    I like the 28 mm, but the 40 mm f/2 is my favorite. I‘d love to see Nikon offering a Short Tele around 75 mm with f/2.8 in the same style, it would make for a great trio of light, interesting lenses.

      Can tou tell me that, is this shrper than kit lense 24-50mm. This kit lense on my z5 is not making Sharpe images when I shoot group photos.

      @@cleonk-q5y I don’t know about the 24-50 since I don’t own that one, but the 28mm is pretty sharp in my opinion

    Glad you're happy with that lens.
    For wide angles, I chose the Z 20 mm f/1.8 S.
    Is also great for astro-photography.

      That's a great choice, I was definitely considering getting that lens at one point

      @@TheProjectPhotography Like the Z 70-200 f/2.8 zoom, that Z 20 mm f/1.8 is an expensive chunk of glass! After dumping most of my F gear, I chose to get most of Nikon's Z primes.
      Z 20 / Z35 /Z50 / Z50 MC f/2.8 / Z85 along with the Z 24-120 and the Z 70-200.
      Of course these can also be used with the Z30. The only F camera I kept is a RED D5500 (purchased new) with a hand-full of lenses.

    I need to try this lens. I have the 40 F2 and it’s a great walk-around lens.

    I've been using this lens on my z8 since last November. I've used it for street, travel and general photography. It is often my walk around lens, mostly because it is small. That it is plastic doesn't bother me, and I think the build quality is good. I like the form factor, a lot. But, I just don't find it particularly sharp when compared to the other lenses I commonly use, a 24-70/2.8 F and the 105/2.8 Z. It functions well enough, especially for the price. but if a critical shot is needed, I'm reaching for something else. I would love a critically sharp 20/4 if it had the same form factor.

    I'm still learning it, but the 28mm is a fun lens.
    I think what I love is, it's wide, but not super wide.
    Nikon did the lens justice by using plastic.
    It's a lens intended for everybody. Always was.

    I love this lens. I’m a hobby photographer and I’ve the 24/200, 24/70 f4 and this one. It feels so well balanced on my Z5 I leave it on as much as possible. Being honest I don’t enjoy the weight and size of the full frame system and may step back to cropped, but I’d keep the z5 with this on it if I did.

      The 28mm size definitely helps to minimize the full frame weight. Also the 24-70mm f4 is a fantastic lens. I had it when I first bought my Nikon z6 and I always enjoyed the photos that came out of it

    Good video you've got there. please can you suggest this lens to someone that is a wedding photographer?

      I personally wouldn't use it for wedding photography. I think you'd need something faster for a prime.

      @@TheProjectPhotography Okay, thanks. I already have a 50mm f1.8 s-line lens. What wider lens can you suggest?

    • @TheProjectPhotography
      @TheProjectPhotography  Рік тому +3

      For weddings probably the 24mm f1.8s is a good choice

    I already have the 17-28 2.8 and am contemplating if I should also get this 28 2.8 as well given the 17-28 is also pretty light weight. How does the two compare at 28mm? And for casual people photos how does the bokeh at 28mm and F2.8 compare?

    • @TheProjectPhotography
      @TheProjectPhotography  9 місяців тому +1

      For reference I have both the 17-28mm and the 28mm (for very different reasons). They are both lightweight, but what I've found to be the biggest difference is the form factor as the 28mm is far smaller compared to the 17-28mm, this means you can fit it in smaller bags or in smaller compartments in a normal backpack. Bokeh wise, they are both the same. I hope this helps!
