Four landed in great clouds of dust in the dry tropical red dirt and uploaded some blokes with lots of kit. Back and forth for a fortnight I hear.

I think it was the Black Sheep SQN back on 4 July 1986 that LCPL Howard Foote, an aircraft mechanic, stole an A-4M Skyhawk and took it for a joyride and landed it safely.

The Title of the Video may have over exaggerated things somewhat. However VFMA 214 of the USMC became Widely known here in the States back in the late 1970's due to a Television Series called Baa Baa Black Sheep starring Robert Conrad. It was based on the Story of USMC Major Greg (Pappy) Boyington and squadron's exploits in the South Pacific during the war. I doubt many Americans even know about the Black Sheep or Boyington unlike the UK where 617 Squadron is Revered and Well known for their daring missions during the War. So Yes I would say that 617 Squadron Dam busters is Famous. Yes UK citizens Not all we Americans are Ignorant to the RAF's Heroic Actions during WW2👍!
