How about the concept of being 6"4 260 lbs of athletic muscle?

      I got you.
Be technical. If you're using size and strength with casual training partners, your jiu-jitsu will suffer.
I roll with an extremely strong 6'3" guy half my age. He doesn't rip out of bad situations he gets in... he doesn't just Hulk Smash... this is because he wants to be good, not just win. Oss.
(He literally can just pick me up and throw me, lol)

I'm not massive. Im 6'1 at 225lbs and pretty lean but I'm very strong for my size. Been strength training for 20year. At 38 Years old now I can yell You that using my power the whole time is bad for my Jiu Jitsu. It gasses me very quickly and smaller more skilled guys still tap me like a drum. I'm slowly learning the skills and trying to rely on mu power that much. I'm a blue belt now. I went to a new gym in Dubai last week Friday for the first time and everyone that I rolled with commented on my power. But still half of them tapped me easy.

I always loved talking about this side of development. Technical, tactical, physical, and mental. The four pillars of development. The mental I feel is hugely underdeveloped.

@Seaneskatejitsu Yeah, for me I have to experience in 3d. Watching a video, then live sparring, isn't easy for me.
Point being, I am glad you are training.
How does rank play out (if you gi)?

Ngl guys like you usually suck and get people hurt. But better than nothing and if you’re not a dbag it usually works out but I feel like this type of training takes a lot longer but if you keep a higher belt around at least they can prob show you what you study on the interwebz better than trying to break it down yourself

For the record, unless you're Eddy Gordo or Lei Wulong, you can't button mash successfully in Tekken.
