    OMG! Hawk is on fire this week! Man that 870/ CBT is dead nuts! Both those patterns were impressive. I remember when a 1-7/8 oz payload was a heavy 3 inch 12ga load. Lovin’ the new technology!

      That’s what I’m saying I’m still shocked they jammed that much in a 20 gauge & it shot good, I wouldn’t choke that down though I’d shoot it out of .570 & up

    Might be some valid competition for Apex in that 1-5/8 oz load. Great test; I enjoy your videos.👍

    Wow, Both of those are smoking! Those birds ain’t flopping! 1 7/8 in 20 is stout, definitely heavier than the 12ga loads I shoot. Keep em coming, can’t get enough.

    You know I’ve noticed all that tss shoots pretty good nice dense patterns from most all the brands. Better than lead that is. Nice job guys. 👍🏻🦃

    Pretty crazy that they can load a 20ga shell to 1 7/8. That’s heavier than most “conventional” 12ga loads. I would assume that the heavier 20ga shell would require a more open choke. The .570 performed well, but it would be interesting to see it shot out of a .580 or even more open. I may need to look into that myself. Great video as always 👍

    Both shot extremely well but that 870 was money. Bought some rouge, gonna have to patten it in my 20 and 410. Awesome video as usual.

  • @evanroydexter

    Definitely makes sense that patterns better than lead because a 20 gauge lead turkey load is 1 1/4 and that stuff is 1 7/8.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  3 роки тому

      Every 20 gauge offering in tss thus far into testing patterns better than lead with the exception of one load regardless of the payload, the extra density of the pellets not only increases penetration but also helps with pattern density as well

    Definitely need to try the 1 7/8oz thru the Code black. Its not gonna hurt a thing, the worst it will do is blow the pattern. But I don't think that will be the case.

    years before 1968 on, full chokes pot luck ammo, 2007 thru 2012 chokes got lot better I used 12ga 3 inch used #5 with 1 7/8 Federal, now you get 410 if you choke it properly with TSS #9 #91/2 that would out pattern it at 50 yds 40yds, 20ga would certainly retire all my present 12 ga guns with good chokes and win long beards good rounds but out classed with TSS and better patterns more distant, Chokes and Ammo changed turkey hunting for all that want to spend little more, but keep your 12, shoot long beard keep distant 45 and under many dead turkeys nothing wrong with that at all, I keep with it even if I do have the 410 and 20 with .383 and .555 knowing what I can do with them but I love my old 12ga heavy but killed lots of thunder chickens given lots turkey meat away with the 12ga.

    I’d like to see hawk shoot the 1 7/8 ounce out of his set up! If that was a clean backing cardboard even if you bring your down 3 inches and over 3 inches. The pattern still has so much mass to it your going have pellets in the meat 🍖 but it’s still super impressive big time both are.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA  3 роки тому +1

      Idk if I’d want to choke down an 20 gauge load that’s that heavy more than .570 but Wel be switching and testing both through all our setups!

    • @BrockLowell

      You decide per the time of the season what to use!!! I will rock the 10ga early season and late season move to 20ga and .410!!!

    • @BrockLowell
      @BrockLowell 3 роки тому +1

      @@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA I’ve hunted them 20 years ago with a bow. Then lost all interest in bow hunting turkeys because of all the gear you need. Blind, chairs, decoys, then you guys have cameras 🎥. That’s not really my real problem with the whole dance 💃. Once your setup is complete your Committed/stacked down so to speak and that drives me crazy. I’ve killed tons of birds tied down to a blind but mostly because it’s raining super cold or wind 🌬 or just all three conditions at the same time in the north country! Once you shoot one it’s awesome till the old gobbs running off with your arrow.
      My favorite turkey hunting video is of the one the only Legend BEN LEE Sr. Shoot a Tom in south Texas and watching the turkey fly off with the arrow in him. I’m talking gone over the tree tops gone. Old Ben Lee was like that boys in the next County and just went after another Rio lol
