Saw a documentary on Rick clunn once. Said when he first started fishing tournaments he would stick around after tournament and learn the area where tournament was won. It was only thing I remembered from documentary. This was a great video!
I guide on the chain. That area is insane leading up to the spawn and shortly after the spawn. Albeit the marsh has a bunch of residential fish there is still a ton of fish that move in from the lake into the marsh for the spawn and back out after. In addition there is some really good bottom in the area the anglers where catching them with isolated patches of grass. That plus that particular area receives current both from the marsh and Haines creek. With that being said there some other areas that set up almost identical in Griffen that are often over looked. One being outside the entrance to the marsh SOUTH of Haines creek as well as the offshore grass in the south east corner of the lake. Check out cmap composition layer and you will see very few areas with good bottom and grass. This may help you understand what happened. Thanks so much for sharing your one of my favorite channels on the net and Ive gained so much in so little time from your content. I wish it would have gone different for you.
I always appreciate these videos. It’s refreshing to see a professional talk about the good, the bad and the ugly. Chickamagua should be a great tournament!
As a Florida fisherman i can understand your frustration and i can appreciate you sharing your struggles as well as your success’s. Keep up the fantastic work and videos. Again thank you and good luck.
Love that advice you give to high school anglers. I too was a boat captain for my daughter’s high school fishing team. Can’t tell you how many times I encouraged them to keep working hard and keep making good casts because you just never know when a good bass is going to bite. They call me “one more cast Joe” for a reason 😂. Sorry you had a rough tournament by I agree with you that there had to be other bass groups out there on that Kissimmee grass flats. Good luck in your next tournament. We really enjoy your breakdowns of your tournaments. The good, the bad and the ugly
Keep up the good work. Keep learning and passing on what you learn. Helps us weekend guys out. Haha. Oklahoma Fishing Trail Guide will be available very soon.
I’ve been through what you went through in my last tournament on Harris. I ran to Griffin. You have to find the greenest, crispy, healthiest grass. And the pontoon boats there are terrible lol. Bass boats are like a honing beacons
Last point of video a good one. Don’t slack off. Buddy rackin the trollin motor the other night. We gotta go to weigh in with 4 fish. I made one more cast snd caught our 5th keeper. Put us in 3rd place and a check. Fish til it’s time to stop!
Tough Derb!! You’ll be back at em no doubt about it! I would have been tempted to go check out the area that was so productive to see what may have been the difference structure wise. On to the next one, Good Luck and keep smiling!! It was a Great vets memorial parade in Oolagah on Saturday.
I fished Harris Chain tournaments a lot in the late 90s to about 2010 and Griffin will break your heart more times than not. Emerald has been opened up since 2005 or 06, right before Lowen lost his 10lb lead to McClelland. He flipped Emerald for 3 days. The only good thing that ever came from the Harris Chain is that first spot you practiced on the first day is where I invented the Chicken Rig during a BASS Federation Nation State Qualifier in 2007 when that Kissimmee Grass Bed was much thicker. May 2008 issue of BassMaster Magazine, pg14, Alton Jones on the cover. That rig got me a spot in the regionals later that fall on Toho. True! Anyways, enjoy your E Series and tournament recaps, keep up the good work and you'll smoke'm soon!!! God bless!!!
Hate that you had a bad tournament, but it makes me feel a little bit better about all the times I went out and had rough days on the lake. I've often wondered if I haven't missed the fish by only a little bit despite fishing my heart out. Keep grinding away on em' Edwin 🎣
Cannot beat yourself up, we all have those days! Gotta stay positive in all aspects! Should have been groups of fish in that area. Definitely enjoy the videos. On to Chickamaugua with a vengeance! Best of luck!
Hey Edwin u did ur Best and went with ur gut feeling . I think the answer to your question is possibly that the bottom was shell bottom and that could have probably made the difference of why they were not stacked up in there. Keep the Faith. Chico 🐟
Such a great tip fish hard at the end of the day as you do at the first. I have a 9 year boy who follows this and tells me this while we are fishing. Great advice.
Great video, so awesome, that you share this knowledge with everyone. Even if you don’t fish tournaments and are just fishing for fun. It’s great that your willing to share it with people! Thanks, keep up the great videos! Don’t sweat Griffin;)
I fish that chain all the time sometimes on that grass in griffin for me is catch a few in a location then it will seem like randoms here then there . Now I have been trying to fish the Kissimmee grass on the other lakes and I have been doing better quality fish than the randoms at least I think you will always catch more through out the day good luck on next one !!!
Definetly dont take it personal. Im a local, this year has been rough on everyone. There is a lot of debate on reasons, change of weather ex. Record heat, many blame the water management and those spraying for hydrylla but going a little overboard. The reason is debatable but the fishing is hard. But people who fish how you do are the ones who sink into the big girls. You just have to cover as much water as you can and through out the chains thats a lot of water. If you're ever back down I'm off the E channel on the west shore of Lake Eustis. Respond to this ill throw you some of the rubber we "I" use and specific lures
Everyone seems to use the jackhammer and I dialed back to the original and another brand and seem to do better. But there are times they won't give it the time of day. Swimming worms are my favorite at Griffith
I live near the harris chain. My least favorite lake is griffin. That lake will make you think you should stop fishing and re evaluate your life decisions! Lol
Sure you've heard the saying have to give you an E for effort for you gave it your best ! Your right you have to keep fishing hard till the end of the day.
Yes, it’s hard bottom. On the huge hydrilla flats here in Florida you have to find that hard bottom. As you said, it all looks the same but as you know, it’s not
Ya know, I don’t think it’s a place I would give up on per say, if I know it’s a productive area and I am not catching then I’m moving, listen to yourself, if I am to fail then like you said, fish as hard as you can and bring home a lesson if you bring home nothing else.
Don’t feel like you’re boring us with this type of video cause I think I learn WAY more from these than I do a video where you just smash them. For me the thought and decision process is where it’s at. I can watch another channel if I want to see a weeks worth of fishing cut together to look like an hour of good fishing lol.
my mom was pregnant with me and her and dad was doin alittle outlaw bass fishing and seen someone driving up so they tore out running !A warden delivered me in a Barb wire fence...... then wrote me my first trespassing ticket #bornabassfishin
Welcome to the Harris Chain! Think you've got em figured out and Wham! Thanks for your insight.

