I can't prove that they're using bots, but this is something which is generally done in multiplayer games, although no developer wants to be public about it. Players leave, if they can't get a match, so if there aren't enough matches, you get bots as opponents with names churned out from some leetspeak generator.
Bot theories coming out as well, haha. I've 100% played against like one or two bots, they were not only fast but also very stupid. Double-clicking instead of dragging is way faster btw, combine that with meta decks who just do the same thing every time and you might be able to rule out a few potential bots. They exist but I have no hunches or proof that WotC employ them themselves.
I made it to mythic on this stuopid rigged online version. I have 6 discard cards in my deck. I either get them when my opponent is rushing me and Literally top decks their way to victory for 15 straight turns.Just happned, I drew 4 of them in a row with an opponent at zero cards. It was turn 4. Or I don't find them at all when they have control decks. It's fucking insane how I'm losing most games because my opponent top decks for god honest 15 turns in a row. I don't think that's a fun way to play the fucking game by turn 4. And I don't think They should be awarding fucking retarded gameplay. And they also shouldn't give you the exact opposite of the cards you need half the time, they made it so blatantly obvious what a fucking joke of a game. not worth the time. Never spent a dime, NEVER would.
Thank u for this noticed I get the same cards and when ever I change my hand the people I play have my counters... I'm glad I didn't pay any money to this rigged game I knew it wasn't random... supercell is the biggest thief that started this pay to win b.s. everyone should talk about their garbage
I write code and it's very easy to manipulate and/or set up the LLOC into a mirrored kernel. One for paying customers and one for non paying players. It's rigged.
They should get investigated and sued. I did my own research and the whole game is rigged and its manipulated. I am surprised it is legal. I quit years ago and never gave them another penny.
I played a ugin deck mana ramp with energy and got put against somebody running blood moon wtf plays blood moon?? I play azurius aura mana curve of 1.5 and i get ugin ramp or extinction agenda it's just BS
When I play mill, I am almost always matched against other mill, decks with 80 or more cards, decks that use graveyard, decks that use the clockwork. Matchmaking takes long. When I play red aggro, guess what? I mostly matched against other red aggros! Matchmaking is fast. There's something going on with the matchmaking and the suffler.
What's worst is the deck opening. That's how they make the big money. I'm playing mostly black decks and never blue. What rares and mythics do you think I get? Blue... of course. Just opened 15 alchemy, 9 blue, 4 white, 1 green and 1 red. I'm not playing too much white as you can see :) (also it seems to matter what decks I have that are not completely crafted, it never gives me the cards I'm missing from them)
I've started recording my games to upload to UA-cam as proof of what's going on. In the past few days I've called top deck draws accurately over twenty times on camera. In twenty years of magic I don't think I've ever accurately called a top deck draw. In that time I also recorded 40 straight games that had a pair of duplicate spells drawn by turn 4. Their algorithm is intended to keep everyone as close to fifty percent win ratio, because that way new players will keep spending money on arena and not on something else like they would if they kept getting beaten by skilled players. It's so easy once you start paying attention to see the patterns. Once new players stop spending money, they will shut the game down, mark my words, and the thousands of dollars people have spent on digital cards will be lost in the aether.
this game is definately rigged, 4 matches in a row, i just played against players who all suddenly have the same 4 cards come out each game in a row with absolutely every answer to anything u play. u can play mindless things at wrong times and they still have an answer. basically during these matches u might as well just sit back and boost all their creatures since nothing you play for yourself can be played without being countered, or taken out before it can stick around for one turn.
what i dont get is that why do they rig mana to have a less chance to show on your opening hand. Should it not be the opposite for them to make a more fair game?
Came here to say its 100% rigged the same way duels of the plainswalker was. Its all trying to appear as magic like as possible without giving away its still a mobile free to play game.
DO NOT BUY INTO MTGA!!!!!! BOYCOTT HASBRO!!! BOYCOTT WIZARDS!!!
@@valentinivanov7825 You are 100% correct. I misunderstood your original comment.
