She's 52 here, OMG - stunning!!
Unreal. I would never had known. She’s gorgeous.
She is stunning. I had no idea. 52?! Stunning. ❤
She was pretty hot, and better a huge Laker fan.
A honey bear.
She was stunning and she knew she had quite the set and felt it was worth showing/flaunting them in this national TV appearance. It said a lot about who she really was as a private person rather than her stage persona which was a girl-next-door type. Lore has it that she loved her trysts and between the sheets play, and obviously she had a bountiful bosom to charm a man off his feet. I wonder what size she was back then, and I bet my last Andrew Jackson that her pair were natural, not enhanced.
I enjoy the slower pace of conversation. So natural and calming.
Is it really that slow? Loll there simply talking at a normal human pace
I had the same thought. Less frenetic; It was more like people taking turns at the switch of model railroad than a game of rapid-fire word association. Most enjoyable.
Wow! 52 years old and gorgeous!
Johnny's suit is pure seventies, bold and out there, wide collared shirt and huge wide tie. What great times those days were. I was twenty years old when this was aired and I still miss those wonderful years. I always loved Johnny's shows he was the best.
His suit looks like a couch my grandmother use to have.
@@williamclarke2020 She had a grovie couch!
Its just a personal opinion but Ol' Doris sure seems like shez got a chip on her shoulder. She was incredibly vain -- infamously Vain...to the point she insisted on having " soft focus " used in her movies beginning around the sixties ( check out some of her 1960s flicks). But I've GOT to say she handled the air - head Carol Wayne with the utmost class.....!
Doris looking fabulous & love the outfit colour & design. Doris a beautiful lady actress & singer 😊
Doris is sporting a beautiful set and you are talking about Johnny's suit???
Can you imagine having to look at these 2 guests in the eyes?! Love it!!
Who's the airhead sitting next to Doris Day?
Carol Wayne..?
@@randyprenat6080 thanks
@@Silas.Marner Carol Wayne was a side kick for Johnnie. She drowned in Mexico and may have been murdered.
@@kookietherapy9398 that's horrible
She looks awesome! 😍 I would have had trouble concentrating! Johnny was a true pro!
yeah it looked a little chilly in there.
I have always loved Doris Day. My favorite actress EVER!
Mine as well
She sounded like a wacko
She was a great lady. I was a big fan of hers. Loved his show. She was a great mom. It’s too bad she had only one child but she found many in her animals.
Her husband (just before his sudden death) was complaining about the fact that the animals had a higher level of importance in the house than anything else. Animal hoarding is typically a psychological response to some level of emotional trauma someone has endured. Doris had in fact dealt with significant events in her life. While she had a brave face publicly, some believe the hoarding was her way of coping privately. Setting up a foundation for an animal shelter was a way for her to finally offload her collection.
Doris was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
Missing my grandmother tonight. “Her generation”. She LOVED Doris day. I guess that’s why I’m such a fan! Love the Carson show!
A real STAR with tons of class.
She never looked better! Wowzers ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
She had a REALLY nice voice and her style fit her era like a glove.
One of the greats who is not spoken about enough. One of the great real strong women of cinema.
More of Doris, please! 🌼
Unfortunately she died in 2019.
@@robinholbrook6576
I'll never forget that day. 💔
@@karenleemallonee684 You will never forget the day she died? Why is that??
@@robinholbrook6576 I
Doris had been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl & watched my first D.D. movie! I wanted to become just like her, of course I could never come close!
She had just had a birthday a couple of weeks before (or so). I lost it when I had heard she had passed, she truly meant a lot to me!
She lived such a long, lovely life, she had her share of heart breaking sorrows, but kept moving forward!! She was my personal hero!!!
Doris Day.. 💐
Beautiful...Elegant...Gracious...Lady !!!
I can not believe I’m watching Doris Day on the Johnny Carson Show❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
When I was 8 I would get out of bed I watch the Johnny Carson show through the crack of the door well my parents were watching TV. I got hooked on his show. He is the best late night talk show host. I still watch Doris Day movies. She was the best.❤
Good gracious! Headlights are on bright! lol
😮
I’m sure she was shocked when she saw the tape. 😮
@@gretaklug naaawww, she wasn't! 🤣
When she asked WHERE ARE YOU LOOKING? I thought she caught him!
Just saw this rerun on tv. Had to find this clip (was easy 'Doris Day t*ts') to comment publicly. She's was gorgeous in this interview! I'm a young GAY man and I would switch teams for a night for her.
a Lady with remarkable Talent and a mazing Voice whenever she sang and also one Hell of an actress!!!!
