You used better tactics than many real WW1 Generals, well done!
Most ww1 generals used civil war tactics which is one reason ww1 was so deadly tactics didn't have enough time to catch up with technology so obviously appallo used better tactics he knows how to fight off the modern weapons
+Sir William newberry To be fair, the whole reason trenches and the race to the sea developed was to prevent flanking manuevers like this. One of the problems WW1 generals had was figuring out how to fight a war where you can't really flank your opponent and where massive artillery barrages are almost useless.
Ottomans use horses mostly. I dont understand why they put camel riders.
Those were Arab auxiliary troops hired by the Ottomans to help out in the war.

This mod makes cavalry feel so obsolete. I mean in Napoleon the fire rate allowed them to be charged, but now if the unit you're charging into is firing at you, you'll take a ton of casualties. Nice match overall though, glad to see some Ottoman action.
Battle of the Somme? That would be a bloodbath ;)

When the offensing units took the position, they have always lied down and started to dig in. It would be nice if some engeneer units have been added to put barbet wire, to lay mines and dig real trenches right in front the enemy positions as it was in WWI. Trench mortars would be fantastic at the short distances, as they are more rapid-fire.

the western front in france was the standstill you ca totally make some awesome battles on western front like Austria-Hungary and Germany vs massive Russian assault idk just a suggestion. awesome videos

PA you're actually wrong about the battlefield thing. The whole trench warfare desolation thing was a western front thing. Eastern front battles were a lot more like this one.
One think I have learned with the Great War mod is in these battles don't trust the balance of power, any one can win
And people say Total War wouldn't be able to pull off a world war game, this mod is proof of concept at the least.

Right before the Great War the a Ottomans were having their entire military redone by the Germans. This means they trained with a lot of German equipment, and very little of their weaponry and equipment was made by them. Hence why they use a Stahlhelm.

Camels aren't as fast as horses. But, they are smarter and last longer without food and water.
Hey Apollo im just asking in total war when it comes two players should there be a limit or both player have equal number of units. I like the match but how did the other guy get more units than you, does it count on unit cost or unit value? Please explain this to me thanks love the video.

Actually correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that if horses aren’t accustomed to camels then they get frightened by them when charged by camels

Titans Channel My god and you's still stay 'evacuation'. It was a retreat for gods sake. In battle there is no evacuation. There is only offensive and retreat.
Those are french helmets that the imperial guard and trench gunners russian units are wearing? Makes sense since they had an alliance with france since 1892

Great battle, i found it weird to see camels immediately, though turks were part in arabia as well until, well kind of betrayed. Yeah good bloodshow there, in mother russian we do not bleed the enemy... The enemy bleeds you!

There weren't any camels at the Ottoman Army they were riding horses
I’m pretty sure camels are slow...
To be more accurate to WWI, there ought to be much much more artillery. One of the reasons the Great War was a bloody stalemate was because of the immense amount of modern artillery at use. That and the introduction of machine guns. Outdated tactics & strategies against devastating new weapons.

It looked like your units were glitching out. When they just stand around and don't fire that is usually what happened.
