that one was a joke tho, just like 75% of the other ones. this is just another clickbait skateboard vid that’s even more cringe than the clips they’re showing
To answer the second Tik Tok: Mall Grabbing is associated with a trend in the early 2000's, where people who often saw skateboarding as a fashion would dress like skateboarders and buy a skateboard only so they could walk around malls claiming to be skaters just to get a higher status around people, and most often they carried their skateboards by their trucks, which is why it's called "Mall Grabbing" and is commonly associated with Posers who only see skateboarding as a trend and not a serious way of life. There is also some people who say it's hard to throw your board when holding by the truck, which is a easy fix, just grab the nose when you're ready to roll. Hold your board in whatever way it fucking pleases you, if you want to hold it by the wheels you can, skateboarding doesn't have rules, but if it did, there would be just one, "Have fun"... Or maybe "If you snake, you deserve to be impaled in a stake".
i love you all in the comments😭😭 makes me feel more reassured. im really scared getting call as posers but seeing u guys agreeing on the thing im scared to do really helps me feel reassure. esp the safety gears. i wanna wear for safety but ik people would call me poser and not cool
Don’t worry about all that. Being safe if more important than what people think. Especially as a beginning having some sort of gear really helps you feel more safe and comfortable on your board. Most people won’t make fun of you for your gear the only people who do are assholes or actual posers lol. Enjoy the sport and just have fun!
^ Like they Said don't worry, only assholes will make fun of you when you're trying to protect yourself. As a begginer, i'm wearing Gear, so don't worry, you're not alone.
Well, think about it, the posers are so worried about looking good they they wouldnt wear protective gear because it doesn't look 'cool' because they're more concerned about looking cool instead of being smart. If you dont wear protective gear when you start it's pretty stupid, like when i went to a skatepark when i started i was wearing knee pads and elbow pads and a helmet and nobody had a go at me, they're all just minding their own business. And i'm pretty decent on my board now! Plus, it's ok to be a beginner, and if anybody tells you youre a poser just tell them there's a difference between a beginner and a poser. Not that that would happen, being accused of being a poser rarely happens, thats why people record it. Remember that most of the time the people accusing are actually the posers. Just give it your best and dont give up, you'll get good :)
Honestly what other people think does not outweigh the pain (and in extreme cases life altering/even death) that you can avoid by looking uncool. I’m a little shy of wearing my helmet but after reading about how terrible head injuries can be and life altering it’s got me strapping it on real quick haha. Just add stickers or personalize it the way you want. I would also recommend still keeping the helmet even when you feel good enough to not wear anything else because everything else can heal pretty well but head injuries are just too dangerous. It can alter your personality with just a terrible fall and hit to your head. Good luck!
Im actually a beginner and because of the posers im scared. What if everyone would think im a poser too? Im just really shy and i cant even walk straight when a group of 15 year olds pass by :'D
Theirs no need to worry. The word poser is used for people who pretend like they skate but don’t. Like in the video people making fake scratches on their boards to seem like they skate or taking pictures at the skate park but not even riding around to seem like they skate. People are usually super kind when your a beginner and people love to help other skaters out!
I’m literally on day 2 of learning to skate as a 23 year old woman alone. some of the nuance of the cringe went over my head, but it’s hard enough just trying it without arseholes making fun and calling you a poser! But great that the overall skating community sees it as a bad thing and as “cringy” to be so negative! Seems like THEY are the true posers 😄 Also being genuine isn’t about the ‘look’, I’m not changing my style and personality to fit into a sport!
Yeah most skateboarders are super chill so don’t let the bad apples ruin the sport for you! It’s all about having fun and expressing yourself no matter who you are!
Omggggg!!!! I’m also a 23 year old who’s learning to skate!!!!! I don’t understand the whole poser thing tbh and because I don’t understand it so it doesn’t really bother me haha. Skateboarding is a way for me to hang out with my little bro and find something new to do. Today was my first day and unfortunately I fell pretty badly but wasn’t deterred and got on again. Hoping that I’ll get to cruise and be more comfortable picking up a little bit of speed.

Bruh, mall grabbing isnt bad. I only hold it like that when I'm in crowded places because I ACTUALLY RESPECT PEOPLES SPACE. Also, I still don't know how to pick up my board by stepping on the back, I always fuck myself over.
