@@bobafett8768 They've said it'll be only 4 seasons, if they keep skipping over important battles (E.g Not showing Hightower v Beebury etc) I assume their going to cut the final end of the Dance of the Dragons and just finish it when all the main cast are mostly dead and not the finishing moments/aftermath

The shot of the burnt ground in the previous episode was to reveal to us (and Rhaena) that there's a dragon in the countryside. In this episode she returns to it because she's clearly decided to go in search of that dragon. She's following the scorch marks in order to find it, likely to claim it for herself.

HOTD was so scared of “rushing the story” like in GoT they’ve gone the other way and dragged out the plot to a ridiculous degree. “The experienced Daemon led the assault on Harrenhal, capturing the ruined castle from its castellan, Ser Simon Strong, without conflict by landing Caraxes on top of Kingspyre Tower. Daemon's victory allowed the riverlands to rise up in support of Rhaenyra” -Wiki quote. They turned THAT into a whole Season.

The writers hate daemon thats why. They love alicent, thats why she get so much useless screentime. They've turned the show into their own childish fiction, there's hardly even a single witty dialogue they could write. It's just a cycle of the same stellar cast saying/experiencing the same thing over and over again while the focus is one the other one or two characters. This is whats different compared to early GOT seasons. In early GOT, everyone was on a mission, and the dialogues were genius, and most importantly, hardly any filler scenes. These hotd producers are average at best, they were given gold to work with, and they produced average. It's not bad per se, it's just lost potential. Great works need to be given to great talented minds, not average people, or this is what we get. Just another 'netflix' show
Right no witty dialogue like they used to in got,no intersting characters, almost all the characters are boring and brooding ,no comic relief,jace character could have been develop they should have given him a blind mentor whos good at defending,that kiss between rhynaera and her assistant seems force that shoul have been erased,i dont know but s2 is a sleeper ,what happen to the writers ,no great battle even,so s2 was a letdown ,just sayin
I am afraid of they will end up rushing the best moments and battles of the lore, because sooner o later they will realize that 4 episodes were fully wasted in Daemon's holidays at Harrenhall's
This show was slower than any soap opera this season.
The issue with the show is that Rhaenyra treats becoming ruler like it's a world-saving mission, willing to sacrifice a lot for the greater good. Meanwhile, Aegon becoming king isn't portrayed as such a big deal. If he were like Joffrey or Maegor , it would make sense, but he's actually pretty laid-back just like Robert .
They also made Rheanyra some sort of chosen one with the white stag in season one😑. It's a succession crisis keep in mind not a devine driven story.

I dont mind the order of events being a little different, but its long overdue that the show starts focusing on the bigger picture instead of the family drama.
I had hoped for at least Fishfeed happening in season 2.

well she didnt claim syrax, syrax is her cradle egg dragon which hatched in her cradle when she was still a baby, the first cradle hatching i. years to be exact
Vermithor is slow and no battle experience. Vermithor can only fight with the little help it needed so strap is faster and can pull the battle to one side. So if both big dragons are combined and fought then vhagar will get defeated. When you have cyrax why the issue is there of vhagar..

I hate this season cause one of the best characters in the show(daemon) was stuck in a side quest having a mental breakdown/ spiritual awakening/whatever you want to call it. Honestly wth was that, it was so annoying . I would have understood if it lasted just 1 or 2 episode but he was stuck in that castle for the whole season, now rheanyra doesn't even need him all that much cause she has new riders. And what's wrong with his character now, its supriding that daemon would ever let a boy manipulate him like what happened in episode 7
It was a total waste! When I saw the direction it was going, I was like oh yeah they're just going to waste him all season with this easy BS hallucinations. The writers have messed it all up going away from the books.

In theory Helaena rides the third biggest tamed dragon. However, after the killing of his first son in the book she fall in depression and she is in a much more shape than here in the series. Shje was in no condition to ride to battle. Probably the showrunner will make her ride to battle to bolster a little her character.

Everyone complaining about Daemons visions is in for one heck of a treat with ep 8. The visions makes sense now. Bran couldnt just see things it took a whole season of practice offscreen.

Rhaenyra said something in episode 7 that implied there were two unclaimed dragons on Dragonstone, which to me indicates that they cut a lot of the extra dragons hanging around.

