I love this show I’m so happy that it has been picked up for a second season.
Too bad probably have to wait a whole year.
As the story is at this moment, I was feeling like this series was going to be a single season one off... which would have been perfectly fine.
Hearing they've green lit a season 2 is very cool... but honestly, it'll only be cool of the creators planned this story out for 2, 3, or 4 seasons. I hate when a solid show gets extended because it's popular and the writing team now has to extend a story beyond it's original intent.
The creator presented a 5 year story plan before HBO said yes.

I think those monsters she killed and took their blood might have been human once.. which is why campion never wanted to kill it and why the blood cooperates with mother.
They are from another planet. Not earth
The aliens are not Human. The reason she takes their blood is because, for one they aren't radio active, and also they are carbon based lifeforms which is what the fetus is also made of.
Zikri m12 they could have inhabited the planet millions of years before earth, and could be like Pandorum where they transformed into subhuman creatures.
KzDM could be, but in that weird shaped looking thing where it was spitting out white stuff, kinda looked like those creatures.. I think there’s something more to them than just a random monster on a foreign planet.

It seems unlikely that with all the precautions Campion Sturges took in preparing for “The Mission” that he wouldn’t have also given Mother at least one backup set of eyes. 🤷♀️
You don't want a character powerful enough to just instantly wipe away trouble. Story can get very linear with such power.

Mithraism is not a "secret" Roman religion per se , its a pre-zoroastrian Iranian(Persian) religion worshipping sun and justice.
It was adopted by ancient rome after some parts of it were conquered by persia hence got exposed to the religion and "Mithra" was worshipped as their deity.
And Christianity adopted a lot of it, rather than the other way around.

I once was in a Mithraic temple in Rome. Basilica of San Clemente has a church from the 1600's, on top of a church from the 1200's, built on top of a temple from 200 bc, on top of a Temple to Mithras. Highly recommend.

When the voice spoke to Campion the closed captions read "kill your father". Also, I thought the voice was also talking to Paul when he burned the cards. If so, that could mean the host wanted Mother to scan the cards to learn a history, but the voice did not.
Darquin Wilson yeah I’m thinking there are two scriptures that were sent to the earth. The mithraic got one, and Otto said there was another group that had those tarot cards. The thing is that voice wanted mother to survive...but maybe it needs mother for something, and the “host” wants her for something else.
I think Paul heard the voice and it told him to burn the cards the audience just couldn't hear it except for that strange wind sound

What if Sol is actually a rogue AI? It's becoming prominent that Sol is real. Or probably he is an alien technology from extinct species, and the religious mistaken the book for Holly Book and accidently activated the AI Sol. And now, with the human species in danger, Sol lead himself and the rest of human to his origin planet

The show is becoming bad, the story is becoming inconsistent, especially the part about mother’s blood giving super strength, sp many plot holes too
@Dalle Smalhals oh don’t be stupid , you have to be dumb not to see that the last two episodes were absolute trash, I fell in love with the show’s premise, world building and the great acting, however these last two episodes seem to be losing the charm, the show is trying to be mysterious for mystery sake, first we have a pregnant android that can feed her baby any blood she can find, not only that, her blood also gives super powers now, The whole Ortho becoming super strong doesn’t make sense, and we all know Marcus isn’t dead, because the Android eyes are going to revive him in some way, that is just weak writing, and there are more to list

@@frankcompston5065 if it sticks with ridley scotts other stories, its thats the hard liners, the it can only be all in religions or gull on atheism are probably just a part of the full story. those that deal with absolutes are missing something about being humans type deal. i 5ink this is foreshadowed by campian himself , raised atheist yet still does things that could be seen as spiritual. so the “good guys” may be partof a third option that is hinted at type deal. i think the current two sides arent fully evil nor good per say, though the story does point to the atheist as being the good guys.. in the sense that the thesis is religion caused the death of humanity (wars etc) and so the absense of it completely must be the solution (hence mothers protocol for raising children in a stritct atheist fashion, raised by wolves.. raised by entity that have no loyaly to anyone but their own wolf pac)

Only reason for the scene of Otho getting suped up. Letting the viewers know what happens to humans with Android dna or whatever. As well as Mother's child being the future of humanity, it's a hybrid. Big case of foreshadowing.

It’s good sci-fi, meant to be thought provoking and not just heroic fantasy in space.
The logical answer would be that they are still on the mother ship in the stimulation. And maybe Champion hacked it to teach them all a lesson or something. But then again that's kind of a hack premise

This show is amazing! I love all the craziness and brilliance of it. I definitely think that The Host has everything to do with the voices they all have been hearing - I also think that he/she is responsible for the sudden appearance of the creatures. Mother and Father both said that they've been there for 12 years and never saw the creatures before. I think that The Host made them somehow - perhaps similar to how Mother made Gen-1, or experimented on humans who landed with/before him/her on that Tarantula ship, keeping them in stasis until now. There's a lot going on, and I love it!
The baby was probably always in her, hibernating. The "flashback" when she stepped into the spaceship she said that she has a weird feeling inside her which we assume was her feeling guilt or emotional pain that she won't see Campion again
The creature mother dreamed looked like the creatures on the planet but it was spewing out white liquid.
Either this is foreshadowing her child will be captured by the humans later or maybe it’s what’s inside the polyhedron.

