@@jovicaduro7204 Thats how it should be done....this series is aimed at people who for some reason are uncomfortable creating tactics or simply don't understand how to do it. This way this gives them a platform from which to understand how it's done. As a beginner a long time ago I had no idea what I was doing. I needed the help then
I understand the idea of tweaking the tactic as you go along. The very first time I played Championship manager, I tweaked my tactic according to the opponent before and during the match. Before the match I would set up the positions of the players according to the opposition. During the match I tweak the tactic in terms of high line, tempo and width. The game gave me the nickname of The Tinkerer. In Football manager what I've seen becoming the norm is players will download a tactic and then acquiring or developing players to fit that tactic. Players have increasingly become obsessed with winning at all cost, instead of enjoying the journey and collecting the memories.
That is a very good point....I miss the days when I was called the tinkerer lol. I think it's important to try to develop your own style of play...that makes the success you get all the sweeter.
I have just discovered your videos. I have watched a few on defending and creating tactics and find them very helpful. I am in the Chilean league after starting my save, unemployed. After getting my team promoted from the 2nd decision in my 1st season. I narrowly missed out on winning the 1st decision in my 3rd season. This was due to a lack of goals toward the end of the season. Thank you for your help. Hopefully, using what you have taught me I will be able to win the league this time around.
Thank you for you feedback and happy that you found it helpful.....Good luck with the title challenge in Chili. I am currently in Brazil with Coritiba hoping to win the Copa libertadoras in the coming season....will be doing that one live on UA-cam starting next week. Anything could happen lol
I'm crying :D It's my 2nd season in the Jupiter Pro League. After only 2 wins out of 13 games, i've tried your approach. First game with the tweaks and i'm up 4-0 after 30 minutes.
It is always good to hear that something works for someone. This makes what I do seem worthwhile...thank you so much for your kind words. You would help the channel reach more people if you you would take a moment to share your joy among your friends who play the game and on your FM groups and forums that you might visit. That would really make me happy. Once again thank you
Greetings, I'm from Serbia and I follow your work in the manager. Even though I have been playing as a manager for a long time, you have helped me in a lot of things. Normally I never comment on clips, but I have to because you do a great job. Greeting !
Really good this. Wish you and your channel well as you expand. Have a look at adding chapters to your videos so people can navigate to the bit they want easily. It's a game changer for viewer experience and will likely spike your subscriber numbers if people find the videos easy to use. Keep going and thank you.
Hi Old Man Phil, First time watcher here really glad I found you on youtube you have a very pleasant style my compliments! For goals what I see in your tactic is u are using a shorter passing with low tempo witch is a possesion style system. I would suggest upping the tempo to fast and when missing a lot of chances move it to standard. For time wasting would only use it in the second half when a goal or more ahead. Offcourse when moving to a faster style of passing an attacking mentality would be more suited than a positive one. Against stronger or even squads especially when playing away a standard mentality is recommended. But still higher tempo with short passing would do wonders. Overall possesion style is harder to pull off with worse players, its easier with lower teams to focus on physical attributes and make us of it with a faster passing style. Also when upping to a faster style have a look if no medicore player really drops in passing completion if so you can just setup some instructions for the player to take less risks. Most of the time its a winger or fullback.
First thank you for your kind feedback...and I know what you are saying...Its something that is strange with the game and possibly with how it is set up. A lot of people are now having real success with this way of playing. I have tried previously higher tempo and more direct passing...never worked which led me here to this way of playing. Cannot stop winning now and others have tried it and it works well. As the team improves and their attributes improve then it is possible to zip the ball around at a higher tempo. It's also something I can call on when things are not going well. I understand what you are saying and it would normally make sense. I'm sticking with this though while it's working.
@@akkermanrik I use this method with Notts co in the live stream...won league 2 easily then had no money for transfers...still we are top of the league in league 1 now romping away with it again. We are a team expected to avoid relegation...last night we were all stunned when we beat Middlesbro in the FA cup. This system seems to work...I'm not sure but it seems to be because we take no risks whatsoever. No matter what team we always end up best defensive team in the league. It's strange but they might do a patch if its broken. Until then...i found it and I'm gonna keep using it lol

Really good video mate very useful. Do you ever try and counter specific roles for example if the opposition plays a IWB and BWM on one side they will likely be pulled out of position so play a winger on the same to take advantage of this.
Sometimes but not as often as I should. Before UA-cam I would spend a lot of time preparing for a single game. Unfortunately now though don't really have the time. Try to find quick ways for match set up.

hi phil i have a question, i manage to change club mid season and what if my team stats is the lowest in the league? what do i do to make them compete against the stronger team? whats the best thing to do because if i saw your Watford there's still some of your stats is average or above the average but my team (Union Berlin) mostly below the average, do i need new good players:?
This is a difficult situation you find yourself in. The key to it is survival. It sounds like you might be in for a good relegation scrap. Defend for your lives and hope to grind out results. Aim to get to next window as best you can then begin putting it right. Without seeing the squad it sounds like you are in for a rough ride....hopefully not too rough!
One hint, i have noticed that during the season you may come across a team that FM has set up with some sort of bonus and no matter what you do, that team will play better than you. Drawing that game is the best result you can achieve. This team could be very low in the table. Knowing what to change during that game is the key to not losing.
Absolutely.....I make that point a lot....In a bad patch it is really important that you don't lose the next couple of games. Don't have to win them...just don't lose them
Thank you guys for supporting the channel....Really appreciate it!
