I liked how every character used to have unique coloured font text.
Sad that they stopped this in Xrd
almost like a band logo, wich is very on brand for guilty gear

@@kitsunezyeah before it became slowly another generic series. Because fun and artistic stuff doenst sell anymore. Now games need to be super balanced and focus on a ranking system, no more getting my face abused by an arcade stick for instantkilling my buddy. :(
Its unique and colorful and such - but also I feel like its simply easier for develops to make and for players to read to keep all character titles standardized in the same font and color. There's a reason this is something that almost every video game ever does.

Guilty gear xx and xx reload had a different character seletion menu from gg xx accent core which i prefer the most.
It's really cool, but I did it with the final versions of each game
The Select Screen music from the second Guilty Gear reminds me of the song "At the Doom's Gate". I don't know exactly why, but I think it has a combination of similar notes..

You could separate XX from AC
Those two are quite different, like Street Fighter 2 and Super Street Fighter 2 series
You could've used the GGXX Slash and then AC+R

Actually there is and is accessible in multiplayer, Overture character select theme has been also reused in SIGN M.O.M mode
Overture very lacking select screen but amazing theme to back it. It's one of the Heaviest tracks in the entire series bar none. The chugs, breakdowns and soul melting guitar solos are next level for such an oddball entry in the series. It's the best character selection themes in GG. Xrd and Strive pale in comparison.
It's called You Only Have To Decide It. I've been listening to it for years and would hear it when playing against a friend or CPU in vs mode (local and online) back when it released on the Xbox 360. You are going to headbang and get hyped.

The GG strive one is a sleeper. I can't understand why they made it THAT boring and unoriginal.
Isuka might be the worst main entry in Guilty Gear series but man it's character select theme is so good.
The last "strive" game had a huge downgrade, the predecessor was and will always be better 😢
The only thing that I actually think isnt good about Strive is the character select screen, and the UI.
But holy shit GGXs screen is actual dogshit. Wtf is that visual clutter, and gross sounding music farting over the speakers? And that nasty looking green color is awful.
Strives UI and character screen isnt great but at least its visually clear.
I think Xrd had the perfect balance with giving visual clarity but still having some visual flair.
Also Xrd and Strive are the only ones with good character select music. The others just sound fine or like actual dogshit.

I hope strive gets better updates soon :(. I like the Game but its predecessor has to much mechanics
