I am a shoe repairer myself. Third generation in fact. I appreciate the level of craftsmanship that you put in every resole. Before watching your videos I never saw a slip-sole bonded and McKay stitched together before adhering and stitching. I assume this eliminates any movement between the slip-sole and sole thus there is little chance of separation with extended wear and exposure to the elements. Between the bonding, stitching, copper rivets, and strategically placed nails the two literally become one piece much more impervious to expansion and contraction of the two dissimilar pieces of the sole as well as less likely to allow exposure to water to lessen the bond between these. This brings me to your sole as well as brand of "Role Club". I assume you have your soles custom manufactured as I've never seen this sole and brand available from any of the remaining shoe finding jobbers? I have learned by watching you some different ways to do a resole like bonding the slip-sole to the outsole prior to bonding and stitching to the footwear. You do great work.

@@memyselfandi6422clearly it’s not or else this video wouldn’t exist.
You’re just a blind fanboy. It’s a known fact the soles wear down incredibly fast compared to the older quality and the material they use now is known to be less grippy. If you fanboys are gonna get so passionate about a shoe than you should grow up and start bitching at the company that decided to cut corners. The day the soles wear down on mine I’m sending them to a get a proper sole.
And people like you can drown in your own tears while you cry about it.

    Artisan...
Love the “naturality”, the openness, honesty, no trickery with the camera, technique... just what you do everyday. That’s what made me subscribe- the prof that you like this and respect your job/shoes/people you interact with is in your eyes, in the way you carry yourself in front of the camera, us.
By the way- great selection of music, not trying to convey something not going on on the screen, just very good match! So many channels take away from the video/message with “not matching” music, your channel- a joy to watch EVERY TIME!

I have never liked the looks of Docs because of the blown rubber sole. They always looked like a shoe a person would wear in their teen years, and grow out of when they hit adulthood.

@Alexandros K Yeah but if you've ever worn Doc's for work you'll know that the 'Airwear' soles, while very comfortable, will usually wear out long before the rest of the boots, much like the soft rubber soles on Redwings. The point of this conversion is that once done the rubber sole and heel can be easily replaced by almost any repair shop. Those boots, as they are now, could potentially last a lifetime if taken care of.

Absolutely agree. Still a fairly "low end" cheaper work boot with smooth leather not the good stuff but Solovair is the original. They are what they are and are relatively inexpensive.

Absolutely true. I have a pair of solovairs in gaucho leather and they are amazing. Also, they are truly Goodyear Welted.

Never really liked Doc Martens, but you give those bastards a new rugged look, the Martens sole is what doesn't like me and you make my dreams come true, great job Brian...

I'm amazed by the glue you use.
It looks like it could hold just about anything together.

Hey Brian, it would be nice if we could see the full line-up of your boots. All I see on Role Club website is your Engineer Boots and Lace-Up boots.
I get it that you can select what boots you want in the "Boot Inquiry Form". But it would be better if you have some images of your Under Dogs, Chukka, Townsman's etc etc.
I love boots. Had a Doc Martens myself. Red Wing IR was my 1st best boots right now. Currently waiting for my Nicks to be built.
Looking forward to getting your Under Dog next.
