When I first played I dressed Arthur pretty much like Dutch because I liked the slick dapper cowboy look but the more I played the more I realised that it didn't fit the character. I think Arthur Morgan better suits a rough and scruffy cowboy look.
I tried to dress as Dutch as well my first time but now I just use some fancy coat and vest. I like to use Arthur’s dress shirt and legion vest cause that’s as stylish as he gets by default and I slap the grizzlies coat on top of that with some gloves in the cold
hey bro i’m really into red dead it fr feels like such a legendary moment in history. Thanks for this video brother i appreciate the time you took to make this!!
Thank you kindly. I love this game so much. I feel like I know the characters and the game so well. Yeah, you're right: it does feel like a special moment. For me it's a bit like how I imagine the folks who first saw Star Wars when it came out might have felt.
Randomly stumbled across this channel. And I gotta say I really love the the editing style, insight and production quality of this video. Highly underrated channel. earned a sub! Cheers from Sweden! 🤠
dead eye is the closest we get to being a Western movie protagonists... Just slowmo shooting a guy into the head while fanning the gun a single time is just such a great thing and it makes me feel like I am in a Western everytime I do.
I was watching Joe Kidd the other day staring Clint Eastwood and one of the bad guy posse members is wearing one of the scout jacket outfits from rdr2. I really wish i could find the real scout jacket design. I'd love to own one but my endless searching comes up short.
To me Durch has the exact style and face of powers boothe. Or atleast in deadwood and in tombstone. But dutch his character, the charisma and charm, is something intirely unique, wich i cant trace back to any movie character
I find Arthur Morgan's visual inspiration so poetic: Arthur truly could so easily be considered a forgettable, no-name enforcer for the Van Der Linde gang when you consider during so many of his encounters, he hardly takes the time to introduce himself and even more glaring is how easily everyone seemingly forgets him in the original Red Dead Redemption. I think that more so than anything else is the true meaning of Red Dead Redemption 2: no matter how seemingly insignificant the individual, the possible impact any one of us can have on so many can often be understated.
Loved this vid! Have yet to see The Big Gundown but have it preordered. As you know, I prefer the first RDR and when playing that I lean into the Eastwood look. As to RDR2, I tend not to worry too much about Morgan’s look. The only rule I have is that he should not look like one of those uppity city folk.
Look at a picture off the Wild bunch. They have 1 fancy picture. I dress up Arthur on chapter 3 in Rhodes like a Southerner, and like a City men in chapter 4. Although it's just some fancy pants, old west boots, classic black vest and brown rambler jacket with a red pufftie. Hat is crusher hat or bowler/ derby hat and white shirt.. My Southern look is more than longer Grey coat or the brown shotgun coat with light dirty green classic vest, white shirt, yellow pufftie, white military scout hat and cuffed town pants with whatever boots I have. I buy maybe 10-12 clothing items in total and can make him blend in everywhere.
Josiah Trelawny is probably the 2nd most funny character in the game. his personality, charm and the way he knows how to scam people. he might be more pro at making money than Dutch and Hosea combined. he also is so damn fancy dressed. definitely not a cowboy but a business high society rich person. Josiah for Arthur is what Uncle is for John. same type of charming funny character that will try making jokes and lighted the mood of any given situation with comedy. Javier is also very fancy looking. the only Mexican cowboy in the game before reaching the epilogue and you are finally allowed to travel to New Austin and meet the Del Lobos. the Del Lobos are so amazing looking. and have such funny Mexican accents.
I dress Arthur in 1 of 2 outfits. One is as close as I could get to a photo of my great great great grand father taken in the late 1880s and its more or less what Arthur had on already minus the jacket and I changed his hat to match my grandpas. of course I never met the man but I've always been inspired by him. His name was Jesse Crane and the photo I have of him he is 25 and looks just like me but thinner and with a better mustache. The other is an outfit I based off of Dutch, I figured if I'm gonna be his right hand man I should fit in with what he's wearing.
@@RexHooper1 its funny because everytime i watch that movie i laugh because of that 1 random extra. But now that you mentioned it, yeah who knows how many extras were inspirations for characters
I found that they pretty much have Billy the Kids outfit out of Young Guns; can even do Arthurs hair in a similar fashion... If you can get past playing a older and seriously roided out version of Billy. Also found they got all Rick O'Connells clothes out of The Mummy (minus the shoulder holsters of course). The Arthur O'Connell look actually suits him pretty well.
Best dressed character? I gotta say (outside of Arthur Morgan) Javier Escuella. His sense of dress is enviable as an exiled revolutionary!
I love his poncho that he wears in chapter 2. I wish Arthur could wear a poncho.
@@RandyScott6On pc you can with the mod Why'em DLC
@@Richard-vl6bfcan you wear javier’s poncho with whyems?
Josiah Trelawny.

Love that he dress as the character he's talking about
Thank you for the appreciation. 🤠
For my current play through, I have Arthur dressed as closely as I can to Kurt Russel’s, Wyatt Earp.
There is a charachter from a little movie called 3:10 to yuma that's dutch's bigest inspiration.

Michas look is for sure Charlie Prince from 310 to Yuma that’s right on the money and I think Dutch has a little Ben Wade inspiration as well
I think you're onto something there.
Absolutely! I adore 3:10 to Yuma. Like Rex said, you’re onto something.
The main characters looks being inspired by a background character is quite interesting, I gotta say

I think as well I’d throw in a bit of Barry Pepper from True Grit (remake) into Micah’s inspiration.

Love the content, cowboy! Yeehaw. 🤠🇺🇸💪🏻
Thank you, Rex. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter weekend.
My go to rdo outfit is analogous to what the earp brothers wear at the ok corral in tonbstone
I think Micah‘s fit has more in common with the outfit from the outlaw Joesy Wales
I love the wild bunch, one of my favorite movies of all time
Arthur‘s hat seems to be taken directly from ‚Jeremiah Johnson‘ starring Robert Redford.
A shame we can’t wear a poncho like javier
At least you can have a poncho in red dead online
I always thought michah was ben fosters character archetype exactly. The personality, the dual schofeilds, the double breasted jacket.
To me, i always though Arthur had the same outfit as Brisco Country Jr. Just a thought
Definitely a resemblance!
Great video, i just started getting online. I have mine dressed as jonah hex

My Arthur is a trapper based off Billy Bob thortons role in deadman😂

For Dutch vander linde I would have went with doc Holliday.
That's actually a really good call! Should have thought of that one myself.
I've seen multiple videos of folks dressing Arthur up like Doc hair and all
respect
Me at 9th walkthrough on row:
I still love how the inspiration for him is just some random guy
Yeah, it makes me think what other characters were based on just random extras from old movies?

Hey there partner
So Arthur look came from the man with no name
I like micah bc he reminds me of ben foster from "3:10 to yuma"

I prefer RDR2 but I do think the game would be so much better if you could play as Arthur in New Austin.
