Hey Geoff, You always mention your history of running and I think a video a running might be good if you still remember it all! Congrats on 15k btw! Edit: I think particularly enlarging the heart to inprove cardio which is a very transitional benefit
Great video 👍 !! That moment when you tried to read my question #130 and you are like ( omg wtf grammar is that I cannot even read it) that hurt me a little bit!!
Thanks so much for answering my question man! I bought your book and have been enjoying it mainly as a reference for exercises when I want to assist my main lifts. Still awaiting that nutrition book tho...
Thanks for answering my inquiry about the snapping tendons, and the excellent work and effort into this insane video! Bloody Hell, 'tis full of major things to find out and know. The main "snapping" in the elbow comes from various movements throughout the day, be it putting on a shirt, or a sudden move of the arm. If I am in a "plank" position when doing abs, the snapping is heard when I move out of the position. It happens at various times with nothing to do with training, and not all the time with workouts. I dont know if its just very tight tiny tendons caught up. The physios that I visited over the times didnt seem to think its an issue. Again, many thanks for the continuing content and this video. Lá Fhéile Phádrig! Happy St Patricks Day!☘☘
I'm number 11! You bring in a good idea about overtraining. I do think I had it, just because I was walking 6+ miles a day plus training 3 hours a day 6 days a week (lol) and eventually my body just broke down, my strength TANKED. I'm talking like my pullups went from 12 to barely 5 (don't judge me I'm a woman)! I ended up taking time off and slowly got back into it, but now I'm worried when I go back into the gym for real I might succumb (I sent you an email for 1 on 1 help/advice from you so I know I'll probably just talk to you about this there) just because I am so prone to that gym bro mentality of never stopping until you're gonna throw up or pass out, or both. I wrote an easier program for myself this time. Effectively I guess I may not have had OT, but even stuff like depression/low appetite/exhausted all the time/lowered sex drive was like taking over my life. It's crazy what your hobbies can end up doing to you when you let them become your whole life. Thankfully never injured myself, but I let myself get close to losing all my gains all in the name of thinking high weight/high reps was good!
started watching this video two days ago when you were at 19 200 subs. Opened up my computer today and now you're at 20 200. Congrats man, great video and fun to see that your channels actually starts getting more attention.
Didn't noticed my error, I at least try to have good grammar! Lol. Thank you for answering my question. Now I can explain what nuance is to people that don't speak english, because translating the word doesn't make sense.
Late to the party here, but for the record: America has a social credit score too. It's called your "credit score". And it will be used to determine your qualification for housing, loans, jobs, and so much more.
"You should NEVER speak in absolutes." - Geoffrey Verity Schofield This sounds like some ancient Taoist or Buddhist Koan. While true, it's also inherently self-defeating, and ultimately a mindfukk 😂
@@GVS hell yeah brother. I'm surprised after talking for that long you're capable of that kind of thing haha Great job, I listened to the whole thing and it kept me going through a rough work day (industrial refrigeration tech).
Thanks for answering my question on occlusion training. I use it periodically on isolation exercises toward the end of my workouts and wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. Lol
Wtf you really did a 3 hour video? There are many good youtubers but no one shows this level of commitment towards their followers. Really great stuff this is 💯
Yes we should all watch MPMDs. His life goal is to convince people that looking at your testosterone is a 2 step process, you have to look at both your total testosterone and free testosterone.
I got rhabdomyolysis early in my training career because I was new, underhydrated and doing the same muscle groups multiple days in a row. Now, with experience, I know what muscle groups are safe to train with high frequency and I stay hydrated, drink less alcohol, especially if I trained hard, etc. But rhabdo is real. My arms swole up like watery marshmallows.
When is your next Q&A? Also You spoken before about meso and macro training cycles. If a person has done 3 hypertrophy cycles would they transition into mini cutting cycle then strength cycle? Or just transfer into strength cycles and do a longer cutting at the end?
Realistically I won't be doing another one. Filming this took 4+ hours straight. The macrocycles are pretty individual so hard to say. Very much goal dependent!
@@GVS that’s understandable about the individual nature of training cycles. Honestly I feel that regardless of what I do I will be gaining benefit but it hard to do know if I should do strength cycles now or to cut now. My only concern though is that I am an older lifter, I’m gonna be 40 this year, and so I am slightly concerned about my muscle gaining capabilities being that I am a lifelong natural. Thank you for putting in the work to share your knowledge with all of us, I hope it is greatly appreciated by all.
I agree that Starting Strength is on the dogmatic side but the basic system works very very well for novices. It worked 100% for me back in the day, I was 42 back then. It worked for friends too. I disagree with Rippetoe's damning of certain lifts myself tho. I don't see anything bad in trap bar deadlifts etc. Rip is a little too stubborn.
I'm an overweight 40 year old man. I'm a machinist working 70 hours a week. I enjoy weight lifting, but I need to lose weight. I don't want to do cardio because I can't afford to lose too much muscle. I'm 5'7" 390 deadlift and I weight 290lbs. I want to lose 100 lbs and again, I don't want to lose muscle. Any suggestions??
Tough to really give personalized advice here but I'd focus mostly on diet and I wouldn't worry about muscle loss. It's really only a thing at lower body fat percentages.
Regarding question 88 (1:50:00) I have read that low bar squatting can cause biceps tendonitis, if you're holding the weight in your arms too much. Most people won't have any problems but it's easily over-looked!
the funny thing about the topic: "why your aren´t looking like the "normal" youtube fitness-influencer": you once looked quite like them. bad thing: you stuck and didn´t get that much gains. so you faced reality and went on. and now you are an example - a great one by the way, how natural lifters should look like during the year and still getting better and stronger. of course you can shred down for fun, for a photoshot, for what ever, but as alex from alpha destiny said after doing it: this is not worth to maintain.
@@GVS I enjoy your content and respect your opinion on stuff, would appreciate to see your take on it.