Takes a lil bit of practice but, you'll learn to get it eventually. I do it with my longboard which is a whole lot more easier considering that it basically lands on my hand, but it's all about momentum. Stomp the tail, let it stand up and then grab the board, but you can mall grab, there's nothing really wrong with that until you get in a skatepark.
@@belleski9445 yeah but with practice you can do it ! At first ithought I can't do it too because the tutorial that i watched seemed so easy but SKATEBOARD IS NOT EASY SO DON'T PRESSURE YOURSELF IT'S ALRIGHT!! WHEN U KEEP PRACTICING YOU'LL KEEP IMPROVING ❤️❤️

i had a huge block in my skating a while ago because i was afraid of being judged or seen as a poser for not being able to do tricks. My dad told me that he had that same experience as a kid and said that everyone is at the park for the same reason. after that i was much more confident and eventully learned the tricks. long story short, youl get there! just have fun with it
I skated when I was in my teens, but kept getting jumped for my deck and the last time it happened I got knocked out and they dipped in a van with my deck and bag. I stopped skating a while after that. I turned 28 a few days back and started skating again. I probably look like a poser now, but try and take my deck and I will bury you this time haha.
1:51 Btw just a heads up in this situation just try saying you wanna actually skate the object they're on. I find 9 out of 10 times people are cool and move, but you do get the odd ones that won't. I always get annoyed as a skater with people dumping their bags and shit on grind boxes or even worse just sitting on them. 2:50 I don't understand the point of putting that vid in there chloe does skate and she's like in multiple bands lol (idk if it was calling her a poser or??)
I try my best to become good at it. I go skating whenever I have the chance but it's really difficult because of my classes and other hobbies I also have. I have been skating for like 2 months and I still haven't managed an Ollie. I am trying though but still I'm sure that being a skater in my city isn't the best. There isn't any actual skate spot where I could practice and I am merely afraid I'll fail if I try skating on less rough grounds, but with people around. Not having an actual place to skate is a main reason, but I guess I'm scared I'll get called a poser since I haven't managed tricks yet. Still, not wanting to do them doesn't make you a poser. Some people just want to move around with their skateboards, and that's OK. I was like that at first, I just feel like I need sth more now.
Mm it took me like 6 months to land an ollie you'll b fine. just practice alot and be ready for the injuries too haha also dont worry so much abt what other people think about you, nobady really cares anyways but know that having fun is all that matters
been longboarding for over a year and I just got my first skateboard a few days ago, got called a poser by some guy who doesn't even skate because I didn't do a 5ft roll in
I can proudly say I never really cared for learning tricks. I have 3 cruiser board and 2 longboard and I been riding and enjoy it for over 9 years now. I just love to chill and cruise around for hours.
Beginners aren't posers, the real posers are the ones who are all talk and no walk. I remember how scary it was showing up to the skatepark when I started out
No only dumb people are gonna call you a poser for being a beginner. The word poser is usually used for people who pretend they skateboard when they don’t so they look cooler. Just keep practicing and having fun, most real skateboarders will gladly help and welcome you into the community!
poser: - Avoids skating but hangs out at skate areas and also avoids showing off tricks - will probably call out other people for the simplest things - try hard - probably has their phone out to take pics or whatever - shows off skating merch (thrasher, Girl etc) Maybe if they have skate marks on shoes or skateboard you can ask them to do a trick theyll most likely avoid too Beginner - tries to skate - maybe youll see them on the grass - focused or maybe even sweating - if they fall either they'll quickly get back up or look around for injuries dont call them out because they have shiny new skating equipment. they're still practicing and theres a high chance they bought them recently. mallgrabbing isnt a bad thing. i even do it sometimes
Regarding the last TikTok: there is a huge difference between a poser and a new skater and I hate it when people call others posers for not knowing how to Casper flip or kick flip.
Y’all are too serious 😂 let them support sk8 companies and promote skating it will benefit the community they’re providing content who cares if they’re being fake 😂
I got called out(indirectly) many times too saying I'm a poser or whatnot. Caught them lacking talking about me and my shit so safe to say and assume they might be jealous on something(probably because I have better clothing and dress better and nicer and setups as well; I worked for it)I'm just waiting on them to say shit straight to my face and see if they like getting decked in their chin or throat. No pun intended.
I’m 28 and just got into skateboarding. I just mind my own business and try to learn tricks away from the big groups. Don’t got time to care for labels like that I just wanna learn how to do shit
2:57 dude, some beginners are scared to go out to the skatepark because of people assuming they’re posers And put a shirt on, this is tiktok, not your shower
In Tik Tok, there is no such thing as learning, you are a poser (Aka: Someone who claims they are something more than they actually are) until you Tre Flip on their face.
