    I retain the water and the leftover rice and have it as 'kanji' at night. I find it very filling. We can have this rice two or three times a week.

    Nisa Mam, thanks for the video of showing of how to traditionally cook rice. Was exactly looking for instructions using a clay pot. Thank you so much :). Mam, what are your thoughts about Black rice? We call it karuppu kavuni rice in tamil. I have been prescribed to take it for diabetic control and inflammation in body. Thanks for all your healthy and helpful videos !!

    Is this the same as red rice? Navara rice here in the US is $71 for 1 kg on Amazon US.
    WOW! that's expensive!! I wonder how different it is from red rice, just curious?

    • @thebetterbites
      @thebetterbites 2 роки тому

      Its very different from red rice.. just that they resemble each other.. navara rice has multiple excellent benefits but the original seeds of navara rice and it's cultivation is almost extinct. these days the available ones are hybrid.. but those are costly in India also... Navara was used to cure several diseases in olden days .. you could read about it. Maybe it's the original variety available there and that's why it's 71 dollars..

    Is not a problems for to lost nutrients when cooked a rice in lot of water ? It's not best to cook in absorption ? This rice is more cooked, glycemic index is not to up, more big...no? Thanks you for your vidéo.

      @@skinnyrecipes Thank you for your explanation. I must not have translated well into English... I don't have this rice exactly, but then I use an organic red rice from Thailand sold in France. My question was about the cooking method. I heard that cooking rice in a lot of water is a shame because you lose nutrients. Is it serious in your opinion? And I was also wondering when I saw this overcooked (exploded) rice, if this was a problem for someone who was watching their blood sugar? (glycemic index being higher if cooking makes it very cooked)

      Hello, all my life I have suffered from endometriosis n gynae kept giving me progesterone pills , due to which I had severe side effects even after the hysterectomy at age of 37.. later when I dig deeper i got to know that DIM supplement, exercise esp for pelvic floor, changing dietary habits, maintain ideal wt ( keep insulin under control) n keeping stress under control is all u need to do..

    • @geetubajaj6868
      @geetubajaj6868 Рік тому

      @@myphotosone , pls dnt opt for surgery..it's just an easy way for inefficient doctors. Go for hormone therapy (not the synthetic one) from a certified functional medicine doctor..change your lifestyle, get your meal plan corrected..leave dairy n gluten.. exercise esp for pelvic floor strengthening...get panchkarma done..u will save your organ..trust me God has not made us with spare organs which can be taken out without any side effects

    I’m so confused about the difference between the Kerala matta rice and navara rice?! Could you please clarify? Is matta rice and navara rice subtypes of red rice? If so which is better? If you could provide a link that explains the difference in nutritional vali that would be so helpful. Thank you!
