Tim Welch was probably his hardest match imo. Props to Tim and Jay!
adam bradley was my toughest, strong, pretty technical, and a good gas tank on him. welch was mainly just strong and hard to move
@@jacobrodriguez1938now that u think about it was trials hard, and do u think it will be harder?
Tim’s the man, he’s Sean’s head coach, the main grappling coach is a high level black belt
That really was a genius idea to record the match yourself to prevent copyright issues. Other than that, I can’t believe this kid has trained less than a year. That just shows you what great mentorship and consistency can do!
I think he's been training for about two years? Regardless; very, very impressive! But can we be surprised? He trains with Jones, Ryan and Rod on a daily basis. Again a very impressive win!
J rod has been training for 2 years, it was his brother Nicky, the one narrating, that won trials after one year of training.
I swore I heard Craig Jones say post trials interview that he had only been training for 8 months. Maybe he meant training with them, and then with another academy before. Two years tho, that’s amazing. I’ve trained longer than him and I’m not that good, not even close.

AH! Big difference. Still really impressive!!
Shout out Tim Welch
Thank you B-Team for the amazing content and lessons 🙏🏽
I am glad your commentary and editing game is stepping up!! 👍🔥 Much better than the CNT film you did for your promo. Hope you guys can get a good setup and commentary like Andrew Wiltse has been doing on his channel (much improv d as well). Either way really like seeing you guys succeed and the technique is 🔥🔥🔥. ❤️❤️ The channel!
that back take was a thing of beauty
Love both guys good narrating. Good man good man
Such an amazing tourney… it’s really an amazing accomplishment to have won the whole thing.
Amazing finish. Great work
Wow what a beast! Great finish. That other dude was huge.
Very impressive to be so undersized and still absolutely maul guys with more experience in the game
Nice to see New wave chillin' here as well :)
From screaming to mom to drain his cauliflower ear to winning ADCC trials, good job
Great commentary NickyRod
glad you heard the feedback, this format is way better.
if you got a mic to speak in to it would be perfect!
thanks for the content and instruction 👍❤
epic and well deserved
Very nice!!
AYYY TIM WELCH REPRESENTING LETS GOO CANELOO
Timbo is a beast! Almost got it done..
Oohh shit b-squad coming in hot 🔥
Beast!
Crazy,, less then 2 years of training jittz... and your at that level!!!!...😬😬
I kept thinking that looks loads like Tim Welch.. then I saw Suga Saun sat there. “Shit that is Time Welch” 🤣
🚀🚀🚀
Just...wow...
All RESPECT TO J- ROD !! However, Tim had already fought 15 minutes ( 1st fight he subbed guy in last minute, 2nd went 9 minutes) THATS A FULL UFC FIGHT !!
J-rod had fought 60 seconds in one match.
It is what is is but we need that back.
I rooted for J the rest of the tournament after he took out my professor.
Nicky ,your a beast bro ! Thx 4 the pic !!
Mad respect boys !!
That's the way fate goes sometimes. Hope to see a rematch considering what you've said because Tim put on a hell of a show here.
Tim and team have an open invite to visit B-Team and train
Winning a tournament comes down to the overall performance across all of your matches, getting the submission quickly in early matches can save resources for battles later down the road. Speaking from my experience, the breaks between matches in this ADCC trial were massive and I had well over an hour in between every match on day one to recover.
Yep some people just get tougher matches or they cant get that sub early. It is what it is. Brackets are mostly random. At the end of the day, only in a sub only match you could tell who the better grappler is really.
Suga sean in the other guy's corner, never noticed that
Fucking hell year and half and he's that good
Jersey!
Anyone also noticed shaun o malley at the mat?
Yeah Redhawk
What did Jay rod do before jiu jitsu training?
He was living on the streets - recovered drug addict
I think both Nicky and Jay wrestled before
Damn canelo out here doing jiu jitsu now!!!
is that sean o maley spectating?