I don't rly care about some of these ones but saying that "posers call themselves beginners now" is not okay it makes the ppl who r actual beginners who want to get better embarrassed to skate or go to a skatepark with skaters there
They call themselves skaters and they only ride 2 feet and don't even stand on the board etc. And they say they're not posers all the times When they are
if it’s someone who’s just new to skating then that’s fine! i mean if it’s your first day and you can’t skate then that doesn’t make you a poser, it means it’s your first day and you can’t skate.
Posers giving Thrasher Mag merch a bad name: omgnyes i sk8 yes I’m a skiuwhNejr yeah I’m a skater Uwuwu I SKATE GOD DAMMIT LOOK AT MY THRASHER SHIRT? Oh you want me to…ollie? Well I can’t do it in front of people I get too nervous…yeahh.. By the way I wear thrasher, oh and I read thrasher, ILOVETHRaSEr People who actually like Thrasher Mag: bruh
GOD ALMIGHTY Loves you all give your life to JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY Before it’s to late and live for GOD ALMIGHTY NOT FOR THE WORLD. GOD ALMIGHTY bless you my friends
Honestly, I'm not a skateboarder so maybe I don't get the community's gatekeep motives but you gotta remember that veterans themselves were once beginners and most likely got into skateboarding because they also thought it was cool before the term "poser" was a thing back then. So don't worry about what some teenagers think cause they accuse beginners probably to just stroke their egos. Find your passions, you aren't hurting anyone.
I’ve been mall-grabbing ever since I began skating, it’s convenient ok? I just figured out that it was somehow bad or cringe, why couldn’t any other grab be labeled cringe, mall grabbing is so easy and convenient :(
Ive been called a poser but i cruise i ltteraly own a cruiser board and when im told to "do a kickflip" when i say i cant they call me a poser i just cruise. Do yall think im a poser
Their the real posers if they think anybody can do a kick flip on a cruiser! Your definitely not a poser, your just vibing don’t let dumbasses like them ruin your experience. Maybe next time when they make fun of you for not doing a kick flip, ask them if they can do one. I’d be surprised if they could
Yeah I’ve always wanted to own a board to cruise with, but am scared people would think I’m some poser. I appreciate the art of learning tricks, but I’m not an intense person. I would rather enjoy cruising and relaxing on a board. A poser wouldn’t even be able to cruise at all I think.
being a female skater is hard- and I'm a beginner or am i ? I've been skating for almost a month and I'm learning a few tricks still ! and I've already broke my ankle by trying an ollie i- 🤠 then i sprained my thumbs- :,)
Am I considered a poser if I only skateboard/longboard a few times a week or just for fun? Like I dont go to skate parks or anything and I dont post about it either I just do it for fun
Being a poser and being a beginner are totally different things! A poser is something who isn’t actually interested in learning they just want the “aesthetic”, being a beginner is when you generally like it and want to learn.
I ask myself, hmm, you don't skate nor know a lot of skating terms such as mongo pushing or mall grabbing but KNOW WHAT A POSER IS I'm beyond bamboozled
My brother always be saying I think I’m a skater but I’m not even tho I can ollie fs180 bs180 pop shuv ollie a 3 stair gap spots kickflip varial Casper flip board slide 5050 carve the bowl with huge air over a trash can feeble rock to fakie rock and roll smith grind and kickflip up a curb idk I might be poser tho🤔🤷🏽♂️
I don't understand why people hate mall grabbing, like, ik the history of posers doing it but it's literally the EASIEST WAY to hold the board. If I hold how you're "supposed to" the grip tape scratches the hell outta my fingers. I usually end up bleeding If I keep holding it that way.
So basically as a beginner I have to be expected to hold the board “normally” and know how to skate AND be good at it straight away or I’m just a poser…. How tf am I meant to learn to skate when the equivalent of a “poser” is a beginner
Skateboard community has WAY too much gate keeping. Just because you’re a beginner doesn’t make you a poser. True skaters don’t care about that, they just want to excel at skating.

To answer the second Tik Tok:
Mall Grabbing is associated with a trend in the early 2000's, where people who often saw skateboarding as a fashion would dress like skateboarders and buy a skateboard only so they could walk around malls claiming to be skaters just to get a higher status around people, and most often they carried their skateboards by their trucks, which is why it's called "Mall Grabbing" and is commonly associated with Posers who only see skateboarding as a trend and not a serious way of life.

