Sans promised Toriel that he wouldn’t “kill the human”. I like the twist on this, considering the protagonist isn’t exactly human at a certain point, so that meant Sans wouldn’t be breaking his promise.
oh shit you're right, because Mettaton Non-Effective-Obstacle (NEO) was made to be a *human* extermination machine, yet ever attacks even if you waste your turn, meaning you're not human.
he says "sorry old lady. this is why I never make promises." before he even starts the fight. which to me sounds like he knows he's breaking his promise.

I did stopped with pacifist. I don't really regret it, but every time I watch a playtrough, and Flowey mocks the viewers for being too coward to do it themself, I know, that that's for me. But well, I choosed my poison. (Also, my decision has nothing to do with the fact, that I'm too clumsy and impatient to ever beat Undying or Sans)

@@jackofalltrades8412 Yeah, but I just don't have the patieence (or determination... or perseveration). When I firstplayed, I did a ragquit at Waterfall Bridge, because Undyne always killed me. It was a little humiliating to see a letsplayer to do it the first time... The thing is, Undertale was my first game ever. Now I played some more games, some of them has some difficult dodging, and I'm not as terrible at them. Maybe if I tried I would do a geno run eventually, but I just don't see the point now. I already know, what would happen, and I only feel sorry for the characters.

Only reason it blindsides you is because he takes the first turn
It was the best attack that he could think in the first part, then he got more creative and aggressive when he decided to put all the effort.
Gotta love how sans’s “bad time” quote refers to his first attack and how throughout the fight he makes you suffer just as you made his friends suffer
I always thought the “Bad Time” was Chara taking over the player, hence the jumpscare by the end of the game

@@gembem9430 Chara and Asriel accidentally poison Asgore with a buttercup pie (buttercups are poisonous), he gets very sick, and Chara laughs it off. Some time later Chara convinces Asriel to merge their souls so he can break the barrier (or so she lied to him as we know a single human soul cannot do that). Logically they don't succeed, but Asriel manages to go out of the cavern, but once he's out there, Chara tries taking over in order to kill everybody around them, but Asriel refuses. It's all in the VHS tapes you find in the True Lab.

Chara seeks out external sources of power to forward her schemes cuz she is weak and she knows it, that's why she thanks you for giving her the power she lacked. She doesn't awaken after Sans' battle, she's already awakened by the time you kill Toriel, hence why the flavor texts change in the Genocide route; they're not your thoughts, they're Chara's. And that last hit Sans gets where we press no buttons? That's her. ...She kills you in the end when you choose to refuse to move on to the next world in order to destroy it.

Just imagine a random guy who has never heard of Undertale goes and buy the game randomly and he says "Hmm, I'm gonna farm XP so I'm going to stay in this area and kill the monsters," and accidently goes on a genocide run.

And Sans... well I had a keyboard with the smallest arrow keys ever and couldnt circle so i died at the last attack where you are supposed to go in a circle for 5 secs like 20 times but once you learn the attacks it is ALMOST FULLY based on mucle memory too so idk
