I actually enjoyed both justice leagues for their strengths. I thought Weadon's was hilarious and missed his jokes in Synder's. Perhaps they should have worked together. I'm prepared for the hate at this comment! 😂
The fact that justice league is first and last really goes to show how the directors creative vision and absence of studio interference can really go a long way.
As a point of reference, I watched and took a lot of notes on all seventeen of these projects over the last two months. These are my updated thoughts on all of these projects. 17. Justice League 2017-An absolute abomination that essentially shows the worst of blockbuster filmmaking and studio interference, which makes for an unwatchable film, and one of my least favorite movies ever made 16. Suicide Squad-A classic example of WB micromanagement in this era of the franchise, leading to a deeply broken story, a choppy story structure, a lackluster antagonist, and a script that feels duct taped together by a group of producers 15. Wonder Woman 1984-While I do appreciate the ambitions that Patty Jenkins tried to reach, all of that ambition crumbles over its shoulders because of its nonsensical logic and lack of rules, which completely undermines the story, themes, character arcs, and overall payoff of all of those elements 14. The Flash-Despite enjoying this one a good bit both times I watched it in theaters, this movie has aged rather poorly for me because of how it executes multiple of its ideas, how the overall story is structured, the final moments, and especially how hollow Barry’s journey is by the time the movie wraps up As another point of reference, I would go positive on the rest of these projects 13. Shazam! Fury of the Gods-Even though it loses a lot of the charm of the first film by going bigger with the action and villains, it still provides enough emotion and humor to make for a relatively enjoyable, yet generic superhero movie 12. Black Adam-It’s certainly derivative of plenty of other comic book projects over the last fifteen years, but it delivers enough superficial entertainment for me to have a good enough time with this film 11. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom-Even though this is still a piece of DCEU leftovers, I did enjoy this movie for its expansion on the lore of the first film, its variety of action, and especially the interactions between Momoa and Wilson 10. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn-I’m well aware that this movie doesn’t work for a lot of DC fans, but because of its style, characters, storytelling, and action sequences, this movie works pretty well for me 9. Blue Beetle-For me, this one was actually a pleasant surprise because of the focus on Jaime’s family, its embracing of latino culture, and that it’s a standalone story that wasn’t concerned with tying into a bunch of DC plot points and characters, making for a solid, entertaining film 8. Aquaman-By no means is this movie thought provoking or overly deep, but it definitely entertains me with its globe trotting adventure, sillier humor, action sequences, and Shakespearean storylines 7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)-While I do acknowledge that this is a flawed film, I quite enjoy the Ultimate Edition for its ambitious themes, storytelling, and action, as well as having the introduction of Affleck’s Batman and the continuation of Cavill’s Superman 6. Shazam!-A funny, heartfelt addition to the franchise that’s able to be smaller scale because of Billy’s emotional journey, even if the villain doesn’t fully work and the tone is inconsistent 5. Peacemaker-Because James Gunn has the ability to make any character compelling and interesting, while also having mean spirited elements and lots of humor, this show is significantly better than what it should’ve been 4. Wonder Woman-Even though this movie does fizzle out at the climax, it’s still a rock solid comic book film that has a lot to say about hope and mercy in a broken world, all with well done action and enjoyable fish out of water humor 3. The Suicide Squad-A great DC film that harnesses all of James Gunn’s strengths in his humor, crafting of great team dynamic, hyperviolence, and massive heart at the center of all of it, making for a movie I love every time I watch it 2. Man of Steel-A fantastic 21st century version of the Superman character that has great aesthetics and action from Snyder, a great villain in General Zod, and powerful themes of self discovery to pull it all together, which makes for one of my all time favorite comic book films 1. Zack Snyder’s Justice League-An amazing comic book film that has great character arcs, solid Snyder action, complex, but incredibly satisfying storytelling, a massive scale, and fantastic world building, which makes for a superhero epic that’s absolutely deserving of the Justice League title
Solid list, I agree with most of your ranking. I mainly disagree with your take on the Flash. You absolutely make valid points on why you didn’t like it but I just personally found the movie very emotionally powerful and it’s just a very fun movie IMO. Definitely agree on ZSJL being #1 tho

