How We Sleep in a Tiny Toyota Yaris - Traveling the Country Cheap!

  • This is our trusty Toyota Yaris. At first we thought about buying a car in Australia but would have to spend a fair amount on fees and taxes and then deal with trying to sell it later. Instead we got a really good deal on this tiny fuel efficient Toyota Yaris! This became our home!
In this video I show you how we set it up into the sleeping configuration. Australia has a bunch of free public park with tables and even free electric BBQ's so cooking was done at these parks. We just carried our kitchen tub over to the tables and enjoyed great meals. If we wanted to rent a campervan instead the rental would have been more than triple the price and we would have also paid much more in gas. We were very happy with this set up.

Wow that is one tight little space. It's really cool though,to see that someone can live/travel in a space that small and be able to enjoy it. Defintely makes me think that a minivan won't be so bad after all. Thank you both for sharing this.

Your improvisation is better than any tent and it's secure, warm and comfortable.
Travelling in a highly fuel efficient vehicle ensures that your greatest expense is as small as its possible to get it.
The Yaris (and cars of this type) are really stealth, in that nobody takes any notice of them.
Thank you for another imaginative, informative and inspiring video.

A kangaroo😂? your on another planet over there! Most I will see is a dog on a leash where Ive been boondocking(Indiana dunes). I started travel boondocking last fall, at a flying J truck stop. I didn't sleep, but went again this summer to a vistors center at the dunes, w my spouse, didn't sleep again due to his snoring and a poor bedding set up. The next night I was myself and set up a 6" inflatable Coleman cot mattress, and slept well! I love boondocking now, wish I would have started this 30 years ago! Its important to just start doing it, don't get discouraged, keep tweaking your build.