100%
LOL that last line hahahahaha its so true. Those new packs seem to buy you 'life' in the win column.
I hop on every few months for the past few years. Can 100% sadly agree with this and it hasn't seemed to change
4 years had passed and it's still works like that, already tested lol
What I love is playing a creature deck and I always get matched up against removal spam....play control, always up against control. The game has been ruined by overcentralizing the meta, anyway. Right now, all I play against are Prismari Dragons and Black/Red Treasures. The game sucks.
But if you play paper mtg in ranked standard you play against just a few of the same decks also. It's how standard always is
@@Jeremy9697 Precisely why I quit playing. I'm not coming back to the game.
@@alexcameron2880 well that sucks for you. Magic is one of the best card games. That's why you just play commander and play with a friend group
@@Jeremy9697 I disagree. To each their own. I'm not getting sucked into this game any longer. Enjoy it, it's not for me.
@@Jeremy9697 The difference is when you play paper magic, you don't get rotating decks that completely shut down your deck.
It's insane.
i challenged the company on this. And I got my account terminated. So yes, it's true.
@@porfiriocantu1661 and how did u challenge them?
Legend has it, he's stilll looking for that land
My intro to this game was to play mono red and for my first 27 games without fail my opponents opening play was healer hawk followed with shitemate, 28th game I changed to mono green and guess what I didn't get paired against?
Whenever I vs that deck they have soul warden into multiple pridemates every single time. It's insane.
(If I did, I'm certainly not going to draw it...or the mana needed to play it.)
VERY unscientific, but my experiences on MTGA are far different from paper Magic and MTGO.
Here is what I know and have heard so far:
The Shuffler is not random;
We know this as 100% fact and it is even confirmed by WotC.
The Shuffler decides who wins;
All we have on this is purely anecdotal evidence which does not hold up in court.
The Shuffler gives wins to people who spend money;
We have no evidence of this.
@@undead_inside8634 You only need one whale-account who cooperates to proove it
If you want to feel good about your decision to quit, which you probably already do, use a hypergeometric calculator to calculate the probability of the manipulated land draws that occur in consecutive hands.
Even mobsters in Vegas are like "shiiet that's dirty business". Disgusting company, disgusting people in the company. Yuck.
The shuffler is manipulated. Been playing free for 4 years, what they do is criminal.
The mindblown part is when someone have 100 card decks and have answer to my 60 deck each time. SO weird 100 card deck got all answers LOL
The match system works by selecting other players similar to ur colored deck
@@ApeXxWar it does more than this. I've played against decks in Bo1 that mainboarded flying hate when I drafted a rare flyer. No one at Mythic rank mainboards flying hate in Bo1.

Same boat bro , love the game but mtga is so wack
We should look into suing them. People pay money expecting a fair game. Hearthstone and Duel Links is the same exact way. Even poker apps. So tired of this shit.

Bob Cat yeah I got to mythic once and considered my job done and stopped playing
I lost every single game all the way back to plat 4..but in wizards eyes it all works as "INTENDED"

and see what changes.
@@raiseer So it's not random then. Your big argument for why it's not biased is that it's not random. Take a moment to think about that.
I just made this video my default webpage and new tab page just to remind me how rigged MTG is until i break this habbit. Thank you for uploading this.
Hahahaaa! Nice.
I did this myself. 1 land deck of 60 cards. 140 hands, no land. But tracked another random card, and saw it 6 times in 70 hands, which is about right.
Dislikes are at 46 as of 11/03/23.
This is what happense, then you think the solution would be to make a deck with 38-40% land, get ready to draw 5 lands in a row around turn 4-5.
I feel like MTGA puts you against a player that your deck is really weak too.
Ahh. Now that's quite insightful. Cheers.
I dont know. I think the best of 3 are rigged just as hard. I tried playing best of 3, never seen so many no mana hands in my life.
In my case, I put a single colorless land, and I happen to have it in my hand all the time, even with mulligans, ruining me with a color screw.
this shit is unreal how rigged it is 1 win away from diamond and every match i get land fucked and they have every single card they could possibly need.
