Whishlisted, i hope it lives up to my expectations. I played several text adventures back in the day, it would be fun if it looks similar as it did in my mind's eye.
The graphics could use a little extra shine to them, especially if there is going to be PS5/Series X versions. But I am glad to see more of this game. VR ought to be neat, will it work with PSVR2?
One of our team members (Amber) is charged with lighting. When we play the game during development it is with whatever lighting the programmer threw in. Before release Amber will make a full pass of the game putting in lighting to create various moods depending on where you are in the game. The right lighting makes a huge difference.
Definitely the kind of game that would be enhanced greatly by VR, where it’s much more immersive and the focus on graphics isn’t as prominent as it is on console and PC. I’d love to play it on the PSVR2 if there’s any chance of that. Happy that Roberta and Ken are back and making video games and I truly hope that they grow beyond this game and continue to make more. I really want to see what a modern version of a game like The Colonel’s Bequest could do in this era, solving mysteries and perhaps using procedural systems so the murderer is different each time and it truly relies on what you witness and your ability to gather clues and deduce who it is and still have a ton of replayability afterwards.
The cave lends itself perfectly to this game. As to Colonel's Bequest, Roberta has said several times that if she does another game, Colonel's Bequest would be at the top of her list. (assuming we could get the rights)
@@colossalcave I just preordered the PSVR2 today (if there’s any chance of this coming to the PS5’s new VR headset - I don’t own a PC or Quest 2, sadly). I have been thinking of what a modern Sierra game would look like with each new console generation and I’d really love to see what you could accomplish with a full team and an AAA budget. I would think that if the Activision/Blizzard acquisition goes through at Microsoft, XBOX will be very interested in looking at a lot of their long-dormant IP to re-introduce as a means of developing a continuous stream of content for GamePass subscribers. With your leadership and design and narrative goals, they could pair you up with an existing studio looking for a project as well. A Laura Bow game now, with procedural generation and the quality of AI and game engines these days, could easily mean that every time you start the game over, that the victims could be found in different locations, murdered by different methods, with various clues redistributed and making it possible that every single cast member is a possible murderer. Each time you play the game, it could be a completely new experience and one that would be unique to you due to the unlikelihood that anyone else experiences those same variables of finding clues, bodies, victims, the murderer’s identity, the dialogue choices you choose, whether or not you can convince a person of something or change their mind, etc. You could also make a Laura Bow VR game in the style of social deduction party games like Werewolf and Among Us. Ubisoft made one called Werewolves Within where each person is tasked with a role, has specific information, and due to the nature of VR you’re transported to Transylvania circled around the campfire next to a wagon with all of the characters lip synced to match your speech. Another example of what’s possible is a VR game called The Invisible Hours - it’s almost like a play, in which all of the events take place on a set schedule where you can find the characters in specific locations and interacting with each other or engaging in activity that you can spy on and learn things about their motives. You can only be in one place at a time obviously, so your first playthrough is determined by where you choose to spend your time and who you listen to or observe, and then you can adjust the clock on later playthroughs to experience all there is to offer. Oh, and I should mention that there’s a mystery and a murder involving Tesla and Edison on an island in the middle of a storm. ua-cam.com/video/vMWt3jgFMpc/v-deo.html Apologies for the wall of text. I hope that you explore some of the most revered games of the past few decades to see how influential the two of you were and continue to be in the art of storytelling in video games, and I would love to see you have the opportunity to make something that sets the pace for the industry the way you did with your point-and-click adventures in the golden days of Sierra. Now with branching dialogue systems, multiple ending paths, potential relationships with the cast, and other innovations that allow you to enjoy “your story” more than ever before, I really think now is the perfect time for the two of you to return and set the industry ablaze with some fresh ideas.
Me to I hope it comes out for the Psvr and for the Mac computer, I do miss the old kings quest series. I wish I could play Mask Of Eternity on my I-Mac , I spent hours playing that game and loved every minute of it.
Did my middle aged eyes deceive me? Also available for PS5/XBox Series? I completely understand if these will be released after PC/Switch, but what a great early Christmas present this find was! Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Williams. Have a great Thanksgiving, from across the Pond.
Bringing the first adventure game to a new generation is great.
Looking forward to checking out!
I've been waiting for this! Thank you! ♥
The art direction looks spot-on and fitting. And the whole thing screams fun! 🌞✨⭐️
looks great, way to go Roberta & Ken & team!!
Thank you! - Ken W
This looks amazing, Ken and Roberta! Great work!
On my wishlist!
I just bought Meta Quest 2 on Black Friday. Can't wait for a VR version of this game!
You won't need to wait long.
Wishlisted!! Can't wait to play it. I enjoy anything and everything that Ken and Roberta create.

I will get it when there is a DRM-free physical copy for the PC / Windows.
good luck on that one
You should ask the guys over at Limited Run Games to see if they're interested.
Would be a good fit for GOG, since Roberta Williams' games are all on there

So excited for this game. But what is the release date? Glad to have both Ken and Roberta back.
We will announce the release date soon. I don't want to spoil the surprise. - Ken W
@@colossalcave It was worth the wait! It's awesome seeing you at TGA.

Will there be an official hint book with a "red tint" viewer? 😝

This classic game is begging for a VR version....
There will be a version for Meta Quest 2!
@@esteban9115 PC VR , please
I don’t think, based on the graphics, there will be a huge difference between Meta Quest 2 and a PC version.
@@scottm8285 But there are people who don't have Quest, but PC VR... (me)

A game from 1976 remade in 2023 that looks like it was made in 2001. OK.