I was like that at first, I just feel like I need sth more now.
exactly
Mm it took me like 6 months to land an ollie you'll b fine. just practice alot and be ready for the injuries too haha also dont worry so much abt what other people think about you, nobady really cares anyways but know that having fun is all that matters
been longboarding for over a year and I just got my first skateboard a few days ago, got called a poser by some guy who doesn't even skate because I didn't do a 5ft roll in
lmaao loved this
Bro mall grabbing is so comfortable for me- idk why people hate on it so much like dayum
“Skatings for losers anyways”
Also skateboarding: probably one of the most cool looking things i have ever seen
I can proudly say I never really cared for learning tricks. I have 3 cruiser board and 2 longboard and I been riding and enjoy it for over 9 years now. I just love to chill and cruise around for hours.
Beginners aren't posers, the real posers are the ones who are all talk and no walk. I remember how scary it was showing up to the skatepark when I started out
that girl pointing to kuromi and saying hello kitty makes me homicidal
That clip of them dancing at 2:47 is actually pretty dope lol
A beginner≠ a poser
A beginner that doesn’t own the fact that they’re a beginner= a poser
A Skater that calls beginners posers= a poser
Yeah, but do you: NOT HAVE TIKTOK? that's what I thought. Ultimate non-poser I don't have TikTok
Wait, I’m a beginner, and if posers are calling themselves beginners, am I gonna get called a poser for saying I’m a beginner??
i dunno.. i’m worried i will be cause i’m a beginner longboarder
No only dumb people are gonna call you a poser for being a beginner. The word poser is usually used for people who pretend they skateboard when they don’t so they look cooler. Just keep practicing and having fun, most real skateboarders will gladly help and welcome you into the community!
great now i have the fear of being called a poser when i'm an actual beginner
poser:
- Avoids skating but hangs out at skate areas and also avoids showing off tricks
- will probably call out other people for the simplest things
- try hard
- probably has their phone out to take pics or whatever
- shows off skating merch (thrasher, Girl etc)
Maybe if they have skate marks on shoes or skateboard you can ask them to do a trick theyll most likely avoid too
Beginner
- tries to skate
- maybe youll see them on the grass
- focused or maybe even sweating
- if they fall either they'll quickly get back up or look around for injuries
dont call them out because they have shiny new skating equipment. they're still practicing and theres a high chance they bought them recently.
mallgrabbing isnt a bad thing. i even do it sometimes
Regarding the last TikTok: there is a huge difference between a poser and a new skater and I hate it when people call others posers for not knowing how to Casper flip or kick flip.
Ace hoody at the end goes hard
Damn it stop comparing beginner and poser
That "alt" girl pronouncing Lil Peep wrong shows she's ever more of a poser 😭 good job on that TikToker for getting that character right
These videos are hurting my soul 😩
I like how people call me a poser for being a beginner when they can barely ride for 2 minutes
fun fact : poser calls someone else poser because they don't want to be called poser but that's the truth
0:23 everything
thats not even informative you might as well have kept your mouth shut
I just can't forget how people called me a poser only for beeing a newbie
This hurts😂
Lol I skate inline and always get looks from boarders. Why can't we all just love each other, we all have the power of wheels lmao
Dw man I get that too. Us bladers need to stick together
Posers unite grind on their sidewalks as you roll past their house 👏
mad that mallgrabbing is seen as a poser thing to do, i stg its the most comfortable way to hold a skateboard
4:47 god dam I have never wanted to slap some one more that this clip
2:57 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻
3:07 but i am learning. so i’m not allowed to learn
we’ve gotta start somewhere 🙄
Y’all are too serious 😂 let them support sk8 companies and promote skating it will benefit the community they’re providing content who cares if they’re being fake 😂
Lol the hole in the mask was a win!
LETS GO MADE IT FIRST THATS SO SICK!!!!
Im new to skating and accidentally snaked someone because i didnt see them and proceeded to get cussed out
I got called out(indirectly) many times too saying I'm a poser or whatnot.
