    From what I heard, they basically had one shipment into the country and failed to disclose info/payment to customs department which led any subsequent shipments being blocked, hence the high price. It was a while ago so I don't remember the exact specifics sorry 😅

    In Malaysia we don't get the "Global" Honda small bikes namely the Super Cub, Monkey, Grom, Navi. Additionally they are also quite pricey in comparison so I guess that's why they've decided not to bring them in.

      Yeah the super cubs sales figures pretty much says it all

      Pricey honda CT 125 that you could buy powerful machine like Yamaha Y16.

      For that money I'm looking at a Modenas Elegan or Dominar or Duke 200, or if you're willing to look into the second hand market you can even get an older Vulcan or Ninja 650

      @@illyasvielgoddenflash2340 Or if you specifically want a cub bike go for an SYM VF3i, for much less money you're getting what is arguably a faster bike and larger fuel tank

    Surprisingly, in the US the monkey is actually used mostly for offroad. The old monkey bikes in the 70's were primarily used as a trail bikes, or bikes people put on their RVs, and people do the same with the new monkeys as well. People make offroad builds of the grom and navi as well.

      That makes sense now you mention it. I do love a nice off-road bike no matter what it is.

    This monkey is to expensive dude

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  4 місяці тому +3

      When it was first released in Malaysia it was actually cheaper to buy than in most western countries. It’s only expensive now because of the limited numbers. If you bought one when they were first released it wasn’t so bad.

    They should have brought in the CT125 and not this monkey. Instead that market segment is being filled by and almost exact copy of the CT125. The Aveta.

    • @SmallBikeStuff
      @SmallBikeStuff  4 місяці тому +2

      Only issue is this was a limited release before the CT125 even existed. So that was never an option at the time. I agree though - CT125 should have made it to more countries.

      @@SmallBikeStuff yamaha pg1 is here in Philippines now. I think its a competitor of honda ct125.

    • @rollakid
      @rollakid 4 місяці тому

      The Aveta is a carbureted bike, no? As someone who don't know how to work on carbs I really wanted an EFI adventure cub.

    • @behedged
      @behedged 3 місяці тому

      @@rollakid , yes it is. The honda is EFI. On the plus side for adventure/exploring , carbs are more reliable, or to put it more precisely, less prone to total malfunction compared to EFI. But hey, honda EFIs are also easily sourced.
      Peace.