I almost agree with this completely but I'd put Shazam next to Blue Beetle and put the Snyder Cut at the top. Snyder Cut was pretty much the heights of what the DCEU was always supposed to be. I still don't agree with certain choices but it is high of this universe.
I went to a test screening of Wonder Woman 1984 in 2019, a year before its release. I remember being highly critical of Steve Trevor in another man's body and some other aspects of the story and film. A year later the film was released and they didn't seem to change a single thing (except add a post credits scene with Lynda Carter)

I think the 3 Snyder movies pretty much make one trilogy and you really could just watch MOS BVS and Snyder Cut all by themselves as one trilogy and forget the rest of the DCEU if you wanted.
I pretty much feel the same way, but Wonder Woman also fits in there nicely. And Aquaman as a sort of epilogue, if you can ignore Mera no longer being British lol.
Also, I feel like more enjoyment can be found in Justice League if you just stop watching after the end and not watch the nightmare scene. That’s just me though. I get more closure that way

I will say Batman from BvS is probably the best on screen Batman we've ever had live action, in terms of fighting, costume and cowl, abilities and overall presence 💯 I thought even his entrance into the film was the best, where hes hiding up in the corner and the cop sees him and freaks out 👌🏼😄 Also in Aquaman i LOVED the horror sequence where the Trench attacks the boat towards the end, they dive in and only lit with lightning and a flare you can see thousands and thousands of these trench creatures swarming around them as they dive deeper and deeper 😲👏🏼💯🔱🏊🏼♂️🐬

What I appreciate about the DCEU is that the movies weren’t cookie cutter films. They had some personality. Love it or hate it, you got a unique experience going in to each one.
I take a decision to not coming to theater to watch Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom because the movie doesn’t have the same impact of the first one. The story not convince me. Great your video

The Snyder cut proved that we control the narrative. The only problem was the run time being four hours would the studio agreed to a two parter or cut off an hour and a quarter to accommodate it ?

I just saw the Aquaman sequel movie yesterday and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Honestly, I agree that the movie was great as a sequel, but not as a DCEU series bookend. Maybe we should go back and make shared universes less of a big deal. Not everything has to be connected.

Nothing tops Zack Snyder’s Justice League, at least in my opinion. I think it’s a masterpiece, and that’s not because I’m some Snyder Superfan. Several of his movies are duds, but I truly think the Snyder Cut is one of the greatest superhero films ever made.
Top 5 CBMs ever. Some days it is my favorite. Didn't think it'd touch infinity war or endgame, but somehow it did for me. Sad we'll never get the continuation of this version, but happy we got it at all.

I would slightly lower my score for Shazam and Aquaman but I still think their great films and I honestly loved the Flash. Yes the CGI was bad but the actual story was very emotionally resonant for me and I tear up every time I watch the movie.

Almost everything involving the story with the exception of the jokey ending (which is still find hilarious) is done right. I was invested in the story. I found it emotional and powerful probably because I relate to losing a parent. Yes, the special effects are DOG WATERR, but if you can get past the messed up package, you’ll still enjoy the gift of the Flash. I still hope for a good Flash movie in the future again maybe with a less problematic actor.
I enjoyed this ranking, but my least favorites are… 1. Blue Beetle - because it only felt like a Saturday morning episode of Power Rangers. 2.Aquaman 2 - it was bad enough that Mamoa was only playing Mamoa instead of playing Arthur Curry’s character. Orm eating cockroach was so low. Amber Heard popping up through out the movie was weirdly strange. Jabba the Hutt as Ursula - really? 3. Black Adam - I enjoyed it but the mash up of popular scenes shots from 300, MOS etc was laughable. Most of all Dwayne Johnson making the DCEU movie about Dwayne Johnston instead of Black Adam is unforgivable.

The biggest reason the 1st aquaman made over a billion is the same reason Captain Marvel did as well. Both films came out around when Marvel was at its peak with Infinity war/ endgame.

The movie was good but it wasn’t a good closing to the DCEU.
The fact that justice league is first and last really goes to show how the directors creative vision and absence of studio interference can really go a long way.
Makes you wonder how much better David Ayer's Suicide Squad might really be. I do hope they release that one day.

