      Those people aren't giving enough credit to the selection cadre. Nobody's achieving tougher mental fortitude, or an improved ability to function while stressed and exhausted, by watching UA-cam.

      as a guy who lives in a village in the middle of nowhere, can you tell me how i should train to run? i only have roads full of holes, so i can't go to a place like a track to see my distance for example to do sprints

    • @DerEinzigSohn
      @DerEinzigSohn 18 днів тому

      Don't even think about the distance, just run at a steady pace. Push it further and further each time, sorting for a bit then jog, walk a few seconda then jog again. If you can't jog it run, walk it while recruiting a song verbally and out loud. Point is, never think about the number of time until you're done, just continue pushing it to aid falling into this trap of thinking, "Just ______ more until I'm done."@@patriotatuga5757

    I love the videos. You have got me, an old Dad, rucking again.
    I totally agree with most of your comments about rucking.
    I especially agree with comments about running shoes.
    Even at my fittest, I was 175 pounds. Shoes were critical.
    Get to serious running stores.
    Now, if the option is available and one has funds, I kept 2 sets of shoes.
    One for distance and one set of ultralight for PT tests.

    Everyday when I was doing selection and p company the ds used to tell us every day that the more you sweat in training the less you'll bleed in war and they were correct. It didn't stop people getting zapped because war but good aggressive training in small unit tactics and the brilliant first aid training will save blood and lives. As for training I did 4 month up on the Moors at Northumberland had me physically prepared. Those para veterans on the ds still nearly drove me to quitting but I'd been told this moment would come, you hit the wall, your mind starts playing tricks so from that point I took it an hour at a time. That wall never came back. All I'm saying is when you think you're done just try another 200-400 metres and you never know, you might get that second wind. Respect from the UK although I'm still upset that some green berets who in Baghdad were living in a virtual palace with amazing grub and they wouldn't give us young paras any of it. Although they did have an amazing barbecue before they left. Think it was the tenth group and it was 05 I think when we still were getting fucked on route Irish but for Iraq it was pretty quiet otherwise. Might have the year wrong. Keep doing good and fighting the good fight buck, massive salutations brother

    Great insight for the new guys and those looking to join up looking at these specialized jobs as an option. Your feet WILL love you for getting the foot scan and appropriate footwear.
    Another vital skill is the ability to be adaptive with general technical aptitude and analytical abilities. My old version/ original GT score on the ASVAB fortified by ability to do option 40 contract for the 11x/ Baby SOF entry program once Infantry OSUT was completed, huge asset to be mechanically inclined from the get-go. A good episode on these factors would be great to cover in depth too, especially with how much of that is implemented in SFAS and Q-Course and additional Schools afterwards.
    Let's see a collab with the "Life is a Special Operation" Channel and with Mike Glover Actual/ Fieldcraft Survival!

    If you reduce your body fat percentage to the ideal range your endurance and available energy will be optimal since your heart does not need to support the extra tissue but your body isn't in 'starvation mode'.
    eating in a surplus of calories is good for training as it helps you push yourself further but you need to be well used to functioning in a steep deficit too.
    If this video is directed at highschool/college kids then I suggest a video dedicated to hard baseline facts like these that will optimize the process.

    I'm currently going through the official 8 week sfas fitness handbook, it's a progressive buildup of rucking, running, mobility, and stretching.
    I've found being on a program takes the guesswork out of training and forces you to do the runs when you'd rather lift weights.
    Still trying to decide on option 40 vs 18x.

    • @Last_Chance.
      @Last_Chance. 2 роки тому

      Cardio is waay more useful than weight lifting in preparation. Just do body weight exercises. Don't lift weights until after you've made it. You don't want to build anymore muscle that you have to carry around.

    1) What were the pros and cons of tall SF guys that you worked with (I’m 6’5, 200 lbs lean)?
    2) I’ve been debating on the usefulness of “babying” my body in training (I.e. great fitted shoes/boots, supplements, etc.) just due to me not having access to any of that once I’m in selection and the Q. I don’t want me feet/body to go through a drastic adaptation process to assigned gear being less than ideal compared to the stuff I train(ed) with. Thoughts?

      @@FNGACADEMY Early or late May ? Last week of May I'll be heading to Missouri for a One Shepherd leadership course, but if your here earlier I'll come meet you somewhere? I need to do a gear shake down anyways.
      ... that or you can even come camp out in my yard for a night if you need a place to stray on your way through?
      Either way, I like what you do and I guess keep up the good work; and seriously hit me up when you come out. I'd do some kind of collaboration video with you. I think my people would definitely like watching your content, and I think it would be cool to introduce them to you.

    So if I decide to go sf do I pick mos cause I’m a shooter I want to be in it I’m that hard charging kid new guy but is every mos in the 18 series a shooter or is it like only 18 bravo does the shooting and can I pick my mos or is it like you get what we choose cauee if I can’t pick my mos

      everyone is a shooter, B will just be in charge of teaching weapon systems, knowing maximum effective ranges, back blast areas, etc. but everyone will train CQB and do lots of range time (bravo will be in charge of range setup)

    Is it better to go in the military after or before college

    • @achimpanzee9210

      Little late but I’ve *heard* that the process is longer to get into special forces after college than just going right into it after high school. Something to do with becoming an officer and having to be a certain rank after college

    Buck, watch this video (about Ukraine) when you have a few minutes. I've been watching all his videos since the war started but what he speaks on this one really got to me. I think the US (as part of NATO) is going to have to get in there. It's just a matter of time.