I remember this one! My husband kept saying how cold the studio must have been.😮
Haaaah! (She knew exactly what she was doing... just like Anne Margaret, when she appeared on the show with the twins.)
😂
That's what I thought.. it was for PR.
Maybe she was just happy to see Johnny...
lol - the headlights - what a body!
She was extraordinary and the work she did for the humane treatment of animals was ahead of its time. ❤️
What a fine set. Lovely lady, she is missed.
Incredibly stunning lady and wonderful singer! Her swing time era music is outstanding. My favorite lady singer of that time.
And to think she was 52 in this appearance. Stunning.
Oh my goodness gracious the head lights are super bright!
Absolutely Beautiful and really talented 🎶🎤🎥🔥🔥🔥👏👍❣️
The One and Only Doris Day.... God She was Absolutely Stunningly Beautiful and Amazingly Talented So Real She is One of My All Time Favorites... R.I.P. Angel 💖💖
She didn't have it easy either, her first husband was abusive but she never complained and always smiled... She's a strong woman.
The way that she brings Jimmy Zito into the conversation is so gracious and sweet.
Doris is definitely embracing the au-naturale 70s!
Perve
@@20alphabetyes Jonny was
The nips were what I noticed in the Thumbnail 😂🤣😂🤣
Fo sure the headlights are beaming😜😜
The best body!
A truly attractive woman in every respect. Doris Day was one of the few women of Hollywood who preserved her self respect among the debauchery of Hollywood. She seems, still, to be the woman we simply want to meet. God bless you Doris.
❤
Get
Rid of the hangers on
Doris has her high beams on.
She seemed very straightforward, no pretentions. I loved her early films when she sang and had her recordings. She lived to a very good age.
Super Healthy Lady and She is so sweet and loving
Look at her positivity and her style. Wonderful! I look her old films with pleasure. And her voice was great! ❤🧡💚💜💛
I was a junior in High School and will never forget that "appearance"! You don't have to be Nostradamus to guess what me and my buddies
were talking about the next day!
Doris Day, was simply lovely. In every way. Such a sweet lady.
She knew exactly what she was doing…
Well she certainly showed her natural side.
Puppies were up and awake 😊
I always loved her, and still do..
Doris Day always seemed so genuine and lady like. What a great role model she was. I nick named my Mother in law affectionately, Doris Day with a high ball. Both lovely ladies.
In the 1970s DD was liberated in every way! A super sexy striding woman of immense talent and no ego and outstanding love for the innocent animals - DD was something else!
Very true!
Her performance in Calamity Jane was genius 👏👏👏
I learned she suffered from depression which made me love her even more as l do myself. God bless you, dear lady, I hope you're resting in Heavenly peace ❤🙏
Very stimulating. Thank you.
She was glad to see Johnny or it was an awful cold room.
I imagine it was hard for Johnny to maintain eye contact.
It was hard for me
High Beams were definitely bright. 🙂
@Red-rl1xx Yeah, I imagine it was hard for Johnny, two... I certainly got hard...
Hard on me for tooo
Johnny probably was hard. Thats why he has that big ole desk...
I love me some Doris Day...great women.
Nice to see a time when people totally disagreed but respect prevailed.
I was 18 and already out of high school. I remember this broadcast when it first aired and that suit Johnny was wearing. We were just moving into the disco era so the suit fit in at that time. I had an orange/brown suit coat that looked similar in pattern. Wow. Cool man.
I’ve always loved Doris Day in films but this is the first time I’ve seen her as herself
An she’s even more beautiful
RIP
❤
Was it cold in the studio or was Doris just happy to see Johnny?
Intentionally cold, intentionally braless. 😅
Carol is lovely, Doris had a couple of good "points" but what about Johnny's jacket?? 🤪
It must have been chilly in the studio. 😋
she was proud of her new breast implants
I am glad l was not the only mind going there
@katherinebilman7479 oh yeah!!
It looks like she wasn't wearing a bra lol
They are real, not implants.
Just a Beautiful Talented Actress and a Great Singer. Charismatic!
Doris comes across as as an earth mother.
You come across as a lunar tic 😆
@@20alphabet You'd think with "alphabet" as part of your screen name you'd avoid atrocities such as "lunar tic".
Doris Day was always uplifting! Johnny Carson was the best. '70s - decade of no or thin bras!
Her modesty RE her singing is touching and almost unbelievable . Doris Day was important musically. Her voice, tone, and style was a bridge between the ‘old-fashioned’ singing styles of the 30’s 40’s, and the ‘pop’ sound that grew more popular in the 50’s. ‘Sentimental Journey’ was during WW2 and her style was so ahead of its time.
