I was doubtful when you explained the idea. But seeing the outer carapace as bone goes a long way to making it look like a floating, severed, alien skull...complete with exposed brain and meat tendrils. It's pretty brilliant. That makes me want to paint the tentacles in bloody/sinew-y colors on mine. I'm going to go build it now, actually!
Looks nice! Looks like this Hive Fleet has met up with some craft world Eldar before this. Perhaps picking up moth some psychic abilities as well as some wraithbone.
Why don't you use oil paint instead of a complicated technique with water-based acrylic? and perhaps it would be worth emphasizing the effect on the "tentacles", for example, using green fluorescent paint in the hollows?
The image you see of it before your head explodes. Glorious idea and execution.

That came out very cool, really like this scheme for the nids.

Hahaha it's a tyranid bioorganism that goes where it pleases sometimes 😆
Do this for the entire army
Oh damn that looks good! Fantastic idea for a paint scheme 👌

Would this be considered painting the box art if you used an inverted verion of the box art?
Nice paintwork! I can't wait for the inverted lamenter next ;)
Just ran it through the inverter and it kind of looks like a glowing Ultramarine 😆
Really nice work!
Thank you so much!
After explaining the concept I thought you were going to paint bright recesses and dark edges.
That was a really interesting idea. Enjoyed the vid, did subscribe.
As above, hair….hell yeah Oli.

Well, that's going to haunt my dreams.
How did the little Neuraloids turn out??
So if I'm honest they are still sitting around as test pieces! Hope one evening soon to get them matching their master
I cannot believe that you didn't invert the video of the final mini so we could compare and contrast!
You are so right! I'll put it on my comminity tab, thanks for the suggestion!
