Love Taiwan ❤ 🇹🇼. I was there for 7 months during Covid and they did an amazing job. If you like Xiao Long Bao, you have to eat at Din Tai Fung ASAP! I sometimes ate lunch AND dinner there!

Taipei is freakin' amazing! Definitely one of our favorite cities. Amazing food and super friendly people.
We probably spent $50 on crane games in Japan, and won ONCE. A small little plastic Pikachu. In Taiwan, we won about dozen little plushies for half that. The crane games in Taipei are actually winnable! Haha.

This is so true! So many kind locals approached us and offered their help or kind suggestions! Totally blown away by the generosity and kindness and hands down some of the world's friendliest people are from Taiwan ❤
I was born and grew up in Taiwan, but all my children were born in the US. Taipei 101 was built after I left Taiwan. I once took my son back to Taiwan, and my son found out one of his friends was in Taiwan at the same time. So they talked on the phone and decided to meet somewhere. His friend asked where he was, which he had no idea. Trying to identify a landmark, I looked up and saw Taipei 101, so I told my son that we were somewhere that we can see Taipei 101. As soon as my son relayed the message, I heard a voice (probably a relative of his friend) from the other side of the phone, "you can see Taipei 101 from anywhere in Taipei"! LOL!

Nice Vid! Good day #1 for sure. Taiwan is SO much different from Mainland China. The people are way more laid-back, friendly, patient and happy and well behaved. Now head into the mountainous areas, near Taipei for easy day trips, or in the Central Mountain Range for real hikes. (25 peaks over 4,500 m (11,500 ft). Go to the laid-back surf villages just north of Taidong for a real escape, and down to the S. Tip of Kenting.
Or take the MRT from Taipei to Tamsui Station for a good easy day trip to historical sights and a good river-side market vibe.

Really love your video and love how you guys did your research to give the viewers additional info/story for the places you went to. All the shots are so beautiful. Either Taiwan is so beautiful everywhere or you guys have really good camera skills. I’m Taiwanese but don’t always see the country in the same light as the way your camera show it. I will show this video to my friends if I were to let them know what it’s like there.

I rented a bike for 1 months and did a loop of the island, it was one of the best times. The night markets and beaches are some of the best in Asia 🎉 you guys will really love the SW of the island, lots of snorkeling to be had!!

Chiang Kai Shek is a bit of a controversial figure. Before Taiwan became a democracy in the early 90s, he and his party had Taiwan under an authoritarian rule. He put taiwan under martial law for 38 consecutive years, killed between 18-28k people, imprisoned at least 140k political dissenters, some of them decades. For claw machine, you need to drop it on the slope. If you see slope, you play, if you don't, move on. 😉 Also if you like mountains climbing, I recommend Jade Mountain, the highest in Taiwan; it's quite green and beautiful.

The mechanism of the claw machine in Taiwan is a little bit different that some people call it a scam. It sets a guaranteed price that when you reach the price, the claw becomes very strong, before that, the grabbing is so weak that it cannot hold the item to the hole. Some people practice the skill of getting the items by swinging the claw.

Great overview of Taipei in a day and always great to see visitors enjoying Taiwanese hospitality! Would recommend visiting Kenting National Park on the southern tip of the island and if you make your way up the east coast, Taroko Gorge National Park is a can't miss! For food, try to checkout Din Tai Fung, Michelin Star rated. Enjoy your time on the island.

While in Taiwan, you just cannot miss Taroko gorge near Hualien on the eastern side of the island. There are lots of great hiking trails which are short and can be done easily.
Why did you write Taiwan in Simplified Chinese? That's what they use in the PRC. In Taiwan, they use Traditional Chinese, 台灣 or 臺灣。
