The unique circuitry that Mike Soldano pioneered didn't just make the SLO-100 iconic; it is responsible for the American high-gain sound as prevalent in modern music today as it was almost four decades ago.
Recreating every nuance of this extraordinary amplifier was an immense responsibility that we did not take lightly, and in 2021 the Soldano SLO-100 plugin was born.

My favorite plugin always. I use my own IRs but the ones that come with it are good too.
Any specific IR you really recommend? I want to vary a little bit on it...

This is the BEST plugin I was not going to when practicing only for the convenience of having built-in metronome which was present in other plugins. Now after this is updated to the X version, I almost don't need anything else. So, unless I need a specific effect this does not have or brutal tone of Cali, I will definitely go for this one. In other words 99% of the time I will use the SLO-100X, it is crazy good. Its been three days I cannot get off the Rabea's "Strat Hi Gain" preset. It is so good, it's been some time since sound inspired me to play like that, with this one it almost talks to me about stuff. It may sound mad, but its just I can't even describe it. I feel happy when I plug into this preset - it is tasty as hell and so versatile I can sit on it for hours. Great stuff, Neural DSP, THANK YOU! PS. great how-to as always, your playing is super clean and tasteful.

Is there going to be a change in sound of the amp, pedals and presets if I upgrade? Or do I just the get new features?
I think it is mostly the features... But as being someone who used this plugin for a looooooong time, I felt it was more dynamic now.
It installs as a different plugin, so you’ll have both plugins and you can compare the two. Should be the same sound i think

@@AlexandreAugustin Ok, I tried both. I think they are not the same. The new one responds differently to my volume knob. It's sort of bigger, heavier, has a "body". Still don't know which one I prefer. Maybe the older one. But, they could be the same and I am just emabarassing myself here :D
@@Stanslick You can put both in the same settings, and put the same audio signal in the input of them, and invert the phase, this will show you if there is different. If the sound is just muted it will mean it is not the same. I did not managed to test that out yet.
I am not sure why my slo100x does not sound like yours. mine sounds a bit flubby. i run thrugh focusrite scarlett
so do I but a lot will come down to the guitar too. Maybe it is the input lol...
