    I loved how every predator that hunts the Lionfish have their own way on how to land the kill blow. Grouper and Sharks aims for the head, Eel and Barracuda aims for the side and Octopus latches it's tentacles carefully around the fish.

      how does grouper eat the lion fish? I feel like it is the only one that has literally no teeth and cant seperate the prey, they swallow their food in whole.

    The Lionfish are an invasive species here in the Gulf and Atlantic. They have contests to capture them off of the reefs in Fl. If you ever get a chance to eat Lionfish by all means do it. Deliscious tender beautiful white meat. Yummy.

      They don't kill enough to prevent them proliferating. One lionfish can lay 5 million eggs a year. There's not enough sharks, eels, or grouper to stem the tide. Man has to do what we do best. Kill. Kill the lionfish.

    Interesting, did the eel survive? Is this Moray from the Atlantic/Mediterranian. If so, It might be the first predator to hunt invasive lionfish. Although not recorded in the wild, and you also mentioned this happened after introduction of new lionfish to the tank, so maybe it was more an attack than a hunt? I am wondering if the Moray didn't get any venom from the spikes..

    • @zarpp9411
      @zarpp9411 3 роки тому +10

      Moray does eat lionfish, also only cause the spikes are toxic it does not mean it kills everything that touches it. Manets have toxic tentacles yet turtles eat them.

      The cycle of life bro. Eat or get eaten. You also eat fish mind you

      @@simsonyee this is not the circle of life "bro", this is an artificial environment created by the video producer to trade suffering or horror - (no one knows for sure what they are feeling, but it is not hard to guess) - for views and likes for a particular audience like you (note the huge euphemism for youtube language restrictions) and fill HIS pockets..., the fish have no chance to defend themselves or escape like in nature, only watch the predation of their peers and wait their turn.
      This has nothing to do with the circle of life or me eating fish because I'm hungry.

      Not cruel, had nothing to do with it. The eel just decided to start eating lionfish

      @@tazzfelde well those fish aren’t meant for feeders and that would cost like 60 you should sell them and make more money and your lucky cause I live in Ohio so can’t catch fish

      @@AppliedPoem they are cheap because they are invasive- they lay 5 million eggs a year (around that anyway) and have no natural predators- only things like morays and sharks can tolerate them. It would be better if lionfish were extinct because they eat about their body weight per day, they are habitat destroyers and all around bad

    Starving your eel so it can kill your beautiful lion fish? There’s better ways to feed your fish. Smh.

    • @tazzfelde
      @tazzfelde  2 роки тому

      Yep it is actually. It proves that native species here in the Gulf of Mexico are beginning to eat lionfish. Lionfish are extremely invasive and are wreaking havoc on local species of fish which had a huge negative impact on our local fisheries ... So yeah it's pretty cool!
