The thing with Pal's Battalions is that, once the unit is wiped out, that often means a village or town has lost its ENTIRE male population. Those formations were first widely introduced in 1916, just in time for the Battle of Somme...so yeah, a LOT Pal's Battalions got wiped out. Thumbs up for Lord Kitchener I guess.
Yeah, it would be tough. Total War is about moving around larger units and directing them across the battlefield. WW I was mostly about sitting in trenches and firing across a strip of torn up soil in between the front lines, sometimes doing a charge. It was a very stationary war.
+George of Azgad Well not really. WW1 was just sitting around filth and rats with the occasional artillery and gas, plane and someone getting shot. More or less the action involved charging to your death, gaining a couple of miles over months.
+Alexandros Triandafillidis the campaign is just so amazingly well done with all those scripted events. i'm learning more from that then i've ever did in all my history classes
Hey PA! I saw you on twitch some days ago and I was very surprised of your hairs and beard( Che Guevera style). I always thought about you like someone whom has a good boy look(like Matpat from Game Theory). I was really surprised. Good work however, you are fantastic!
This battle was very similar to the Third Battle of the Aisne, and it gave me a somewhat general but good idea of how the battle went outside the history books, really interesting.
Finnish jägers are volunteer finns whose goal was to get military training in germany so that they could drive russians out of finland and declare independence. They were secretly trained in germany and fought against russia on eastern front.
Great Video Apollo, but are you going to be doing some of the Classical Medieval 2 Siege Battles anytime soon?i really missed those amazing Classical Siege battles, you know considering Warhammer doesnot has best Siege mechanics...
Seeing the hill and the setup reminds me of the German (Belgium chapters) and American (Italian chapters, specifically the one where you have to take a hill) campaigns of Blitzkrieg 2 Liberation
A good idea for a future battle would be Doiran, in Macedonia. There were two major battles at Doiran, one in 1917 and the other in 1918. This could be interesting because it was between the Entente and the Bulgarian Army, a nation we have not yet seen in this mod and is included in it. 1917's Battle ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Doiran_(1917) ) Was only Britain verses Bulgaria, however the 1918 battle ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Doiran_(1918) ) Was between France, Greece and Britain, against Bulgaria. This can show a good 3v2 battle, with the Bulgarians in defence as historically done, and would be a fairly interesting battle to do as by 1918, the Allied side was slowly running out of artillery in the area due to lack of ammunition and depleted supply lines, and so should be shown with low artillery on the allied side.
Its awesome to see the machine guns being fired telepathically by its crew.
Lmfao
You needed THEM in ww2 HA
That was how they fired them obviously
Super Kawaii Hitler they had force users in the army, that's the obvious reason
Like Nemesis' minigun.

it's haig's fault goddamit
+George of Azgad Lions led by lambs
The problem with Britain was the picking if officers and they needed tactical generals like Foch Pershing or Hindenburg
@@dabossirishman9240
Foch (France)
Hindenburg (Germany)
Pershing (USA)
under 300 club!!11!

18:00 lone Canadian holding off a whole unit, so proud as a Canadian
There should be a ww1 total war game
Total War mechanics cannot depict realisticly WWI warfare.
Yeah, it would be tough. Total War is about moving around larger units and directing them across the battlefield. WW I was mostly about sitting in trenches and firing across a strip of torn up soil in between the front lines, sometimes doing a charge. It was a very stationary war.
+AGH331 Well what about the Eastern Front?
+AGH331 in my opinion if they can add flying units and tanks in warhammer. then they should be able to release a ww1 total war
+George of Azgad Well not really. WW1 was just sitting around filth and rats with the occasional artillery and gas, plane and someone getting shot. More or less the action involved charging to your death, gaining a couple of miles over months.
Even a seven nation army couldn't hold them back
10/10 comment, England,Ireland,Scotland,Wales,Canada,Australia,New Zealand 7 nations
Eyyyy
Well, strictly speaking, Indian and African as well. So the 10 nation army.
Dude you got REKT by a girl
+Nigel Farage Seven plus two equals Nine. Not ten.

War. War never changes.
You are my favourite UA-camr and I hope you like never stop making videos(I know everyone stops at some point)
The attackers had waaay too many artillery units. Damn near impossible.
Now if only there was a WWII mod, or holy crap vietnam. Far-stretched but imagine a modern one.
I came across your channel only a few weeks ago. Now I am a big fan.
Too many tanks and arty on attacking side :D but otherwise it was really good :-) and also, holy shit your channel is blowing up xD
1:40. Also meant entire towns could have their younger generation wiped out which is why the pals were rearranged. Spreading out the losses