Great meeting you there EE and thank you very much for autographing my old copy of The Bass Pros DVD that has you on the cover!!!
Great video E ! You thought outside the box , you refused to lose can't ask more than that. Keep moving forward .
You nailed it. Thanks for watch Jamie!

I am going to a lake or lakes like the Harris chain. Now I know what to kinda do and not to do. Thanks for this video!
Awesome, glad it was helpful!!
Thanks for sharing it is so hard not to get tunnel vision on history but I have done exactly what you did
Enjoyed
Don't feel bad, you got "Griffined". Fish Harris Chain all the time and have gotten "Griffined" several times over the years....love your videos!!!
I'm glad to know i'm not the only one!!
I got Griffined quite a bit myself. Lol
Ive been “Griffined” yesterday lol
Keep up the good work. Keep learning and passing on what you learn. Helps us weekend guys out. Haha. Oklahoma Fishing Trail Guide will be available very soon.

We all have those days. Thanks for all the good advice for the high school tournament anglers!
You're the man Edwin no matter what! You're a champion and a winner and winners never quit and quitters never win!
Next time!
If I sat my 201 pro down like that, everyone in the boat would be swimming. Lol. Man they have came a long way with boats since mine was built in 99.
They just keep getting better!
Good luck on chickamauga!!! I fished it once on vacation and love it as always thanks for the tips and videos.

Tough day of fishing. Was pulling for you

God I love the videos sir! I wish I could become a professional angler like yourself! So inspired! ❤️
Thank you for watching Deacn as always!
Im glad to see someone tell it like it happens

Tuff one Edwin! Great content as usual Thanx for Posting!!!
Great effort Edwin, you will hammer them at the next one, good luck.

I’m not sure for you don’t have more subs. I learn a ton from your videos. As a deep water angler here in Tennessee, the canal runs make me nervous!
Everyone seems to use the jackhammer and I dialed back to the original and another brand and seem to do better. But there are times they won't give it the time of day. Swimming worms are my favorite at Griffith
Never give up! Never surrender!
Good vid. Thanks for the info - enjoy your information ✨😇💪🏻🐶🧘♀️✨

I'm a big fan, and I love your videos. Is there a way for us regular guys to get the chance to fish with you?
Harris chain you have to be blessed by the swamp goku spirit to get the girls
One thing about bass tournament’s. We all know someone’s gonna figure the fish out. Then they win. It happens every tournament.
Have you ever fished skiatook lake, Oklahoma? If so, any tips ?😂
Great video
Did you try black and blue speedworm or senko? Florida bass gorge on them in almost every body of water like it's a state law or something. 🤣
You already talked about that pontoon, but how about that boat at full speed on day one?
I fished it twice. And that how many fish I caught lol
I live on Lake Griffin, it holds some monsters..
😉

Am on my way
Fish move alot of there ive found its figuring how far off the shore they are rather than what kind of cover they are on
my mom was pregnant with me and her and dad was doin alittle outlaw bass fishing and seen someone driving up so they tore out running !A warden delivered me in a Barb wire fence...... then wrote me my first trespassing ticket
#bornabassfishin
Could you checked it out at the end of first day tournament
"Emerald" Marsh??
Nothing of that name there.
I live on The Harris Chain.
Revisit that name.
you hire me to come practice with you, and between the two of us bet we could find you money patterns
Do your best thats the best a man can do. Next time!
Hey Yo E! Would you like to sponsor a Oklahoma Native bass angler?
I’ll say this.....
Your wife write has GREAT taste in the shoes she buys you!!!!! And no..... I don’t have a foot fetish.... lol.
Wolf packes
If there is one thing I have learned about professional anglers they are stubborn.
U let your mind override your gut feeling which is god's feeling and it will bite u everytime
