AK is an underrated QB. He may not blow you away with stats, but he is a winner. Next year, Rutgers will be more of a passing team than a running team.
7 wins, including 4 B1G wins, is progress. I'll take steady progress 100% of the time. I'd really love to see A.J Surace get some snaps at the bowl. I wonder if the coaches will give him a series or two?
The bottom feeders of our fanbase, makes it much more difficult through hard times, for the team to succeed. With all the hardships that the team faced this season, it's amazing how well they held it together as well as they did!
"The bottom feeders of our fanbase, makes it much more difficult through hard times, for the team to succeed." I don't follow that statement? Those people don't play on the field and they don't coach the team. They are irrelevant and should have no effect on the teams performance.
@@Borgata999 One would think so, but I totally get what he is saying, on fan bases in general. Take a look at the fan bases of any losing team at the collegiate or pro level. 80% of the commenters in the forums want the coaches head or endlessly criticize whichever player is not performing up to expectations. Its both human nature and the nature of competitive sports. It swallows up the souls of men.
@@Borgata999 The NYC area fans are tough...part of the culture. RU stadium would be filled if RU was in the CFP running. Until then....expect half filled stadium. Even the students do NOT some out when RU is losing...which is a shame.
I'm with David...being a fan this year is the most fun in a long time.....and the reason is we got Athan and Miller (from the portal) and young receivers on the field that make plays (HS recruits). I love Kyle...a true RU son...but without a REAL Big 10 passing offense...this team is not fun to watch...unless you are Woody Hayes. That's the nature of both NFL and modern college play. Pound and ground is dead if you want to win consistantly. Ohio State found that out Saturday. This year will always sting over the time out loss and better bowl that would have come. But way way more fun than 2023 since we had a decent BIG QB finally. Athan may be down on stats....but he was the MVP for RU...even more than Kyle. It's simple...no Athan = few wins. You don't need a star RB...just good ones work fine if the passing offense is a real threat. Next year the schedule gets tougher....we needed the bowl for the extra practices....AND we need to hit the portal again. I'm confident the offense will play well enough (assuming we get a left tackle to replace Pierce). The defense is worrisome...so many graduations...especially in the secondary. Congrats to the Seniors and thanks for all you did.
I think we surprise people to 7-8 wins next year. AK is the best QB we’ve had since M.Teel? Solid receiving corp, solid kicking game, solid running game, o-line not so sure, defense mixed bag (we lose some but we also retain some plus newcomers). Next year, defense will be telling as to how well we do, but I can see offense really taking another step from this year.
@@yoanreimers6087 Hands down AK is the best QB we’ve had since M.Teel. He doesn't throw the interceptions like Nova did. Savage was 2nd best, Nova would be 3rd best. I mean I hope you're right, 7-8 wins, but while we try to improve so does everyone else b/c of the zero-sum nature of all league sports. Thanks, guys. Appreciate your content. Go RU!
The absolute best!! Love you guys!
Great report

I'd be curious to see any backup RU QB throw some passes in a game.
Excellent discussion and points all around.

Big picture thought, we could have easily been 10 and 2 and we should feel good about talent coming abck

Shout out to Evan Simon And Cole Snyder who had better years than Athan but were never given a shot.
The season was a failure 😪 . How many wins do we get next season?
Six at best, if you look at their schedule. Rough.
