A very important point will be the experience Lathan gets before playing the Big Ten boys because that will be a tough test for him. They will force him to guard them down low and that will be a challenge to do without fouling. It's amazing how much weight he has lost in the short time he has been at RU! The weight loss has accelerated his development and is very encouraging.
Loved the balance, D was very good, Dylan is sublime, Lathan a nice surprise. There are still questions about rim protecting and rebounding but maybe all the other positives will compensate.
Good stuff Aaron. Sommerville was one of the brightest spots of the evening for my takeaway. Very impressed with his touch, passing, positioning at times, mobility, and you could literally see him being careful not to foul too much. First game out - very promising!!!
If the likes of jwill jmike and derkack can hit open 3s the ceiling raises a lot, think Paul when he was here he never shot 3s off the dribble but if he was left wide open he could hit them
Off topic… Did anyone else notice Dylan changed his shoes at least once? The whole first 1/2 up until about 3 mins left… He was wearing some pink Nike’s. At that 3 min mark he started wearing green ones. Not sure if he changed them again at 2 time but will check. Maybe this happens all the time and I just never really noticed, but thought it was interesting.
A little disorganized in the first 5 or 7 minutes. Lot of missed 3pters. Otherwise a win and seeing contribution from a broad range of players (particularly summerville) is encouraging.
@markciocco2509 We could've gone over 75% in free throw percentage if Dylan Harper hit all of his, but that part of his game will get much better for sure. I'm otherwise very encouraged by what Rutgers men's basketball REALLY can be this season!
Liked the balance and overall defense. Confirmed to me that this will be a special season!

Positive and encouraging display. The team is starting to work together well. I can't wait to see more... Go RU!
I think it’s crazy that every time you see Dylan attack the rim, you feel like he’s gonna score almost every time

The season is over. Rutgers is going nowhere except to the locker room.
@@RidleyHolmes-sr2twOr you could be a fake Rutgers fan embracing snap decisions after just one game.
J-mike's on the ball defense was suffocating....

Yes we were there and noticed that right away
@@markciocco2509 hahah.. It only all they talked about this off-season because he is NIKE and the team is Adidas.

Big O is huge, but lacks bball instincts...he thinks too much which prevents him from playing with passion.
Good to see Rutgers win a game against a bad team. They will be back to Division II very soon along with the pathetic football team.
@@RidleyHolmes-sr2tw weak sauce trolling job there. Do better.
