Ran into this guy at a restaurant in my hometown a few weeks ago. He wasn’t even playing a show there that day, just passing through. Shook hands with the dude playing rhythm guitar in this video.
Took my son and his friend to see Wand. Tiny little bar in Detroit. Cory and Evan were so cool. Hung out with my son and his friend. Answered gear questions. Took photos. Great musicians and really cool dudes. Made two 18 year olds decade!🤘🏻
Been following Cory Hanson's music since I was in early high school 2014 during the Wand Ganglion Reef album / tour, I can't believe how far he has accomplished in music with his friends. My favorite band that is still alive. Very proud to be fan today.
He is simply the best songwriter on the planet at the moment for me. Both Wand and solo work is out of this world. Don't believe me check out Angeles from his album pale horse rider. Genius. Lucky enough to have seen Wand twice in London and can't wait until he tours back over in the UK as solo artist. So underated.
This is great stuff! I love that so many younger players gravitate towards Fender. It makes old guys like me feel like we are still 'with it' when we pick up our Strats and Teles lol.
Has to be my favorite song writer, vocalist and guitar player. I grew up listening to Wand. When I bought my jazz master I wanted to get the Troy Van signature model for the longest time and then I saw a video of Cory playing one and then it all made sense. My favorite fender guitar by far. But Cory has clearly leveled up his jazz master since then 😅
Been a Wand fan for many years now and am lucky to have seen them live several times. Have to say I have never seen Cory without his Tobacco Sunburst Jazzmaster and Mesa Boogie Mark II combo amp. Let's see if he is rocking this combo next week in LA
Cory rules, wand rule, strats rule, fender rules..... Must admit my strats wiggle stick has been off for years and I use my hands for vibrato. Good vid. 👌
got lucky to chat with corey at Zebulon. he’s at the forefront of quality and energy- headed to re-record my album and listening to him and his band made me change my approach completely. so lucky have stumbled on him!

Good for you Corey! I hope this exposure sells you a bunch of records and makes you some new, lifelong fans. 🤜 thanks for keeping rock n roll around for a bit longer.
Sounds like the derelict children of Stephen Malkmus and Television. Really, really good. I must be unwittingly under a rock to not have already heard of these guys. Awesome.
Wonder why he turned into a hard rocker. A sweet, clean cut kid with a sweet voice become a hard rocker!!!! Why the change? When someone change their mood--seems something changed along the way in their lives
@patriciayomes8800 he has been playing heavy riffs with wand since the beginning. it's just rock and roll, it's okay! don't be afraid of the funny papers ;) ...
I was hoping but this is just a video of every sound a fender can make that u wish u would never hear like seriously how can u havd that many fenders covering the same thin crap in the mix good luck just not for me

So nostalgic reading this, I resonated so hard
Thank you for introducing me to this awesome lad just now.
So sick, the album rules too
Corey is one of the best, glad he is getting the recognition, a true artist!
Saw Cory Hanson with Ty Segall in 2014 and never heard of him before then. What a supremely talented dude.
This guy is a true artist. And he’s a nice guy, he signed my album after a concert without hesitation and really inspired me that night.

Wholeheartedly agree

Love Wand to death it is weird seeing him play a Strat instead of a JM lol
Sounds great! So fiery! Love the use of the whammy!

Fender says it all.👍
Sick, thanks Cory!

As a Strat player with a removed “wiggle stick”, I assure you it’s for a good reason:
I prefer to play guitar more than I tune.
There’s a bit of a Rory Gallagher influence in this guys playing!
This has a total Hendrix “If 6 was 9” vibe

Wow that's such a vibe and Corey looks hot!
Luv his band, Wand!
2:38 the subtitles read "Nyquil syrup rocks" lol. The actual lyric is "The lake was a mirage." Somebody at fender trolling.
Very good music player very good he can be the next van halan

family The hansons.
This rips. Just bought Western Cum and I'm a fan.
Loved the part where the Strat and the Tele were having a conversation and the people were not as involved in it as you may think.

Love how after he plays with the "wiggle stick" he immediately has to re-tune 😂
Slap a Floyd Rose on it! 🤣😂
What did fender do to Cory Hanson strat tremolo system to make it stay in tune?
good for him
Can we just take a minute for the drummer.
Strato & Tele completes themselves

I don’t find his music to be that interesting
His solo stuff is really great but Wand might be a bit more experimental/interesting. Both cool.
Too noisy,.. you cross the line between being "experimental" and using the guitar to make noises
You don’t like noise?
That’s so boring lmao
Psychedelic noisy shit is the way
He has a lot of noise rock out there, so makes sense
Dawg guitars are literally made to create noise
Music is noise, hate to break it to you….