Yep, Tim is our coach
Smaller blue belt smashes heavier black belt. The power of bjj
He’s not a normal blue belt
Tim natural Jay on gear
Danny that’s how good I’m trying to be.
When did canelo Alvarez take on Jiu Jitsu
was the choke across the neck or jaw ?
jaw, you can see his chin is covered by the arm
"some sort of foot sankaku"
Kind of wholesome that Nicky Rod still uses Danaher terminology despite having left DDS
It’s not Danahers terminology, it’s the actual word or the terminology Danaher didn’t make it up lol
He doesn't know any better
@@chokeeartist I never said Danaher made it up, I was just meaning that the original Japanese judo terms are known to be part of Danaher's terminology, which he has recently popularised in the BJJ scene since he gained a majoe following in the past 10 years.
I was pointing out that it was interesting to see Nicky still use those terms instead of reverting to more basic and universal terms like "triangle" despite no longer training under Danaher.
Maybe Nicky agrees with this terminology more, or maybe his habits are just hard to break after being with Danaher for so long.

GORDON RYAN
FTW
Hey this guy has trained less than a year? What gym is he out of. I'll move to train with the best If they want someone committed
Cant wait to start saying boots instead of hooks
that sean o malley there
Yes Tim is Sean's head coach, mine as well. Tim is high level black belt
@@onemoreround5493 high level? He got beat by a white belt, promoted to blue after winning trials
@@ams5572 what white belt beat him?
@@parker4560 Jay Rod got bluebelt after his finals in the trials.
@@ams5572 jay rod is on a black belt level buddy. He is submitting black belts everyday.
I never understand why guys try to stand when someone has your back in jits or mma. I'm instantly on the ground working the escape
There's a good amount of athleticism required to secure the back when you stand up. Same dudes probably also love a good scramble!
@@gill_iv8736 How do you get rid of the hooks standing? Theres the choke, but now the Suloev stretch is also there.
was that sugar sean in the corner?👀
Taj Mc Lookout
Mmmmm.... "Tight satisfying strangle"... 😂
Belts no longer matter
Never really did imo
in No gi. You'll never see a blue belt in the gi do that to a black belt
@@JC-wj5os Mica Galvao submitted a black belt as a blue belt in the gi
@@user-xd8cn8fg6e did he win adcc? its way more likely to happen no gi. if you train both, you'd agree
@@JC-wj5os At the first trial he entered he submitted everyone. He has a very good chance of winning the adcc
was seans wife their reff?
Lol Tim just a shadow clearly
Great job! But I do not believe he only have one and half years. This is marketing.
Wrestling at a high level for years before training jiu-jitsu puts you at a great advantage over people that have never grappled before and train for a year and a half
Ya I think it’s obvious they mean he’s been training BJJ for 1.5 years. He wrestled a long time prior
Belts don’t really mean anything when you’re a athletic guy training no Gi.
the editing on this videowas really subpar tbh
Not really Nicky was skipping back and forth
@@lennieleng9679 🙏
I agree, but it’s a little better than before. #smallsteps
Seems biased to me lol
What do you expect it’s his little bro and he ended up beating a black belt under a former adcc champ
Black belt? Rlly? Damn that shit was weak
The ref is distracting
Tim is better than that bum he just got lucky
So interesting watching bjj, imagine if striking was involved 🤜
Lol its called mma
eddie bravo started CJJ. combat jiu jitsu. basically bjj with palm strikes.
Nicky you should’ve analyzed the match instead of commenting it, that’s what commentators are for
Like what jay did wrong
Cool... a breakdown from someone who knows zero jiu jitsu.
He sure is successful for someone who doesn’t know a thing
Doesn’t know jitz makes sense
Username checks out. Interesting coming from a guy that barely trains any nogi.
Is that Sean O’Malley’s coach getting his ass whipped ?
Just like when omally got DESTROYED by chito hahahaha what a loser they are both such losers hahahahaha.
Hahahajajajajaj
Lame!!!
Tim trained his whole life and this kid just a year...? Wtf Tim lol red hawk down
