The series with more name changes than any other Capcom fighter probably
Out of all the fighting games that deserve a come back Darkstalkers is one of them.
Agreed, SF6 can wait for a while; the entire franchise has had a lot of spotlight (emphasis on “a lot”), but it’s time for the other forgotten Capcom fighters to bask in it for a while.
Made by this current Capcom staff? Definitely not, to me. They will ruin it like SF.

Redrawing the character icons and NOT the character select portraits was so lazy on Capcoms part for the last one.
They should have put more effort into it or just kept it as it was in the arcade version. Just fixing and improving the easy stuff shines a light on the stuff that they looked at and went ‘nah, it’s too hard and we don’t care THAT much’
I really hope capcom is gonna work on a new generation sequel like Darkstalkers!
It's probably more likely capcom is gonna say "fuck it" and just start putting darkstalkers into street fighter games
This game and killer instinct had great vibe concept.
Darkstalkers 3 was the best of all...and I think it was actually the last one after the PS1 release
Even if this game gets a sequel we would have a lot of returning characters and a few new ones

Me too, but I don’t want them to make it 3D, I want it to be sprite based since it keeps the magic of Darkstalkers
If only Capcom worked with 3D the same way ArcSys are making their Guilty Gear Xrd/Strive, Granblue and Dragon Ball Z games

Jeebus, even though it’s less than Street Fighter 2’s numbers, we’ve had more updates to Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3) than you can imagine! And some/most of them aren’t even available outside of Japan!
If you ask me, I’d prefer a PS5/XSX/Steam release of a new Darkstalkers collection in the future, with the very first Vampire: The Night Warriors (Darkstalkers 1) lifted from the original arcades, Vampire Hunter (Darkstalkers’ Revenge), and a Definitive Edition of Vampire Savior (Darkstalkers 3), based on both versions of Vampire Savior 2/Vampire Hunter 2.
And let that collection be a new-generation taste for the reveal of Darkstalkers 4 next-gen, that’s what we want!
Are you forgetting the VH-VS collection made by Capcom years ago and that didnt do very well commercially? Because people dont even like these games, otherwise the sales would have proven it. And Fightcade stats would show it as well. Look, even FREE and with rollback, not many people play it... LoL
It's just that DS is a very "poser fg", something people just talk a lot about. Probably most people in this comment section dont play the games too, like 1 h total per YEAR. They found out it because of Morrigan in MvC, or at best got to play twice and dont go back to It. And they just want a new game for "stimulation" if you know what i mean...
I believe some people ask for a new game and not even know how a real versus match is like. If a new game is like the old games, he would give up in less than a month. The fact is that DS was designed to be a complex and challenging game, very unlike SF, and more than other Capcom fg's.

Vampire Savior (DS3) and Vampire Hunter (DS2) are different games in terms of mechanics, roster, engine and soundtracks. Vampire Savior 2 and Vampire Hunter 2 are identical in gameplay and engine, with the main differences being the exclusive characters from Hunter being put in the place of characters from DS3 and also replacing the OST of DS3 with DS2's

One thing that you did not know was that for Darkstalkers 3, the home console part version made it be completing battles in Original Character you could unlock extra options to switch Savior, with Hunter 2 and Savior 2 modes and that therefore would have affected the character select screen.

Darkstalkers 1’s Character Select layout is reminiscent of Street Fighter II. Even on Vs. Screen each fighter hails from a country!
So if you want to play a Darkstalkers game with every character in the series available, you have to play vampire for matching service or darkstalkers 3 on ps1
What I've always wondered is what the hell happened to Night Warriors/Vampire hunter character select screen? Its just static character pics on a black backround. Its like every else on this was great but character select what the hell capcom?
I notice in the first game selection screen the sun changes is face Giving a hint about the final boss.