The Flash was far from perfect but resonated with me on an emotional level because I lost my mom back in 2014.
As a point of reference, I watched and took a lot of notes on all seventeen of these projects over the last two months. These are my updated thoughts on all of these projects.
17. Justice League 2017-An absolute abomination that essentially shows the worst of blockbuster filmmaking and studio interference, which makes for an unwatchable film, and one of my least favorite movies ever made
16. Suicide Squad-A classic example of WB micromanagement in this era of the franchise, leading to a deeply broken story, a choppy story structure, a lackluster antagonist, and a script that feels duct taped together by a group of producers
15. Wonder Woman 1984-While I do appreciate the ambitions that Patty Jenkins tried to reach, all of that ambition crumbles over its shoulders because of its nonsensical logic and lack of rules, which completely undermines the story, themes, character arcs, and overall payoff of all of those elements
14. The Flash-Despite enjoying this one a good bit both times I watched it in theaters, this movie has aged rather poorly for me because of how it executes multiple of its ideas, how the overall story is structured, the final moments, and especially how hollow Barry’s journey is by the time the movie wraps up
As another point of reference, I would go positive on the rest of these projects
13. Shazam! Fury of the Gods-Even though it loses a lot of the charm of the first film by going bigger with the action and villains, it still provides enough emotion and humor to make for a relatively enjoyable, yet generic superhero movie
12. Black Adam-It’s certainly derivative of plenty of other comic book projects over the last fifteen years, but it delivers enough superficial entertainment for me to have a good enough time with this film
11. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom-Even though this is still a piece of DCEU leftovers, I did enjoy this movie for its expansion on the lore of the first film, its variety of action, and especially the interactions between Momoa and Wilson
10. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn-I’m well aware that this movie doesn’t work for a lot of DC fans, but because of its style, characters, storytelling, and action sequences, this movie works pretty well for me
9. Blue Beetle-For me, this one was actually a pleasant surprise because of the focus on Jaime’s family, its embracing of latino culture, and that it’s a standalone story that wasn’t concerned with tying into a bunch of DC plot points and characters, making for a solid, entertaining film
8. Aquaman-By no means is this movie thought provoking or overly deep, but it definitely entertains me with its globe trotting adventure, sillier humor, action sequences, and Shakespearean storylines
7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)-While I do acknowledge that this is a flawed film, I quite enjoy the Ultimate Edition for its ambitious themes, storytelling, and action, as well as having the introduction of Affleck’s Batman and the continuation of Cavill’s Superman
6. Shazam!-A funny, heartfelt addition to the franchise that’s able to be smaller scale because of Billy’s emotional journey, even if the villain doesn’t fully work and the tone is inconsistent
5. Peacemaker-Because James Gunn has the ability to make any character compelling and interesting, while also having mean spirited elements and lots of humor, this show is significantly better than what it should’ve been
4. Wonder Woman-Even though this movie does fizzle out at the climax, it’s still a rock solid comic book film that has a lot to say about hope and mercy in a broken world, all with well done action and enjoyable fish out of water humor
3. The Suicide Squad-A great DC film that harnesses all of James Gunn’s strengths in his humor, crafting of great team dynamic, hyperviolence, and massive heart at the center of all of it, making for a movie I love every time I watch it
2. Man of Steel-A fantastic 21st century version of the Superman character that has great aesthetics and action from Snyder, a great villain in General Zod, and powerful themes of self discovery to pull it all together, which makes for one of my all time favorite comic book films
1. Zack Snyder’s Justice League-An amazing comic book film that has great character arcs, solid Snyder action, complex, but incredibly satisfying storytelling, a massive scale, and fantastic world building, which makes for a superhero epic that’s absolutely deserving of the Justice League title

I almost agree with this completely but I'd put Shazam next to Blue Beetle and put the Snyder Cut at the top. Snyder Cut was pretty much the heights of what the DCEU was always supposed to be. I still don't agree with certain choices but it is high of this universe.

