Seen ladys use those traditional wooden pans in rural Lao Vietnam and Cambodia .
The men digs and carries buckets to the woman that pans out and they are like wizards with those pans its like a dance and pretty hypnotic to watch.

I so badly want to be in the bush on the creek... Been more than two years now. I work week on/ week off FIFO, am a single dad on my week off work to two wonderful young kids, I just haven't had even one hour by myself when I'm not at work to be able to get to the creek. My soul hurts, I so badly need to hear the creek sing

When your buckets are stuck together like that if you can grab one of the metal handles and turn it to the left and take the other handle and turn it to the right you can sometimes get them spinning enough that they'll separate.

Beautiful, course gold, Chris. Glee shared for finding this resource, and nearer home. "By the river of Fabulon, where you camp-chair sat down, there ye wailed, when you remembered flour gold, yeah yeah, yeah." Boney Erm... (Boney M got their name from the Australian TV series, "Boney", popular in West Germany, and the late, great Frank Farian, who voiced the Grammy Award winning and handed back Milli Vanilli. Or as TISM had it, "Don't want no fifties rockabilly, I want Milli Vanilli!" Lillee, Caught Dilley, Bowled Milli Vanilli.
A tip to make it easier to separate your buckets, drill a half inch hole just below the big lip of the bucket, that will allow the air to get in so they separate easier 😊
Utube is flocked. I get notifications from channels I saw 1 video of. I wait for these videos and some of my favorite channels like Gadze. Get the notifications a day or two later. What gives? I chanced upon this video.

Chris: If you drill a hole a bit below the lip every 120 degrees and put a grommet in each of the three, when you stack the buckets they can't vacuum lock together. And congrats on completing the 100 bucket challenge, ^5!

Hi Chris,
I came across a few videos of people using manual hand pumps modified with 1 way valves, like the Gold-N-Sand hand pump. but instead of running them to a bucket like the gold-n-sand does, they run the rigid hose to a high banker or river sluice. It would be interesting, as long as its legal in Australia, to see how much material you could run with one of these manual hand dredge, connected to a highbanker/sluice.

A tip to stop your buckets sticking together. I drill a dozen large holes in each bucket. They never stick.

I never thought the otago goldfeilds of nz circa 1860- were so rich, as to my mind there were worked out so quickly and consistanly. I was suprised to find one lucky digger got 4.5 onces in one pan, think of that day, Love your stuff Chris! :)

De-suction buckets by dunking them in water and tug at opposing spots on the rim. Takes only 3-4 tugs to separate. Been doing it that way for over 40 years. Never fails.....