I love Doris Day and all her movies. 🥰
She had great chemistry with rock hudson back in the day..good times
And no one is even looking at Carol Wayne 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She's really that stupid!
Carol Wayne was sizing her up.
@@paulabillanes5084
WE WERE ALL SIZING HER UP ;)
I'm surprised Carol came out first. Doris was a much bigger star.
@@stevethomas2285
Carol Wayne was the opening act .🤣😂😆😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks like it was cold in the studio. Gotta love Doris. RIP!
"....a meeting of the summits..."
Slick one Johnny
Doris gave zero shits. She corrected and disagreed with Johnny regularly during this interview.
Wow she’s Gorgeous, nice headlights 🤩
I miss those days. Prince might have said, "she's a peach."
Stunning
OMG. Doris was delicious from head to toe.
in your dreams.
She lived to be 95 years old, she's right about doing what you want to do in life. Perhaps some cautions should be adhered to when serious or severe but in the event of minor things, she had a good point.
97
Dayum, she almost made it to a 100!
Good genes bc her life wasn't easy but her attitude was always strong, she was always looking at the glass half full & she just wasn't the type to get stuck on those negative things, she didn't complain but march onward like a good soldier.
Wow she looks so gorgeous at 52 😮. UA-cam will immortalize her. She will forever be alive in our hearts
So many of us had a crush on and/ or admired Doris Day. She just appeared such a beautiful person …almost too good to be true…but by all reports she actually was just as amazing as she seemed
Johnny was notorious for keeping the stage temperature REALLY chilly... 😏
A summit meeting, indeed! 😂
Loved her movies!!!!
Me too Ginger!
Me as well, have watched them many times over, the comedies were hysterical!
I love her in 'Calamity Jane.' She jumped out of the screen at you (but, shamefully, didn't even get nominated for an Oscar).
Doris DAY is simply adorable………huge fan……🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
GOD BLESS HER SOUL !!SHE WAS A GREAT SINGER!!🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶⚡✨✨✌️❤️👍👍 UNBELIEVABLE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!✨✨
She’s 52 on the show, and I would’ve guessed her to be at least no more than 40🥰
Very "good work"...
I think we have a SUMMITT meeting tonight !! Only Johnny Su susuper lol 😆
From this interview, you'd assume that it was chilly in the studio, but if you ever watched the entire episode, Rodney Dangerfield comes out later and he's pouring out sweat, so I don't know what to think.
Rodney famously did a lot of coke before going on stage so he'd sweat no matter how cold it was.
Then the audience wakes up after her boring turn on stage. Correcting everything Johnny says, and trying to make him sound like he’s staring at her tits, when the guy is looking past her at his producer. You’re not the center of the world, Doris.
@@charliejamz. Ah come on... you don't think Johnny took AT LEAST one peek at those "peaks"? And he booked a second "delight", Carol Wayne. He got his money's worth that night, Johnny had four reasons to stare!!
The name Suzy Creamcheese is actually used on The Mothers Of Invention's (Frank Zappa) first album at the end of a song called It Can't Happen Here. From around 1967.
Actually now that I think about it the song was Help I'm A Rock.
Wasn't the real Suzy Creamcheese one of the GTOs?
@@chesterproudfoot9864 Don't know.
Lovely talented lady.
Wow I've never seen doris day after calamity jane?! Beautiful lady 😍
You could tell she was glad to see him.
She was a beautiful brilliant actress that is sorely missed
She was gorgeous and a great singer.
What a pair!... Johnny ans Doris were cool too.
Was Always Such A Classy Lady.
When i was a kid i had a huge crush on Doris Day. My mother was shocked that i was crazy about an old lady as she saw her..
Wow! Doris, what a lovely woman, stunning.
It was chilly in there.
I don’t think anyone under 50 knows the amount talent this chick had
Under 50. Their loss!
Yeah, and Doris wasn't too shabby either!!
Class.
She lived her final years in Carmel- by- the-Sea. He owned a small hotel there where we could send mail. I would send birthday cards. She lived to be 95. Her charity is still going...for animals.
I don't know about a summit but I see the peaks
I'm surprised that nobody here in the comments picked up on Johnny's "summit' joke 0:50 ... Then, right on cue, Doris pushes those mighty summits way up high, as if to say "I caught that Johnny"... Thems SOME mountain tops. Two big ranges... side by side. (CW's two too!! 2:31) Haha!!
As a side, many people always think bits like this ("summit" line, and Doris's "stretch") are done unscripted, but I think they were more scripted, staged... not all of them, but enough of them.
Goddamn! Those appear to be natural and they are beautiful.
Love her voice
Doris Day was a beautiful elegant lady. ❤
Watch love me or leave me. Her voice is perfect.
RIP