OK, bare with me here because this is wild speculation, but yesterday I watched "Memory: The Origins of Alien" - a documentary about the Alien movie franchise also from Ridley Scott. I think 'Raised By Wolves' actually falls into the Ridley Scott Alien movie canon, based in the timeline before Prometheus. If Mother's baby bursts out of her stomach face-hugger style next episode then I totally called it right. Also the alien four legged creature we got a good look at in this episode could totally pass for early not so evolved version of the Neomorph (from Alien: Covenant). What do you think - am I way off ?

Scott didn't create or write the show, he simply directed the first two episodes and produced it. The show is created by Aaron Guzikowski, and it wasn't ever picked up before he started with the ideas, his pilot screenplay was picked up.
Dead Poet Scott didn’t create or write the Alien series either - he directed a few of them.
I don't believe the timeline line up for the two stories.

RBW is by far the best Sci-fi series to hit the tv in a decade or more - Got me totally hooked, one of Ridley Scotts best work.
The way the helmet crushed Ottho's head reminded me a lot of how the Witch King from LoTR was killed.

Necromancer "blood" gave Otho enhanced powers from the dark force or whatever powers her. So putting the eyeball in Marcus's mouth will probably save him. Also not recovering Otho's newly enhanced blood was a mistake.

Great analysis! I’ve sort of been thinking they will find out the creatures are somehow mutated humans. When the Mythraic kids were eating them for the first time, the likened the taste to pork (it’s been said that human meat has the same resemblance.) Also, the compatibility of the blood is another clue.

My theory is the Prometheus playbook. An incredibly advanced alien race long ago visited earth and began the mythraic religion. Necromancers is alien tech uncovered by humans. They adapted the tech to make androids. A member of the alien race was cast out and crash landed on Kepler 22b where it has been for thousands of years. The creatures are a by product of native species of the planet with alien tinkering. The resident is a higher intelligent/evolved form of the native creatures that worships the alien much like humans do with the mythraic.

i don't know but the cage from the vision unlocked by the tarot cards resembles more the shape of the censer used by the priests than the polyhedron. watch ep 7 at minute 13:00 where the shape is the centre of the shot
I always thought stories where normal people just "go crazy" with a little power was far flung unrealistic...but it isnt...which is actually terrifying.
The holes/pits have obvious spiral shaped groves from a giant drill bit like tool. Made by same lifeform who built pentagonal stone structure. Holes may be entrance to inner world or part of terraforming attempts. This lifeform could be saul.
A lot of embryos were lost down a hole in the first episode. I reckon the voice made the creatures from them. Timing makes sense, as the creatures didnt turn up until years later.
Paul clearly burned the cards following instructions by "Sol". There was a lot of whispering sounds going on before he set off to burn them.
The information that Karl shared about the Necromancer's technology basically coming from the voice of Sol is also very important in my opinion. It might hint that Sol comes from Kepler-22B and has been planning all the events leading to Mother coming to the planet with her package/baby.
Hopefully indeed, the last episode of season 1 will have some answers for us.

The caracters used in English and other languages are Latin. The Roman empire founded, legend says, by Romulus and Remus, used to include England too.

This entity is what mother is pregnant with. It seem this entity only has only limited powers in it's current state but I suspect once born it will have god like powers
This always explains why mother only focus now is to protect this thing inside her. The children are no longer her main priority

The whateverhedron is an instant city. Rome built in a day. Either prophet kid or mother is the key that unlocks it. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised if how long they took to get there is far far longer than they believe and the earth figured out how to send things way faster so it looks like they were there to begin with.
Sol is in the Rock trapped as a beast scene in hexagon. Cultist people live in the holes and they might have saved the girl who fell there. Child of a Mother might be somehow connected to Prometheus and Alien lore, maybe its reincarnation of Sol or someone who will open the Rock prison. Child might be the Engeneer from Prometheus. Marcus becomes powerfull boss because he swallowed the eye. I think humans, androids and creatures will merge some new life form, forming maybe Engeneers and Aliens..
The password was Father communicating it for someone so they could program him back.
The people that set the password are the mythraic that reprogrammed him in the show, not Campion.
Maybe the baby Mother is carrying is a clone of Campion...

It's some hybrid Android/Human that Campion that he embedded in her, not a clone...though interesting theory that it's part him.
Jose Rojas the cover art for the show, shows mother and the newborn baby, it looks entirely human, but then again so do mother and father.

The Host is part of the old civ on the planet. Campion is not that creature... he just embedded himself into Mother's consciousness before she left. He probably placed the fetus in there and kept it in stasis until she was ready.
If only the Expanse would of contained more episodes. Then I wouldn’t of had to subject myself to blood draining androids that give birth to alien hybrid babies. I really didn’t see this series going full acid trip. But now that I’ve watched all 9 episodes I’m unfortunately invested. I hope it gets more believable.

I know they said this series isn't SUPPOSED to be part of the Alien universe. But tell me that android blood spitting creature's head doesn't look exactly like the exoskeleton/space helmet that covers the Engineer's head, from during Prometheus when he wakes up pissed from cryosleep & starts taking off for Earth w/the black goo.

So the baby might be Engeneer from Prometheus? The creatures have shown to have some connection to Alien actually I think. And the Rock is the prison of Sol. And someone lives in the pits probably.
