      She was stunning and she knew she had quite the set and felt it was worth showing/flaunting them in this national TV appearance. It said a lot about who she really was as a private person rather than her stage persona which was a girl-next-door type. Lore has it that she loved her trysts and between the sheets play, and obviously she had a bountiful bosom to charm a man off his feet. I wonder what size she was back then, and I bet my last Andrew Jackson that her pair were natural, not enhanced.

      Its just a personal opinion but Ol' Doris sure seems like shez got a chip on her shoulder. She was incredibly vain -- infamously Vain...to the point she insisted on having " soft focus " used in her movies beginning around the sixties ( check out some of her 1960s flicks). But I've GOT to say she handled the air - head Carol Wayne with the utmost class.....!

    She was a great lady. I was a big fan of hers. Loved his show. She was a great mom. It’s too bad she had only one child but she found many in her animals.

    • @spuwho
      @spuwho Місяць тому

      Her husband (just before his sudden death) was complaining about the fact that the animals had a higher level of importance in the house than anything else. Animal hoarding is typically a psychological response to some level of emotional trauma someone has endured. Doris had in fact dealt with significant events in her life. While she had a brave face publicly, some believe the hoarding was her way of coping privately. Setting up a foundation for an animal shelter was a way for her to finally offload her collection.

    Her modesty RE her singing is touching and almost unbelievable . Doris Day was important musically. Her voice, tone, and style was a bridge between the ‘old-fashioned’ singing styles of the 30’s 40’s, and the ‘pop’ sound that grew more popular in the 50’s. ‘Sentimental Journey’ was during WW2 and her style was so ahead of its time.

    She lived her final years in Carmel- by- the-Sea. He owned a small hotel there where we could send mail. I would send birthday cards. She lived to be 95. Her charity is still going...for animals.

    I don't know about a summit but I see the peaks

  • @davidjones9661

    I'm surprised that nobody here in the comments picked up on Johnny's "summit' joke 0:50 ... Then, right on cue, Doris pushes those mighty summits way up high, as if to say "I caught that Johnny"... Thems SOME mountain tops. Two big ranges... side by side. (CW's two too!! 2:31) Haha!!
    As a side, many people always think bits like this ("summit" line, and Doris's "stretch") are done unscripted, but I think they were more scripted, staged... not all of them, but enough of them.