So this is why you can't rate mtga on the phone
Yes.
True AF, I'm always stuck on 2 land, never get 2 sprite dragons [4 in deck]
The only way to deal with the algorithm [when its argery at you] is scry
That's rigged too. I have had many games where I scry a card away only to
to draw it right back.
@@JohnDoe-zb7dz That, or scry nothing but land over and over.
@@JohnDoe-zb7dz Or mulligan a card from the starting hand and draw the same card on your 1st turn upkeep.
I played Magic irl from 2012 to 2015 loved it, played MTG Arena online for about a week now during Covid & I hate it so much.
Been playing this for a month or so now, I can't believe how many times I am mana screwed or flooded, but mostly screwed, with 25 land decks...
Literally what I did just now after a week of playing, glad i didnt spend any irl money on the game
After Theros, with all the rigging and the terrible standard, I vowed to never put money again in that game.
Someone already said it better than I could: "100% positive it's rigged. You're in the "to win" column" for a few more games."
Shout out to our boi @cleverreally.
I play 2 decks on arena right now, one is a land heavy combo deck, where I literally get stuck on 5 out of 6 lands needed for combo for 5+ tunrs with an almost half land deck, and my other deck is mono green ramp that only has 20 lands to maximize drawing creatures, and I manage to draw 4+ lands consistently in my opening hands
yes bro thts exact thing happening to me tht shit shit made me rage so bad
I know this is a few years later but I think the best way to show this would be to have 1 - 4 of and see how many times you get multiple copies of that same card and also have 4 normal lands and 4 tapped lands and see that the tapped lands will pop up far more often than the normal land
The game forces you to play decks that will easily defeat your deck. You're playing creature decks? All you'll play is removal/counter decks. You're playing blue control decks? You only play against mono red agro decks.
Yeah I always get mana flooded or get mana screwed hard to get the perfect land ratio almost never happens I don't play arena anymore outside of commander which I rarely do
I kept getting mana flooded with 17 Lands .
Not to mention that they rig the card draws for those who spend more money get better starting hands.
Yeah I hear that's how Bo1 works. You might be right, idk
AKA not random
Lol it's not even any kind of controversy that it's rigged anymore, I can change the entire meta instantly by changing decks. Arena isn't magic, it's a slot machine designed to keep you clicking.
funny this video comes up i recently uninstalled this game cuz i just felt like mtg was so fucking rigged.
tell me how in a 4 color 26 land ramp deck i cant seem to draw a green land in an opening hand maybe like once every 4 games BUT IN A 22 land mono deck i FLOOD EVERY FUCKING TIME
and my 26 ramp deck runs more green than any other color and i have dual and trio lands tht run green
😂😅
I think the game literally shuffles land and non-land in clumps so that might be why it's not giving you the land. I've noticed this because I think alot of the code for the shuffler came from the Duels of the Planeswalkers games as they tended to clump lands and non-lands in the same manner. That's my theory anyway.
I had to grab these numbers again because the last person I quoted them to deleted their comment, whey.

Etc.
im happy someone gets it
I believe the shuffler is fine only because there is no shuffler at all... the game picks up cards conveniently to make you win or loose and the same goes to your opponent.
I know one thing, in Yu-Gi-Oh
I would have drawn at least 1 of my limited to 1 cards like Monster Reborn, Instant Fusion, Foolish Burial, and my Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon first turn or in a few turns at least 4 or 5 times out of 10 duels with my 60 card deck, both in paper and online Yu-Gi-Oh Dueling Nexus/Duelbook. Same with Hearthstone I am guaranteed to get a key card first turn or in the first few turns at least half out of 10 matches. It's like the cards in both Yu-Gi-Oh and Hearth know I like them and have to say hello sometimes, I swear
Heart of the cards, innit
I begun to add 26 lands to my deck. Using 24 lands, I almost always have only 2 lands when starting the game. If I am second, it's like 50/50 between 2 or 3 lands. When I get 3 lands, There almost always a fable passage.