The book's whole "she gets depressed because of her womanly constitution and can't do anything" was b.s. anyway. I don't think she'll actually fight but I want to see them give a better reason for it than the book did.
Since you’ve talked about the book, you know that things have changed and taken a completely different turn. Aemond now knows that his sister has several dragons, so you won’t see him going to Harrenhal and leaving King's Landing unguarded and without a dragon. What’s so great about seeing a dragon around 98 years old being killed by losers?
The fall of the KL will be different, or at least that’s what I expect from the writers.

@@HK-gm8pe In either the books or the show, Helaena still accepts being crowned Aegon's queen so she's not 100% innocent. If she'd grabbed her kids (or even just Aegon's heir Jaehaerys) and immediately flown on dragonback to Dragonstone & pledged loyalty to Rhaenyra, it would have significantly undermined the green's cause and potentially avoided the war altogether, so it's not like she didn't have options. However, like I said I don't think she'll fight in the show anyway. One good reason to make it so that Halaena can't fight would be to incorporate a pregnancy (with Maelor)- a queen potentially pregnant with the king's heir being put in harm's way would be terrible optics for the greens. Bringing Maelor into the show would also explain why Aemond eventually goes playing truant in the Riverlands- he'd be pissed at being supplanted as Aegon's heir if Helaena has a son.

There IS no way that was possible in that scene. She gave two dragons to two people Who never rode a dragon before and she would have risk herself. Daeron helps the hightower army win some battles in the reach thanks to tesarion the blue flame dragon
Aemond, Aegon Gwayn and Otto are the only decent characters in this show that has like 200
Really hope they aren't writing Nettles out of the story and replacing her with Rhaena. Nettles is such great character and is pretty essential for Daemon's character arc as well.
Hot-D is just a costume drama. Not at all gripping. The actors/actresses not great when you put them up against those in S1&2 of GoT who played:
- the Starks (Ned, Catelyn Stark)
- the Lannisters (Tywin, Joffrey, Jaime, Cersei and Tyrion)
- Khal Drogo
- the schemers (Varys, Little Finger, Grand Master Pycelle)
Not all the actors’ fault, though. Script really dull, and too much jumping around. No time to get attached to characters before killing them off.
The clown fans will say you're just no patient and intelligent enough to appreciate it.
It is such a drab and soulless show. Season 1 wasn't too bad, but season 2's eps are hard to sit though and care for what is going on. What a shame. I probably won't even bother watching the next season.

So this season was all just a giant preparation which will end in a cliffhanger and we'd have to wait for 2 more years for a continuation? Alright!
0:51 holy moly sheepstealer exactly at the end of the season ... im very scared of this episode , why ? cuz will ended exactly when dance start and dragons start to fight .. why ? cuz this always happens in GOT and first season of HOTD.. i know buget its big for so many dragons in a movie , but only 1 scene with Vermithor in an entire season .. all ppls wait this season for Vermithor and see it just only its claimed :)) Guys , im afraid the true dance of the dragons will start in next season ... so wait untill 2026 ( if thinks will work good)

Really surprised to see Tessarion already. Given the snail-trail pace of this season, I figured we wouldn't see Tessarion this early. Maybe we'll even see Sheep-Stealer too
The brown Dragon at the beginning is not Tesarion it's probably vermax.
This lifespan will not be enough to see the completion of these series...season 3 in next 3 years...season 4 in another 4 years and there will be a minimum of 15 season dating till 2124.
So the dance of the dragon is a VERY long story and based on how slow this season progressed, there could be like 3 more seasons. Basically, I hope they speed this up, and show either the Greyjoy rebellion or Robert Baratheons War. I know Sir Duncan the Tall is next, which should be great, but I said what I said haha.
For all the people complaining : Daemon was in the way of the other characters developement and needed to be sent away so others can grow and take the lead. If he stayed :
* Rhanera wouldn't have done any of the things she did, especially not finding all the bastards as Daemon would have killed the woman she sisors with now.
* The old lady would have not died and the sea snake would't have been the hand
* The king wouldn't have survived against Daemon and The old lady and that battle would have been diffrent
* Jaharys wouldn't have had a bigger role in the conversation
* ...
