    Howdy, I've got a aftermarket Temp Gauge for my 04 3.0 Ranger. I got it because the factory gauge is sticking or shorting inside of the cluster. I ran my sender wire straight to the factory sender wire. When it's connected both temp gauges stop working, and I get a check engine light for high voltage on temperature input. Anything you recommend to fix this?

      I don't know how yours is wired up, but if you got a new gauge you'll have to run separate wires to your new gauge and not mix the old with the new. Also, use a add a fuse adapter, or something similar. www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-ATM-APM-10A-Blade-Fuse-Holder-TAP-Adapter-12V-Auto-Car-Add-a-circuit-Fuse/264094620124?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

      @@WhipCityWrencher To give you a break down, the gauge I have has three input prongs. One for power, one for ground, and the third is for the sending unit wire. I wired power and ground into my radio, since I have a aftermarket head unit and it’s already fused I figured that would be the easiest thing to do. My sender wire is basically a new wire hooked into the existing factory sending unit wire, I use the word splice because the factory wire does still run to the cluster. I ram the wire to the sender wire as kind of a fork. Based off what you’re saying, should I just connect the sender wire directly to the new gauge and nothing else?

      @@Enemy.AC.130 Yep, I would cut that wire, tape it up, and put it aside in case you want to use it at a later date. If that doesn't work you may need a new temperature-sending unit.

    Hi I just installed a electric glowshift oil pressure gadge in my 1999 3.0L ranger has 166k miles on it after a long drive on the highway at idle my oil pressure is 13psi an around 2500 it’s 45psi an cold starts it’s 63 psi does that sound normal?

    • @WhipCityWrencher
      @WhipCityWrencher  3 роки тому +1

      13 psi sounds a little low to me but that could be normal on the 3.0, I have the 4.0 so it may have different specs but mine warmed up at idle is around 20 psi. One thing I've noticed is the oil can make it lower or higher because some motor oils have a higher viscosity even after they've warmed up. I don't know what your truck calls for. What grade oil are you using?

      @@kamryn7496 That's what I'm using right now also. Maybe 13psi for your engine is normal, I don't know. I would do some google searches and you may find some info on it.
      Good Luck and Take care.👍🙌

      @@WhipCityWrencher hey man, i ordered everything in your video and im not sure if im doing it correctly, the fitting doesnt go all the way into the t adapter, is that fine?

    • @WhipCityWrencher
      @WhipCityWrencher  3 роки тому

      @@justinallen2619 Depends, how far in did it go? If it's pretty snug don't force it or you'll probably strip the threads. If it turned in at least 5 full turns you should be okay.