Fun fact : there was a time where i knew almost every monster flavour
The first videos at Mira loma in Reno one of the best parks here🤟👈
I’m 28 and just got into skateboarding. I just mind my own business and try to learn tricks away from the big groups. Don’t got time to care for labels like that I just wanna learn how to do shit
2:57 dude, some beginners are scared to go out to the skatepark because of people assuming they’re posers
And put a shirt on, this is tiktok, not your shower
One of my old friends: oh yeah I’ve been skating for years now
*fails ollie*
Friend: uh well I’m just a beginner
I’m an alt beginner now I’m scared to be labeled a poser :’(
Scooter kids, we’re sorry, now please some back
In Tik Tok, there is no such thing as learning, you are a poser (Aka: Someone who claims they are something more than they actually are) until you Tre Flip on their face.
Whenever some body calls you a poser when your not half the time their the posers themselves
And they say they're not posers all the times
When they are
if it’s someone who’s just new to skating then that’s fine! i mean if it’s your first day and you can’t skate then that doesn’t make you a poser, it means it’s your first day and you can’t skate.
what is wrong with mall grabbing?
skate for yourself, not for others
Posers giving Thrasher Mag merch a bad name: omgnyes i sk8 yes I’m a skiuwhNejr yeah I’m a skater Uwuwu I SKATE GOD DAMMIT LOOK AT MY THRASHER SHIRT? Oh you want me to…ollie? Well I can’t do it in front of people I get too nervous…yeahh.. By the way I wear thrasher, oh and I read thrasher, ILOVETHRaSEr
People who actually like Thrasher Mag: bruh
GOD ALMIGHTY Loves you all give your life to JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY Before it’s to late and live for GOD ALMIGHTY NOT FOR THE WORLD. GOD ALMIGHTY bless you my friends
Real skaters dgaf about posers
Honestly, I'm not a skateboarder so maybe I don't get the community's gatekeep motives but you gotta remember that veterans themselves were once beginners and most likely got into skateboarding because they also thought it was cool before the term "poser" was a thing back then. So don't worry about what some teenagers think cause they accuse beginners probably to just stroke their egos. Find your passions, you aren't hurting anyone.
I’ve been mall-grabbing ever since I began skating, it’s convenient ok? I just figured out that it was somehow bad or cringe, why couldn’t any other grab be labeled cringe, mall grabbing is so easy and convenient :(
Now I get why someone said I was POSER in the comments section when I said Thrasher looks cool. And I was into skating too.
Ive been called a poser but i cruise i ltteraly own a cruiser board and when im told to "do a kickflip" when i say i cant they call me a poser i just cruise. Do yall think im a poser
You aint a poser you dont act like you be skatig
Their the real posers if they think anybody can do a kick flip on a cruiser! Your definitely not a poser, your just vibing don’t let dumbasses like them ruin your experience. Maybe next time when they make fun of you for not doing a kick flip, ask them if they can do one. I’d be surprised if they could
Does surfing help with cruising
Yeah I’ve always wanted to own a board to cruise with, but am scared people would think I’m some poser. I appreciate the art of learning tricks, but I’m not an intense person. I would rather enjoy cruising and relaxing on a board. A poser wouldn’t even be able to cruise at all I think.
Ask them to do a kick flip on a CRUISER since they seem capable to, considering how they butted their way into your experience.
being a female skater is hard- and I'm a beginner or am i ? I've been skating for almost a month and I'm learning a few tricks still ! and I've already broke my ankle by trying an ollie i- 🤠 then i sprained my thumbs- :,)
Love how this entire video is pretty much just all anti poser propaganda
Ok but the last one is kinda funny ngl
Am I considered a poser if I only skateboard/longboard a few times a week or just for fun? Like I dont go to skate parks or anything and I dont post about it either I just do it for fun
Being a poser and being a beginner are totally different things! A poser is something who isn’t actually interested in learning they just want the “aesthetic”, being a beginner is when you generally like it and want to learn.
I landed my first frontside 180 off a 3 stair a week ago and im so proud of myself
I ask myself, hmm, you don't skate nor know a lot of skating terms such as mongo pushing or mall grabbing but KNOW WHAT A POSER IS I'm beyond bamboozled
ayee im the 100th like :)
First video is my hometown park 😂. Love you Mira loma
Yeah, beginners aren't posers.
We're beginners.
We are still new.
We don't have all the nuances down.
Leave.
Us.
The.
Fuck.
Alone.
Skateboard community has WAY too much gate keeping. Just because you’re a beginner doesn’t make you a poser. True skaters don’t care about that, they just want to excel at skating.
I’m only just hearing about posers... it’s like when you don’t go to school for a day 💀