90% of the time when the game ends, I have less lands than the other guy.
I am mana short every 4-5 games. My opponents are mana short like every 50 games.
80% of people I play get a perfect mana ramp, dropping a land 7-8 turns in a row (when the game is long enough)
Oh, I also start game like 33% of the time. I am tired to be second 5-6 times in row.
Stopped to put money in that game at theros... I guess it doesn't help with their algos...
THIS.
@@alexcameron2880 The land draw has improved since that time. But I am always amazed how many time I am mana short compare to my opponents. Still, it's less worst than it was. They still didn't get one cent from me since Theros.
100% rigged couldnt say it better!
01/06/2022 still rigged like a azkhenazte loan game
Or look at Flower or Ajani's Welcome. Its almost funny.
@@Exoticeffect I think this is just the game making the hand more neat and organised with the same logic that it uses in the deck builder. WUBRG (to Multicolour to Colourless) low to high cost etc.
@@undead_inside8634 That would make sense, I guess.
Hey great video, I'm actually compiling a list of data as well to try and take them down. I got a lot of evidence
I think chance of getting a given card in a deck of 60, if you mulligan all the way to 1, card is about 47%
(if you had 4 copies of the card, it'd be different...like 60%?...this is what Tibalt's Trickery jank relies on, i think)
Yeah, that and Thassa's Oracle jank. The maths for probability isn't a simple matter though. I've tried to learn it several times and I can't grasp it. Massive respect to anyone who can put reliable numbers on this shit.
I want to play video games again someday. Same skewing in cod and everything else
I wonder why there just can't be any social interaction with other players. That's 3/4 of the fun
Oh sweet summer child, isn't it obvious?
Most of these opponents magically providing a 15-second lobby wait...are bots.
Cheating AF bots at that.
And now even ranked is fucking rigged. 60 matches, all against monowhite lifegain.
now in the Yugioh Master Duel game the draws are the same now, we draw our one Ultra Rare card much more often then any other card in the deck, even if we run 3 of them, ik it's not magic but this is gonna be Master Duel in a year when we find out the hands are rigged
Why would capitalism do such a thing???!?!??!
This should be illegal once money is involved.
ajanis welcome and artificiers assistan came up sooo many times lmfao
Yeah its august 2021 and still the shuffler is crap.
I can consistently get to tier 3 diamond and get shut out every time. You know when I got to tier 1 Mythic? When I was paying for it.
Playing reanimation deck keeps queuing into Scavenging ooze. KEKW
The game is broken thats why i stoped playing that shit
definitely not random, i've gotten the same hand 4 times in a row mulligan on a starter deck (where there aren't 4 of a kinds)
Have WOTC commented on their matchmaking system anywhere?
Yes on their website, apparently they use a "weighted" system
you should try this again, but with another control after making a purchase in the store.
let me know when you've decompiled the source
YO
Fuck this game! Sadly, I spent money on it before realizing how pathetic it is. This video must be shared!
What's worst is the deck opening. That's how they make the big money. I'm playing mostly black decks and never blue. What rares and mythics do you think I get? Blue... of course. Just opened 15 alchemy, 9 blue, 4 white, 1 green and 1 red. I'm not playing too much white as you can see :) (also it seems to matter what decks I have that are not completely crafted, it never gives me the cards I'm missing from them)
I started playing recently it is very rigged. The most obvious one is opponent goes first
I've started recording my games to upload to UA-cam as proof of what's going on.

Should it not be the opposite for them to make a more fair game?
they do this on purpose to make fools spend their money.
Came here to say its 100% rigged the same way duels of the plainswalker was.
Its all trying to appear as magic like as possible without giving away its still a mobile free to play game.
This is why paper is better
That game is total crap
Is it the same if you use a basic land instead of a rare?
Yes
Yeah, this all started with a one-plains white deck I made for a laugh.
I can make a new deck & it will match me against a deck that’s an exact counter to mine or a mirror match.