I went to a test screening of Wonder Woman 1984 in 2019, a year before its release. I remember being highly critical of Steve Trevor in another man's body and some other aspects of the story and film. A year later the film was released and they didn't seem to change a single thing (except add a post credits scene with Lynda Carter)

I think the 3 Snyder movies pretty much make one trilogy and you really could just watch MOS BVS and Snyder Cut all by themselves as one trilogy and forget the rest of the DCEU if you wanted.
I pretty much feel the same way, but Wonder Woman also fits in there nicely. And Aquaman as a sort of epilogue, if you can ignore Mera no longer being British lol.
Also, I feel like more enjoyment can be found in Justice League if you just stop watching after the end and not watch the nightmare scene. That’s just me though. I get more closure that way

Great list! I will say Batman from BvS is probably the best on screen Batman we've ever had live action, in terms of fighting, costume and cowl, abilities and overall presence 💯 I thought even his entrance into the film was the best, where hes hiding up in the corner and the cop sees him and freaks out 👌🏼😄
Also in Aquaman i LOVED the horror sequence where the Trench attacks the boat towards the end, they dive in and only lit with lightning and a flare you can see thousands and thousands of these trench creatures swarming around them as they dive deeper and deeper 😲👏🏼💯🔱🏊🏼♂️🐬
My four(4) favorites DC movies in that order: 👍👍😍

So essentially,Zack only directed Man Of Steel,he didn’t write it.
And yet everyone wants to be mad him for the choices made in the film,when he didn’t even write it.
The DCEU would have have wonder better as a non-shared universe as it is basically a bunch of individuals movies that are just using DC heros.
I will never forget that Martian Manhunter reveal. That made me cough out a mouthful of popcorn

What I appreciate about the DCEU is that the movies weren’t cookie cutter films. They had some personality. Love it or hate it, you got a unique experience going in to each one.
I take a decision to not coming to theater to watch Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom because the movie doesn’t have the same impact of the first one. The story not convince me.

The Snyder cut proved that we control the narrative. The only problem was the run time being four hours would the studio agreed to a two parter or cut off an hour and a quarter to accommodate it ?

I just saw the Aquaman sequel movie yesterday and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Honestly, I agree that the movie was great as a sequel, but not as a DCEU series bookend. Maybe we should go back and make shared universes less of a big deal. Not everything has to be connected.

Nothing tops Zack Snyder’s Justice League, at least in my opinion. I think it’s a masterpiece, and that’s not because I’m some Snyder Superfan. Several of his movies are duds, but I truly think the Snyder Cut is one of the greatest superhero films ever made.
Top 5 CBMs ever. Some days it is my favorite. Didn't think it'd touch infinity war or endgame, but somehow it did for me. Sad we'll never get the continuation of this version, but happy we got it at all.
Man of Steel is the best DCEU movie and it should be a crime that it never got the proper sequel it deserved.

@@MrMrjack18 no, I don’t think any movie is perfect, even if I give them 100% their not perfect movies. Every movie has flaws. I would slightly lower my score for Shazam and Aquaman but I still think their great films and I honestly loved the Flash. Yes the CGI was bad but the actual story was very emotionally resonant for me and I tear up every time I watch the movie.

Sean, I'm curious. Why do you (and other people) acknowledge the Whedon Cut when it's the same movie as the Snyder Cut? If you were doing a Ridley Scott ranking, would you have four slots for Blade Runner? Everyone always gives Justice League special treatment and I never got that.

I haven’t seen Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom yet….
And I know my list with the Flash ranking above ZS’s Justice League might raise some questions, but here’s my response. Almost everything involving the story with the exception of the jokey ending (which is still find hilarious) is done right. I was invested in the story. I found it emotional and powerful probably because I relate to losing a parent. Yes, the special effects are DOG WATERR, but if you can get past the messed up package, you’ll still enjoy the gift of the Flash. I still hope for a good Flash movie in the future again maybe with a less problematic actor.
I enjoyed this ranking, but my least favorites are…
1. Blue Beetle - because it only felt like a Saturday morning episode of Power Rangers.
2.Aquaman 2 - it was bad enough that Mamoa was only playing Mamoa instead of playing Arthur Curry’s character. Orm eating cockroach was so low. Amber Heard popping up through out the movie was weirdly strange. Jabba the Hutt as Ursula - really?
3. Black Adam - I enjoyed it but the mash up of popular scenes shots from 300, MOS etc was laughable. Most of all Dwayne Johnson making the DCEU movie about Dwayne Johnston instead of Black Adam is unforgivable.

The biggest reason the 1st aquaman made over a billion is the same reason Captain Marvel did as well. Both films came out around when Marvel was at its peak with Infinity war/ endgame.
